2 How are tournaments picked? 2019 Tourneys There are numerous summer tournaments happening all over the country, so how does NPL decide which tourneys to attend? 1. Past experiences Nebraska has been traveling for numerous years now and has made good relationships with many tourney directors. We have learned which tourneys fit our level/ expectations. 2. Location While the Midwest is expanding it s growth of lacrosse each year, it is still not as prevalent as other areas of the country. So we look to the closest areas to Omaha where we can still be competitive. 3. Host of the Tournament While there are often some more local tournaments in Kansas City and Minnesota, these are risky as they often do not get enough teams at every division. So to ensure we can make the appropriate travel arrangements and guarantee games, we choose larger more established tournaments hosted by well known programs such as US Lacrosse, NXT, Adrenaline, etc. 4. Competition Level Travel lacrosse is for the highly skilled player who is looking to improve their game. So we select tournaments were we can still be competitive while also trying to reach outside our comfort zones and play against some strong teams. This shows us the level we need to get to in order to start to get on the same page as the rest of the country. We play to learn and improve, not play in lower skilled tournaments just to win games. 5. Recruiting For High School teams we try to get the most looks from college coaches. NE Travel as had great success in placing kids in appropriate colleges. **Please note that tournaments may be adjusted after tryouts depending on how the teams are formed**

This covers winter/summer practices, coaches stipends, insurance and all other indirect costs such as team building and administrative. This cost is non-refundable. Players are able to just do practice only if they wish. Each individual tournament is broken out separately. This covers the player tourney registration fees, coaches fees, as well as hotel/travel costs for coaches and team managers. Within the invitation to join the team, it is expected that players would attend all tournaments listed above.

Team cost is the initial cost upon acceptance of being part of the NPL Travel Program. This covers winter/summer practices, coaches stipends, insurance and all other indirect costs such as team building and administrative. This cost is non-refundable. 7 Training/ Practice Winter Skills Development U12 & U14 Teams: 16 weeks Wednesday nights 7 8pm from October 17 th thru February 27 th U10 & High School Teams: 8 weeks Thursday nights 7 8pm from October 18 th thru December 13 th All play will be at Off The Wall Summer Practice Schedule Tuesdays & Wednesdays 1 ½ hr per team between 5:30 8:30pm Youth Teams will also be having some weekend practices during the OLC season. Most are available to the public but there is some limited access (password protected) to NPL Travel Team pages.
