1 2018 RULES & REGULATIONS Revised November 16, 2017 General Show Rules & Regulations: 1. The Latimer County Livestock Show Committee reserves to its management the final and absolute authority to interpret these rules and regulations and arbitrarily settle and determine all matters regarding the show. An official protest must be accompanied with $50.00 and in the case of the protest being overruled the $50.00 will be forfeited. The Grievance Committee will be Logan Rea, Eddie Woods, Darrell Bell, Freddy James, Mike Guazdausky, Laurin Groom, Trudy Crockett, Katie Herren, Troy Walker, Johnny Montgomery, Joe Martin, Tyler Frizzell, Randy Hall, Shane Sparks, Tony Johnson. 2. All exhibitors must be enrolled full-time in a primary, secondary public school, private or home school within Latimer County, Kindergarten through 12th grade. All exhibitors age 8 through 19 years of age, must be enrolled within a or a FFA Chapter by January 1, current year of show. 3. Academic Eligibility Requirements: This show is open to all 4-H and FFA members of Latimer County who meet age and membership guidelines established by the 4-H clubs and FFA chapters in Latimer County. Youth must attend school or be home schooled in Latimer County to be eligible to participate. By entering in the show, participants are verifying that they are in good academic standing at the time of the show and understand that if they are found to not be eligible as a result of the school contacting the show management, the management will support the local school district in any disciplinary actions taken. Likewise, home schooled families verify that they are meeting the mandates of the State regarding curriculum standards. 4. All exhibitors shall be responsible for the care and exhibition of their animals(s). Each exhibitor shall care for and exhibit his/her own animal except in circumstances beyond their control, then special permission must be granted by the executive committee for a replacement. (will be enforced) 5. All animals must be owned and on the premises of the exhibitor or school farm on or before December 1, 2017 and remain on those premises and must be certified by the Ag Ed Instructor or Extension Educator as being on the premises of the exhibitor prior to December 8, Proper Show Attire: All show participants are strongly encouraged to dress appropriately and wear their 4-H/FFA organizations attire! 7. Entries shall be made for each animal and mailed to OSU Extension Office, P.O. Box 266, Wilburton, OK by February 5, Entry fees are $15.00 per head and must accompany all entries. Late entries will be $50.00 per head and will be accepted until February 19, 2018, 4:30 p.m. After that NO entries will be accepted. 9. All animals will be shown as entered unless reclassified by the Superintendent. The Superintendent s decision will be final. 10. An exhibitor cannot exhibit more than two animals in any one class.

2 11. All classes will be broken by the superintendents and assistants as numbers warrant. 12. If the exhibitors are found to be ineligible or fails to comply with fore mentioned rules they agree that they will forfeit all prizes and premiums that may have been paid by the show. 13. Show dates, times and order: Monday, February 26, 2018 All cattle must check in from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The Cattle Show will begin at 12:00 noon! After weigh/check-in all animals must remain on the premises until after the conclusion of the show. Monday, February 26, 2018 All Goats and Lambs must weigh in from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The Lamb Show will follow the goat show. The Goat Show will start immediately following the Beef Show. After weigh/check-in all animals must remain on the premises until after the conclusion of the show. Tuesday, February 27, 2018 All hogs will be weighed by swine superintendents and assistants starting one hour after the conclusion of the sheep show until 9:00 p.m. Monday night. Swine can also be weighed in Tuesday 8:00 a.m. 10:00 a.m. Swine show 1:00 p.m. After weigh/check-in all animals must remain on the premises until after the conclusion of the show. Saturday, March 3, 2018 Premium Sale BBQ 6:00 p.m. Premium Sale 6:30 p.m. Premium Sale Rules & Regulations: 1. No more than 1 animal may be sold by any one exhibitor, unless the exhibitor has more than one Grand Champion. All Grand Champions must sell. 2. Premium sale will consist of 32 swine, 10 cattle, 10 sheep and 10 goats. All species selected for premium sale will be as follows: Grand Champions are automatic. Breed Champions are automatic if 3 or more are shown. If six or more are entered in a breed/species, the Reserve Breed Champion is automatic.

3 The remaining animals will line up as called. The Grand Champion Doe is the only automatic doe in the sale. The Reserve Champion Doe is automatic if six or more Does are entered. All other does must show for sale order against wethers! 3. Sale Order 2018: 1. Grand Steer 2. Grand Doe 3. Grand Heifer 4. Grand Goat 5. Grand Lamb 6. Grand Swine 7. Reserve Grand Steer 8. Reserve Grand Heifer 9. Reserve Grand Goat 10. Reserve Grand Lamb 11. Reserve Grand Swine 12. And following: 1 Swine, 1 Steer, 1 Heifer, 1 Goat, 1 Lamb Lamb Rules/Regulations: 1. All sheep will be officially weighed by the superintendents from 8:00 a.m. 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 26, All lambs will be classified by show officials. 2. Lambs will be shown in the following Breeds: Hamps, Suffolk, Cross, Natural, Hair Sheep and A.O.B. 3. After weigh/check-in all animals must remain on the premises until after the conclusion of the show. Meat Goat Show Rules/Regulations: 1. All horns must be tipped. 2. All goats must be shown with a choke chain, collar, or halter. 3. Exhibitors are responsible for confining and keeping their animals in the assigned pens. Goats that jump out of their pens will be tethered or tied. 4. All goats must weigh 40 pounds or more to be eligible to show! 5. All goats will be officially weighed by the superintendent from 8:00 a.m. 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 26, 2018 and shown according to weight. After weigh/check-in all animals must remain on the premises until after the conclusion of the show. Market Goats: 1. Wethers only. 2. Animals will be judged on carcass traits or merit. 3. Wethers are to be shorn to three-eighths of an inch. 4. Class winners will receive a plaque. Breeding Does: 1. All does must show as breeding does. 2. Animals are to be clipped according to exhibitor s preference. 3. Class winners will receive a plaque. 4. Grand Doe is the only automatic doe in the sale. The Reserve Grand Doe is automatic if six or more does are entered. All other does must show for sale order against wethers! Beef Cattle Rules/Regulations: 1. Registered Heifers must have registration papers in the name of the exhibitor or Heifers will be placed in the Crossbred class!

All Purebred classes will be divided as follows: Fall heifer calves - calved July 1 and after 2017 Spring heifer calves - calved Jan. 1 to June 30, 2017 Sr. heifers calves - calved Sept. 1 to Dec. 31, 2016 Late Sr. heifers calves - calved March 1 to August 31, All Crossbred Heifers will be weighed by Superintendent. Breeds of Beef Cattle include: Angus, Limousin, Maine/Maintainer, Brahman Influence, Chi/Chi Influence, Hereford Polled/Horned, Charolais/Charolais Appendix, Simmental, Shorthorn/Shorthorn Plus, Commercial and A.O.B. 4. Prospect steers will be 900 pounds and down. Market steers will be 901 pounds and over. The champion prospect and champion market steer will then compete for the grand champion steer. 5. After weigh/check-in all animals must remain on the premises until after the conclusion of the show. 6. County Cattlemen s Award: The Latimer County Cattlemen s Association will make the following prize money available to the 2018 LCLS Beef Cattle Show. The Grand Champion overall steer and heifer will receive $ each. The Reserve Grand Champion overall steer and heifer will receive $ each. The LCCA will also donate $25.00 to the overall Champion Pee Wee, Junior, Intermediate and Senior Beef Cattle Showman! Each year, the LCCA will utilize no more than 50% of their current year s dues collection as LCLS Beef Cattle prize money! Swine Rules/Regulations: 1. Market hogs must weigh between pounds. All hogs will be weighed by swine superintendents and assistants starting one hour after the conclusion of the sheep show until 9:00 p.m. Monday night February 26, Swine can also be weighed in Tuesday, February 27, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. 10:00 a.m. Swine show 1:00 p.m. After weigh/check-in all animals must remain on the premises until after the conclusion of the show. 2. All swine must have a current negative Pseudorabies test and tagged with an 840 RFID or OYE Tag. All entry forms must be completely filled out. (State Law). RFID/OYE tags will be checked by swine show officials. 3. Swine will be shown in the following breeds: Berks, Chesters, Durocs, Hamps, Hereford, Polands, Spots, Yorks and Crosses. 4. Premise ID Required of all Swine. Showmanship Awards: Showmanship awards will be presented within each species to: (A) Pee Wee Showmanship Ages 8 and under. (B) Junior Showmanship Ages (C) Intermediate Showmanship Ages (D) Senior Showmanship Ages 16 & up. The top five showmen in the beef/swine shows (except Pee Wee Division) will be ranked and their names submitted to represent Latimer County at the Oklahoma City Spring Jr. Livestock Show. If any changes are made during upcoming Latimer County Jr. Livestock Show Committee meetings, they will supersede these regulations. "Oklahoma State University, U. S.
