Paso Doble or pasodoble is a lively style of dance to the duple meter march, like pasodoble music. It actually originated in southern France, but is modeled after the sound, drama, and movement of the Spanish and Portuguese bullfight. Instructions are every Friday at 1:00p and are $5 per class. No partner is needed. Sign up and pay at the desk. Basket Class Monday, August 8 at 9:00a, the basket class will make a card basket. It will be 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 x 4 inches deep. Higher outdoor temperatures and moisture laden air, humidity, call for extra caution when venturing outdoors whether for a causal walk, mowing the lawn or working in the garden. The ability to cool off, to disseminate heat, becomes less efficient with age as does the ability to retain bodily warmth during colder months. It is important to keep outdoor exertion to short bouts during the hottest hours of the day. Take breaks, drink water, sit in the shade to avoid heat exhaustion, or worse yet, heat stroke. Heat stroke is a life threatening condition with symptoms of high body temperature, rapid pulse, difficulty breathing, nausea, light-headedness, dehydration, and fainting, which may be the first sign in older adults. So take precautions with the summer heat and stay cool, stay hydrated and take it easy in the sun. Fall Session Runs Sept. 12-Nov. 4 ******* Sign-Up will be August 29 and 30
