1 NEW MEXICO COUNCIL OF CAR CLUBS FOUNDED IN 1977 TO REPRESENT THE AUTO HOBBY IN NEW MEXICO NEWSLETTER FOR AUGUST, 2010 NEXT MEETING TO BE AT OLD CAR GARAGE WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 25, 2010, 7:30pm MEETING AGENDA: All Clubs Picnic Report, Swap Meet 2010 Council Dates: Please put these dates on your club calendars and try to avoid scheduling problems with Council events. NMCCC Los Lunas Annual Swap Meet-September 24-26, 2010 WELCOME Pine Top Car Club! All Clubs Picnic The picnic turned out just great! 113 cars showed up with about 250 people. The food was plentiful, and all seemed to be having a wonderful time. THANK YOU to the Rickshaws for organizing it. Dennis Seibert headed up that crew, and Bob Agnew brought the ice cream. There were many who helped with the table setting, door prize sales, serving drinks and chow, and cooking all those burgers and dogs. The cooks deserve a special round of applause, as it was a hot day. Thank you to all who helped make the day a huge success. It appeared that everyone got plenty of lunch and ice cream. The kids got a charge out of the car pinata full of toys and candy. Thank you Rickshaws and all the others who helped. SWAP MEET The Swap Meet is progressing nicely. We can use some more volunteers to help with parking and directions. The jobs are easy to do, but we need warm bodies scattered around the field to help our vendors. Volunteers get fed lunch, free water and an invitation to the "Hobo Dinner" on Friday evening. You need serve only a couple of hours on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Get in touch with Joyce, , if you haven't already signed up. So far, I have Louie Paul, Bill Darnell, Al & Jo Seery, Pat Hall, three Clements, Dave Huntoon and John Doran for Thursday to line the field; Frank Chavez, John Hayne, Bill Lemen, Tom Willers, Joyce Clements and Elizabeth Baker for Friday; Robert & Javier Gold, Bill Lemen, Lauri Rector for Saturday morning; Bill Lemen, Lauri Rector, Ron & Ray Hartman for Saturday afternoon. Ron & Su Rymarz will be on call, as will Chuck & Pat Logan. We will definitely need more help Saturday and Sunday. If you've told me you'll help, and I've missed your name, please remind me. This is our big money raiser for the year, and what we make goes to pay for next year's expenses and all clubs picnic. Join in the fun and help out. New Mexico Council of Car Clubs Minutes: July 28, 2010 Meeting Bob Agnew called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM, and the following club representatives were on hand: John Doran-RGMC, Chuck Logan-Cougar Club of NM and CCOA, Don Jones-AMCC, John Hayne-Model T Club, Jeff and Lauri Rector-NM4W, Pat Hall-CNM, Lisa BonDurant-Saabisti NM, David Pachak-Robie- Saabisti NM, Roger Goldie-Atomic City Corvettes, Joe Cifaratta-VMCCA, Joyce Clements-OCCA, Doug Huntoon-CNM, Bill Lemen-LCOC, H.C. Treasurer's Report: Ron Rymarz reports that our checking account balance as of this date stands at $ Old Business: No topics to discuss at this meeting. New Business: All Clubs' Picnic- Dennis Seibert reports that everything is in place and that we are expecting a good turnout for this event. Dennis, and some other members of the Rickshaws, will be going up to Nambe Falls a day ahead of time to prepare the site for our picnic scheduled for August 15th. There will be two different caravan groups heading to Nambe Falls. One group will travel up North 14 to Santa Fe while the other group will travel up I-25. The former will meet at the Smith's Store at Central and Tramway while the latter group will meet at the McDonalds on San Mateo. Both groups will leave at 9:00 AM. Swap Meet- Joyce Clements reports that as of this date she has sold fifty four spaces and that we will need a lot of volunteer help to make this event a success. John Hayne has ordered the collectible vendor pins and that the ads promoting this event have been placed in different publications. Bob Agnew reports that the Village of Los Lunas is talking about expanding the Morris Field facility which will help our swap meet to grow and accommodate more vendors in the future. 501 C-3 Status Change- Lisa BonDurant spoke about the fact that the process to change our tax exempt status from a 501C-7 to a 501C-3 can't be done overnight. That this process will take some time to do it right so that we don't face problems in the future. Both she and Ron Rymarz feel that our by-laws will have to be changed to facilitate this change in status. New Member Club- The council would like to take this opportunity to welcome the Pine Top Car Club of Ruidoso as our newest club to join our group. Elections For Term- Elections were held during this meeting for the term and the following people were elected to fill out our officer positions: President-Dennis Seibert Vice President-John Doran Treasurer-Ron Rymarz Secretary-Paul McLaughlin In addition the following people were elected as Directors: Lauri Rector, Joyce Clements, Lisa BonDurant After the elections Bob Agnew, outgoing President, spoke about how honored he was to have served as President for the past five years and how much he appreciated the support of council members during his terms of office. 10 CARS & COFFEE Cars and Coffee Cruise-In, every 2nd Saturday, April thru Oct. at 9:00 AM. All cars, make, model or year, are welcome. Casual show and shine, no charge, free coffee. All donations will go to our car repair fund for widows and single mothers in the community who can't afford repairs. Beginning Date: April 10; Place: Grace Church at 6901 San Antonio NE (NW corner of Louisiana & San Antonio). NAPA and Discount Tire are sponsoring gift cards for raffle. For info: or New Mexico Council of Car Clubs Statement of Purpose Organized in 1977, the New Mexico Council of Car Clubs (NMCCC) consists of member clubs from throughout New Mexico. It shall serve to foster communication and cooperation among the member clubs, as well as with similar organizations in other states. It shall be strictly non-profit in nature and will operate as a non-profit New Mexico corporation. Funds for its operation may be levied on its member clubs or raised by promoting automotive events.
