1 Directors AMA Charter 3233 Coordinators Ray & Elma Taylor Ted & Terri Beers Phone: (607) Phone: (607) Volume 29, No 6 Online at: June 2014 MAY BREAKFAST Happy Mother s Day to everyone. What a beautiful day it was. I m sure many had the opportunity to get out on the bikes and just ride. Ted and I didn t as we had other obligations that didn t include riding. We only had 34 this morning. Tim MacDonald brought his mom, his wife and future daughter-inlaw. Some more of our Florida people showed up. But being mother s day, we of course were missing some. Arnold was the big winner today. Besides the birthday drawing, he also won the 50/50. The scratch-off winners were Dave Hunter (won $4.00), Linda Karl, Ray, Jim Barr, Roger Miller, and Bob Wood. The American Legion is selling World War II magnetics in honor of D-Day. The cost is $5.00 and they are really nice. See Wayne Gregory if you are interested. The ice cream runs have started and the Wed rides will start the week after Americade. There aren t going to be any rides however if no one wants to either lead them or come up with places to go. If you have any suggestions, contact Ray or Elma. Dave Davidson is looking for 3 couples to volunteer to man the card stations for the poker run in August. Contact him if you are interested. Until next month, Terri ODDS and ENDS Overnighter Cutoff Date for Special room Rate is June 25th Make sure you let us know if you have made your hotel reservation, so we know numbers. Either let Ray & Elma or Joan & Roger know. So far we have 22 people going. Interesting facts: we have 8 Spyders, 3 Trikes, 1- two wheel Harley, and 1 truck going on the trip Wednesday Rides Should start next month! We need leaders! If you have any suggestions, let us know! It could be a different day of the week if your idea would not work on a Wednesday. 1

3 Let s Meet for Lunch Overnighter 2014 It was nice to see our numbers back to normal. We tried a new place for some of us this month. It was Joey s Outback Bar & Grill in Davenport, with 20 attending. They had tables set up with either 2, 4, or 6. By the time we were through, we had everyone at 2 tables. We just took over and moved tables together. The menu had much to offer, salads, subs, burghers, and more. The food was good and the prices were comparable to the other places we go. The weather wasn t great for riding but Joan and Roger and Jim Barr did ride theirs. Clem was the lucky 50/50 winner. That s twice so far this year. He s still waiting to win the BIG one at the breakfast. Hope to see even more at the next luncheon. Terri For Sale The dates for the 2014 overnighter are July th. So put it on your calendar. Our hotel for the stay will be the Comfort Inn, in Bradford PA. The rooms are already blocked, so you can make your reservations any time. They will be held until June25th. Some of the things we will be seeing are: the Zippo/Case Museum ( the School House Shops/café- World War II museum ( the Kinsua Sky Walk (visitanf.com/kinzua-state-park-sky-walk), plus a few other things. 4 Mid Atlantic Rally Nine Hudson Highland Retreaders went to the Rally in Bird in Hand, PA. Despite some rainy weather we all had a great time. Those attending were- the Brotschuls- Millers- Kollingers - Taylors, and Arnold Cope. The volunteers do a great job. As with all volunteer groups, that s what it takes to make an event such as this one, a success. Some of the rides were to the Utz potato chip factory-the Harley Davidson Factory-the Winery tour, and Scenic ride. The Columbia Watch & Clock Museum- the Boyertown Museum of Motor Vehicles- the Plumpton Park Zooand the New one this year, to the Hershey Chocolate World. There were many more, so there was something for everyone. Also some just took a free day, and went to see some of the local activities. A few of us went to Rhubarb festival in Intercourse, at the Kettle Village, which has a lot of neat craft shops. Stats: Total of 301 attended, with PAhaving the most at 125- but NY was well represented with 20. There were 15 states represented, plus Canada. The Poker Run had $1250 to donate to their charity- 4 Diamonds, it is to help wipe out cancer in children. Hopefully more of you will consider going next year- the dates are May 13th- 16th. More info will be forthcoming as we get closer to the dates. Ray & Elma 4
