1 Rules and regulations.. EQUESTRIAN Saturday April 5th & Sunday April 6th 2014 Polocrosse Grounds Hynam 1. The Naracoorte Masters Games Equestrian event will be run under the auspices of Equestrian Australia and conducted in strict accordance with EA dressage rules and official procedures for dressage competitions, as amended. Please make sure that you are familiar with these rules. 2. Dressage tests may be commanded. 3. Bridle numbers will be available Saturday morning from the secretary s office. Bridle numbers must be worn throughout the competition. You will be given one tag which can be either worn on your bridle or saddle. 4. You must register BEFORE you compete or will entail elimination. 5. All competitors must REGISTER before commencement of the games. You can register for the equestrian section of the games at the polocrosse grounds starting from the Saturday morning of competition from 7.00am. This is where you will collect your goodies bag, your bridle number and we can tick your name off so we know that you have arrived! 6. All horses must be tethered in accordance with good practice, that is NO STRING. 7. Horses posing a danger will be asked to be removed. 8. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. 9. Dressage, Freestyles and Prix Caprilli awards will be presented approx 30mins after the completion of the last dressage test. All award winners must be in competition attire including helmet. 11. Ridden horse awards will be presented at the completing of each class and they will be mounted. 12. Friday night march will start at 6pm sharp and all competitors are invited to attend, wear your club uniform, or team up with your friends and dress up in your riding attire, or come with the same colour shirt. The march will start from the Naracoorte Art Gallery, please assemble by 5.30pm if you would like to participate. 13. Daylight savings ends this weekend, don t forget to wind your clocks back! 14. Catering will be available for the duration of the weekend, including a Saturday night meal. 15. The Naracoorte Polocrosse club request that no glass is to be used at the grounds. 16. Please scatter manure and fill in any holes. 17. Emergency contact numbers will be at the secretary's office at the Polocrosse grounds. 18. Dressage arenas will be set up prior to competition, please do not ride in them as this will entail elimination. 20. In the dressage classes, if there is an equality of % for any of the first three placegetters, the higher total of the four collective marks will decide on the better placing. If these marks are tied, the placings remain tied. 21. A first aid officer will be on site, if you need attending to please go to the secretary s office. 22. Masters Games merchandise will have a van coming around to each sporting event over the weekend. 23. Good luck everyone! Lets make it a wonderful and enjoyable weekend!

2 The Mid South East Dressage Club Inc Are proud to be hosting the 2014 Naracoorte Masters Games The Mid South East Dressage Club is a dynamic club, currently consisting of approximately 80 members, based in the south east of South Australia. The MSEDC runs activities and competitions throughout the south east, with competitions in recent years held in Naracoorte, Millicent, Lucindale, as well as assisting local shows with their dressage competitions. Each year we hold the successful winter series competition, where riders have the chance to compete for the winter series champion rug something that many unofficial and associate riders may not usually have the opportunity to do. We have also just become part of the HRCAV. The club welcomes new members, and promotes a family friendly atmosphere. There are many experienced riders and instructors within our folds who are more than willing to offer advice and help to the less experienced. If you have a computer have a quick look at If coming from Adelaide way, come into Naracoorte until you reach the round about, turn left, travel through Naracoorte township. Hynam is approx 10 minutes from Naracoorte. Coming into Hynam on your left hand side is the Hynam Frances road, turn left here and then take the first road to the right, continue straight ahead into the polocrosse grounds (beware of the two large dips in the road) If you are coming from Mt Gambier way, make a right hand turn at Jenkins terrace, this is just before a service station, go straight through the roundabout, and when you get to the T junction, turn right onto Smith street, this will take you out of Naracoorte, follow approx 10 minutes, then as you come into Hynam follow directions as above. If you are coming from Horsham way, after the VIC/SA border you will come into the small township of Hynam, go through Hynam and then on your right you will see the Hynam Frances road, turn right here, then take the first road to the right and follow directions as above. There will be signs erected saying Equestrian with an arrow, so hopefully no one will get lost!!!!!

9 Ridden horse classes will commence at approx 1.00pm A novice is for those who do not compete at regular show riding events. An intermediate is for those who do compete and have won in an open field at an Agricultural show. The decision of the judge is final. A pony is 14hh and under, Galloway is 14.1hh and under 15hh, Hack is 15hh and over. Gold medals awarded to first, silver for second and bronze for third in all ridden horse classes.
