All Clubs' Picnic-August 15, 2010 NMCCC Los Lunas Annual Swap Meet-September 24-26, 2010 New Mexico Council of Car Clubs Minutes: June 23, 2010 Meeting Bob Agnew called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM and the following club representatives were on hand; Ron and Su Rymarz-OCCA, Pat Logan-BAOA, OCCA, Chuck Logan-Cougar Club of NM, John Hayne-Tin Lizzies of Albuquerque, Jeff and Lauri Rector-NM 4 Wheelers, Louie Paul-RRCC, Dave Huntoon-CNM, Pat Hall-CNM, Lisa BonDurant-Saabisti of NM, David Pachak-Robie-Saabisti of NM, Joe Cifaratta-VMCCA, Chris Padilla-LOE GTOs, Jim Clements-Tumbleweed Ford V- 8, Joyce Clements-OCCA, Bill Lemen-LCOC, Ed McConnell-Roadrunner Convoy, Dennis Seibert-Rickshaws, Bob Agnew-CCCA, Paul McLaughlin-MOC, ATHS-NM, Roger Goldie-Atomic City Corvettes. Treasurer's Report- Ron Rymarz reports that our checking account balance as of this date is $ Old Business: Storage Unit Progress- Dennis Seibert reports that the storage unit sitting at his yard is ready for us to start filling it with council supplies and equipment. He has turned over the keys to Joyce Clements. Web Site- David Pachak-Robie and Lisa BonDurant report that the web site is up and working and that they are tweaking it to make it more user-friendly. Car Show Report- Jim and Joyce Clements reported that our Albuquerque Museum Car Show turned out to be a very successful event again this year. We had about 360 entries registered this year with some of them being vehicles that had never been shown at local car shows before. A Volunteers Luncheon will be held later on this summer for those who helped out. New Business: All Clubs Picnic- Dennis Seibert and Bob Agnew report that plans for this event to be held on August 15, 2010 at Nambe Falls are all set. A fee of $5.00 per car will be charged and overnight campers will be charged a fee of $15.00 per day. Hot dogs, hamburgers, ice cream, and soft drinks will be provided by the council and car clubs are encouraged to bring along side dishes to share. Swap Meet- Joyce Clements and John Hayne reported that plans for our Annual Swap Meet are moving along. John Hayne will design the collector/vendor pins and will order them from the supplier. Costs per space are set at $20.00 (preregistration) and $30.00 (day of event). A display ad will be run in the Latest Scoop regional events magazine prior to this event.
2 Bob Jacobs Award Proposal- Bob Jacobs was not available to discuss his proposal at this meeting. 501C-3 Status Change for the Council- Ron Rymarz and Lisa BonDurant discussed how this change in non-profit status would allow us to take in donations up to $25, and that the donors would be allowed to take a tax write-off for the amount they donate. This change would allow us to accept Bob Jacob's proposal to provide a monetary award through the car council to a deserving car enthusiast who has been chosen by a car council committee for a restoration project. At this point the meeting was brought to a close. COUNCIL STORAGE UNIT Paul G. McLaughlin Secretary The Storage Unit now has some Council property installed. More will follow. 10 CARS & COFFEE Cars and Coffee Cruise-In, every 2nd Saturday, April thru Oct. at 9:00 AM. All cars, make, model or year, are welcome. Casual show and shine, no charge, free coffee. All donations will go to our car repair fund for widows and single mothers in the community who can't afford repairs. Beginning Date: April 10; Place: Grace Church at 6901 San Antonio NE (NW corner of Louisiana & San Antonio). NAPA and Discount Tire are sponsoring gift cards for raffle. It shall serve to foster communication and cooperation among the member clubs, as well as with similar organizations in other states. It shall be strictly non-profit in nature and will operate as a non-profit New Mexico corporation. Funds for its operation may be levied on its member clubs or raised by promoting automotive events.
