Consider volunteering as a server, kitchen help, table buser, dishwasher, greeter, usher, traffic control, re-stocker, carry-out server, dessert filler, clean up or ticket sales. Contact the office or Karen Sanner to indicate the shift and position you are willing to assume. Ballroom Dance Class The West Coast Swing is the dance for October. It s origins are believed to be in Lindy Hop (the Savoy Style Lindy), which was performed at the Savoy Ballroom in New York in the 1930 s. The dance is characterized by a distinctive elastic look that results from its basic extension compression technique of partner connection. During the 1940 s basically all swing dance styles were under an umbrella termed Jitterbug. An interesting piece of trivia is that the West Coast Swing Dance is the official state dance of California! Instructor Stan will assure that you can dance West Coast Swing almost anywhere, almost any place and at any time with almost anyone! A wonderful dance! Ballroom classes are held every Friday at 1:00p at Olivedale and is $5 per person per lesson, payable at office before class. No partner Required. Senior for Seniors Olivedale has embraced a new idea of Seniors for Seniors. This is a concept of older adults teaching life skills to high school seniors and high school seniors assisting older adults with household or outdoor projects. To cultivate this new initiative we are asking for anyone with life skill experience they are willing to pass on to another generation to contact the office, with your interest. Has something changed with someone you know? WE CAN HELP. Visit us online to learn more AND for your chance to win a gas card.
