PRVC nd VS re volume trgeted forms of Pressure Control nd Pressure Support respectively. With PRVC (control breths), the cregiver sets the inspirtory time nd trget tidl volume. Trget pressure is djusted breth by breth in response to volume discrepncies, up to mximum pressure of 5 cmh2o below the High Pw lrm setting. With VS (spontneous breths), the cregiver sets the trget tidl volume. Inspirtory time is controlled by the Expirtory Sensitivity setting (sme s for Pressure Support breths). The user sets the high nd low PEEP (Phigh nd Plow) nd independent levels of pressure support (if desired) t ech PEEP level (Psup high, Psup low). The user lso selects how much time the ptient brethes t ech PEEP level. Setting selections cn be bsed on I:E rtio or time including: Cycle + time t high pressure (Phigh) Cycle + rtio of time high to time low (Thigh nd Tlow) Time only t high nd low pressures (Phigh nd Plow) At ech PEEP level, the ventiltor delivers spontneous breth when the ptient triggers breth (bsed on the trigger setting). These breths cn be pressure supported or not.
