1 Monthly Newsletter of Olivedale Senior Center The Oak Leaf September 2012 Ice Cream - A Basic Food Group By scientific study on July 18, of the 164 attending the Ice Cream Social, butter pecan was the preferred flavor. However, it did not mean that the other flavors, like chocolate, raspberry, strawberry and of course, vanilla were not sampled as well. Think of the possibilities when any or all of the selections were topped with strawberry, butterscotch or chocolate. The entertainment was provided by Celeste Friedman who sang 50 s and 60 s tunes that brought back the good old days. Thanks again to Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home for sponsoring this event. Judy, Bonnie, and Dolly ready to serve toppings with Betty keeping an eye on it all. Nancy and Frank Myers Dance to the oldies. Volume 40,, Issue 9 Members are served by the Dave Rooker and friends. Celeste Freidman Lancaster Festival - Presents The Sparrow Academy of Music s High Strung Orchestra The crowd enjoyed classical tunes, songs from Beauty and the Beast and even the Mickey Mouse Club theme. We appreciate the Festival coming to Olivedale July 27. The crowd enjoyed musical styles ranging from classical, show tunes to Disney movie themes; all performed by middle school and high school students along with a few adults. The blending of violin, cello, base and piano was well received by the parents, grandparents and members alike. Thank you to Alterna- Care Home Health for the ice cream treats.
