1 FOUNDED IN 1977 TO REPRESENT THE AUTO HOBBY IN NEW MEXICO NEWSLETTER FOR JANUARY, 2012 NEXT MEETING TO BE AT OLD CAR GARAGE WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 25, 2012, 7:30pm MEETING AGENDA: Dates for Events, Car Show Committee Report, IRS status The Car Council is now a current member of SEMA. Any club may join for free. It will keep members updated about proposed legislation that affects the car hobby nationwide. If you or your club want to sign up, go to and do it. It costs nothing and should be informative. The editor will publish any pertinent information received. New Mexico Council of Car Clubs Minutes: October 26, 2011 Meeting Dennis Seibert, our President, called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM and the following club representatives were present: Paul McLaughlin-Mustang Owners Club, John Doran-Rio Grande Mustangs, Ron Rymarz-OCCA, Dennis Seibert-Rickshaws, Bob Agnew-CCCA, Su Rymarz-OCCA, Pat Logan- BAOA, Charles Logan-Cougar Club of NM, Robert Gold-Corvairs of NM, Jerry Jennings-Pajarito Thunderbirds, Jeff and Lauri Rector-NM4W, John Hayne-Tin Lizzies of Alb, HCC of Albuq, Pat Hall- CNM, Chris Padilla-LOE GTO's, Don Briggs-Camaro Club of NM, Jeff Zide-HellBomber CC, Russell Perea-Bombardiers CC, Lisa BonDurant-Saabisti NM, Joe Ballengee-Alb Model Car Club, Jim Clements-Early Ford V-8, Bill Lemen-LCOC, Louie Paul-VMCCA, RRCC, Joyce Clements-OCCA. Guests/Speakers- Scheduled speakers unable to attend. Treasurer's Report- Ron Rymarz reported that our bank balance as of this date stands at $11, Old Business : Swap Meet Report- Joyce Clements reported that her initial report on the swap meet shows that we are ahead about $ and that after all expenses are paid that figure will probably drop down to $ Our swap meet was very successful with between spaces being sold. Though successful, we did have a few problems, in that we didn't have enough portable toilets and hand washing sanitation stations. She would also like to see more support for this event from the motels, hotels, and the Los Lunas Village Council for this event. We might also want to have more signage around the area and more advertising to draw more people to the event. She would also like to thank all the people who helped put on this event.

2 At this point a vote was taken to give a donation to the Village of Los Lunas for the use of Morris Field for this event. 501(c)(3) Status-Lisa BonDurant reports that our application to the IRS for changing our status is ready to be submitted along with a check for $ to pay for fees associated with this change. New Business : Web Site-Joyce Clements and David Pachak-Robie will write up guidelines about what is acceptable for our web site Event Dates: Albuquerque Museum Car Show- May 20, 2012 All Clubs Picnic- August 12, 2012 Swap Meet- September 28-30, 2012 Legislative Committee For Next Session- Lisa BonDurant advised us that we have to stay away from being directly involved with politics otherwise we run the risk of losing our 501(c)(3) status with the IRS so it was decided that we would not have a Legislative Committee formed for the next session of the legislature. Welcome New Clubs : We wish to take this opportunity to welcome two new clubs to the council and they are the Hell Bombers Car Club and the Bombardiers Car Club. At this point our last meeting of 2011 was brought to a close. Our next meeting is scheduled for January 25, Paul G. 3 2012 EVENTS The 2012 Calendar is started. If you have major events scheduled for next year, send them to Please note that the Calendar is now reformatted to emphasize Council and Council Club events. NOTE: The Calendar is now divided into four parts. This is the first step in reorganization and guidelines for the newsletter and web site. The divisions are Council-Sponsored events, Council Club- Sponsored Events, Other New Mexico Events, and Nearby Events. This is designed as an effort to emphasize our own events over others in the area. Your comments are welcome. 13 DONUT DERELICTS Donut Derelicts aka Burrito Bandits meets in the Starbucks/Dos Hermanos Plaza off of Jefferson (same location as the past year) at 8AM on Saturdays. There are several places there for coffee, or even breakfast. There is a Maestas and Ward in the NW corner, and that's where we park; there is a Starbucks, a Dos Hermanos, a Hello Deli and a Twisters Jefferson NE. Spread the word - all makes of cars. New Mexico Council of Car Clubs Statement of Purpose Organized in 1977, the New Mexico Council of Car Clubs (NMCCC) consists of member clubs from throughout New Mexico. It shall serve to foster communication and cooperation among the member clubs, as well as with similar organizations in other states. It shall be strictly non-profit in nature and will operate as a non-profit New Mexico corporation. Funds for its operation may be levied on its member clubs or raised by promoting automotive events.
