The MYHA Hockey Committee is encouraging 12U/PW and 14U/Bantam MYHA players to participate in our 10,000 puck challenge this summer. This program consists of stick handling, shooting development and goalie development programs to form our 10,000 Puck Challenge. The MYHA Puck Challenge is sponsored by Moorhead Youth Hockey Association. The challenge is designed to encourage hockey players to develop good stick handling, shooting skills and goalie skills as well as recognize their dedication to hockey. The MYHA program will be structured for 12U/PW and 14U/Bantam players. The players will be asked to commit themselves to attending 10 sessions of training at the Moorhead Youth Hockey Rink as well as putting in the extra time at home or at the rink to meet the requirements of our 10,000 Puck Challenge. Registration forms will be available on the Moorhead Youth Hockey Association s website once the schedule is finalized. Please watch for s in the near future with all the details! We will do today what most people won t and do tomorrow what most people can t. A fixture on the Moorhead, Minnesota, hockey scene, Dennis Bushy continues to leave an indelible mark not just locally, but throughout the state as a coach and administrator.

In 1977, he moved to Moorhead and coached bantam hockey. Bushy has served in numerous roles with USA Hockey, Minnesota Hockey and the Moorhead Youth Hockey Association.

In his coaching role, he helped groom six future NHL players including Matt Cullen, Mark Cullen, Jason Blake, Chris VandeVelde, Brian Lee and Ryan Kraft.

Bushy developed an early passion for sticks and pucks, and following a three-year stint in the United States Army, he launched the Benson (Minn.) Youth Hockey Association in In 1977, he moved to Moorhead and coached bantam hockey. Bushy has served in numerous roles with USA Hockey, Minnesota Hockey and the Moorhead Youth Hockey Association. He is currently Minnesota s District 15 director, general manager of the Moorhead Youth Hockey Arena and a bantam hockey coach. In his coaching role, he helped groom six future NHL players including Matt Cullen, Mark Cullen, Jason Blake, Chris VandeVelde, Brian Lee and Ryan Kraft. He also served as his district s high performance coach for more than 18 years and as a coach in the Minnesota Hockey bantam summer camps. In 2011, he concluded a 20-year stint as a Minnesota Hockey associate coach-in-chief, having helped develop hundreds of coaches skills and philosophies. Congratulations Denny! The Walter Yaciuk Award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated a consistent commitment and contribution to the education and development of USA Hockey coaches. New Jerseys for Travel Teams! With generous donations from Sam s Club and MHS Alumni Association, we will be ordering new jersey s for the travel teams for the fall. We will be looking to sell most of the current inventory of jerseys later this summer. Be on the lookout for details on how the sales will be handled, and dates, etc. ALSO. There is still space available on our video board in the lobby for advertising! These advertising dollars will go towards the new jerseys. ARENA NEWS We recently pulled the turf on the north rink so we now have ice on both rinks for summer camps and tournaments. Lights and ballasts have been replaced in the south rink as well. It is always awesome to see the ice all new and shinybright! We have ice on both rinks, and will take out the north rink after Blue Line and Pepsi Cup is over in July, so we can replace lights and ballasts there as well. Flagpoles will be installed soon, the M flowers are planted, and some patching to the grass has been done. Most of the interior painting is complete.
