1 NEW MEXICO COUNCIL OF CAR CLUBS FOUNDED IN 1977 TO REPRESENT THE AUTO HOBBY IN NEW MEXICO NEWSLETTER FOR FEBRUARY, 2012 NEXT MEETING TO BE AT OLD CAR GARAGE WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2012, 7:30pm MEETING AGENDA: Dates for Events, Car Show Committee Report, IRS status, Cars on Radio The Car Council is now a current member of SEMA. Any club may join for free. It will keep members updated about proposed legislation that affects the car hobby nationwide. If you or your club want to sign up, go to and do it. It costs nothing and should be informative. The editor will publish any pertinent information received. New Mexico Council of Car Clubs Minutes: January 25, 2012 Meeting Dennis Seibert, our President, called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM, and the following club representatives were present; Ron Rymarz-OCCA, Paul McLaughlin-Mustang Owners Club, ATHS-NM, JD-RGMC, Dennis Seibert-Rickshaws, Chuck Logan-Cougar Club, OCCA, Pat Logan-OCCA, BAOA, Jeff and Lauri Rector- NM4W, Su Rymarz-OCCA, Robert Gold-Corvairs of NM, Wayne Mikosz-Classic Chevy Car Club, Raymond Cotinolla-Rickshaws, Russell Perea-Bombardiers CC, Rich Hansel-AMCC, Roger Goldie-Atomic City Corvettes, Louie Paul-RRCC, VMCCA, Chris Padilla-LOE GTOs, Lisa BonDurant-Saabisti NM, David Pachak-Robie-Saabisti NM, Jason Koteen, Andy House-Classic Chevy Club, Jim Clements-Tumbleweed Ford V-8, Bill Lemen-LCOC, Joyce Clements-OCCA, Patrick Wightman-Classic Chevy Club of ALB. All received their newsletters and for this meeting; we had no guests or speakers. Treasurer's Report: Ron Rymarz reported on our finances. Old Business: 501 (c) (3) Application-Lisa BonDurant reports that our application is moving through the IRS system as we speak. New Business: All Clubs Picnic- Roger Goldie of the Atomic City Corvettes is going to talk to his club about hosting this event. Car Show Progress- Joyce Clements reports that our theme for the Albuquerque Museum Show this year is "100 Years of Chevrolet". A planning committee meeting will be held on February 9, 2012 to discuss this subject. Collector Car Appreciation Day 2012 Plans/Ideas: A suggestion has been made that we have a tour of collector cars to make stops in Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and Los Lunas for this special day. Further information will be available after the plans are finalized. [Ed. Note: Date is July 13] Web Site and Newsletter Reformat: Joyce Clements and David Pachak-Robie have been working on reformatting the web site to include a "NMCCC Events Page", a "Member Clubs Page", and an "Every Other Events Page" to make the website easier to use Car Council Event Dates: Albuquerque Museum Show May 20, 2012 Collector Car Appreciation Day July 13, 2012 All Clubs Picnic August 12, 2012 Annual Fall Swap Meet September 28-30, 2012 At this point with no other business to discuss the meeting was brought to a close. 2 ALL CLUBS PICNIC ALERT! The Council Officers are seeking a Host Club for the All Clubs Picnic, scheduled for August 12. The host club determines the location and venue; the Council picks up the expenses. If your club, or a group of clubs is interested in hosting the event, please contact Dennis Seibert at or Bob Agnew at during business hours. Please note that the Calendar is now reformatted to emphasize Council, Car Council Club and New Mexico events. NOTE: The Calendar is now divided into parts. This is the first step in reorganization and guidelines for the newsletter and web site. The division are: Car Council-Sponsored Events, Member Club-Sponsored Events, Other New Mexico Events, and Nearby Events. This is designed as an effort to emphasize our own events over others in the area. Your comments are welcome. Also note that the new for events is joyce@nmcarcouncil.net. New Mexico Council of Car Clubs Statement of Purpose Organized in 1977, the New Mexico Council of Car Clubs (NMCCC) consists of member clubs from throughout New Mexico. It shall serve to foster communication and cooperation among the member clubs, as well as with similar organizations in other states. It shall be strictly non-profit in nature and will operate as a non-profit New Mexico corporation. Funds for its operation may be levied on its member clubs or raised by promoting automotive events.
