1 NEW MEXICO COUNCIL OF CAR CLUBS FOUNDED IN 1977 TO REPRESENT THE AUTO HOBBY IN NEW MEXICO NEWSLETTER FOR MAY, 2016 MEETS 4 TH WEDNESDAY EACH MONTH, JANUARY-OCTOBER NEXT MEETING TO BE AT OLD CAR GARAGE WEDNESDAY, MAY 11, 2016, 7:00pm MEETING AGENDA: Museum Car Show Goody Bags, Collector Car Appreciation Day, Picnic * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * WEB SITE Web site: Robert Gold of the Corvair Club is web master. Jamie Saavedra of the GTO Club is in charge of facebook. Both are doing a great job. Please check the Council web site to make sure your club's information is correct. Keep your information up-to-date, by contacting joyce@nmcarcouncil.com (Note New ) * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * MINUTES OF NMCCC MEETING OF APRIL 27, 2016 The New Mexico Council of Car Clubs April meeting got underway at 7:33. Present were Bill Lemen-Lincoln Club; Lauri & Jeff Rector-NM 4-Wheelers; Joe Ballengee-Abq Model CC; Gabe Trujillo, Bill Griffith-Drifters CC; John Hayne-Horseless Carriage CC; Perry Key-NM Auto Artists; Mark Terkeltaub-NM Pontiac Club; Jamie Saavedra-V8 Vixens; Michelle Garcia-LOE GTOs; Sue Nemeth, Andy Yoakum-Cougar Club; William Lubert-Wheels Museum; David Merewether-Tin LIzzies & Jaguar Clubs; Bob Agnew-Classic Car Club; Kehaulani & Kainoa Ayze, Kevin Casaus-Camaro Club; Eric Candelaria-NMC3 Challengers; Mike Maguire-Rickshaws CC; Joyce Clements, Ron Rymarz-Old Car Club; Krissy Bencomo-Garcia Tents; Jim Clements-Tumbleweed V8 Club. President Lauri, after seeing everyone got their newsletter, called for a motion to approve the minutes. Thanks again to Jamie for helping out last month. Our guest speaker against the ART project was unavailable. The good thing is I'm not sure how many he would have swayed anyway. There are several groups opposed to this project, as well as a brewing lawsuits as to the way this was presented. Stay tuned. Joe gave us the money report, and despite spending nearly $2,400 on mostly car show related expenses, the firm is solvent. Robert Gold was out with the spring crud and wasn't able to give us a website update, but we've had nearly 700 hits and all is well. Jamie did a follow up with the Facebook report, and to date 1,289 folks like us. Under the new biz picnic report, it appears that the Drifters car club and the Challengers car club are hosting. Please give them help. We are again at Oak Flats. Nice locale if you've not been. Check newsletter. Collector Car appreciation Day: not much to report here still. Think we may need to do a run on our own. That's ok too. Joyce gave us a report on the Museum car show. Again the theme is Route , the year it opened and the year it got decommissioned. Talk to her if you have a car that might have been on the route at that time. As a side note we are meeting at the Old Car Garage on: MAY 11 at 7:00 to stuff goodie bags for the car show. Be there or be square. She then shifted to an update on the swap meet. The phone calls are already starting. A good thing. We are going to use the June meeting for another Pizza night and envelope stuffing. Come hungry with a wet tongue. We welcomed two guests: Krissy from Events Tents was there to introduce herself and what she can provide for your car show. We also welcomed Eric Candelaria with the Challenger Car Club. Welcome. The last bit of business was a recap of the Spring Thaw. It was another complete success. Bob and his crew worked on our cars and we raised right at $4,000 for CLN. Thank you. Car folks never cease to amaze. See you next month, and don't forget the 11th of May.
