3 Bowls Section News and Play Days Our first Bowls Day Financial Day. 1st March. Another successful day, 16 Teams, Morning tea, 2 x Games of 11 Ends or the Bell. Smorgasbord Lunch assortment of freshly made salads and baked Ham & chicken, followed by Cheese cake. All done by Kitchen Volunteers, a big hit went over extra well,thank you. Drop Into Donnybrook 6th April, another Successful day, Visiting in teams, one game Of 19 Ends or bell. Morning Tea, Smorgasbord lunch, prize Money Raffles. Drop into Donnybrook Friday s are very Successful day s. A nice atmosphere seeing all of the happy familiar faces having a game of bowls on the green. 11 The Doors are Still Opened, We have increased our Membership, Repaired the roof and ceilings, fixed leaking pipes. Cleaned the carpets and chairs, improvements in kitchen, new stove. table cloths. And cookware. Replaced Fridges. And updated the registers to a better business system through Kent Pos Business solutions. Refurbished the bowls carpet green. Replaced and updated the Poker Machines. Also made Improvements to the Membership card system, by having a barcode on back of card Now receiving crab points with every purchase. Appreciation for supporting the Sports Club. Employing Local Staff, Improving the Bistro Meals. Specials Prices Beer sales and Meals. It s your Community Club, Management Committee are Volunteers, donating Their time Without your Support we wouldn t have a Sports Club. We need more Volunteers to work in with us, to Keep the doors opened. To help sell meat raffles, to have your name on a roster, we are only asking To help out just once a month. 12 Bowls reports, Darts & Fishing Club reports will be Published in News Letter Monthly All Reports are to be in by the 16th of June to go into the next News Letter. The News is put together for the your benefit, also new members. So they are aware Of what s Happening, what the Club has to offer, other then Cold Beer. We have a Club to be Proud of, and use the Club for it s full potential. Please encourage your Families, and friends,to be a member, and come along and enjoy your time at the Club, it s a Community Club, without your backup and support. We won t have a Club, please give your club a lot of thought and consideration We Donnybrook are very to have a Sports Club to be Proud of, without it we have Nothing. The Club employs locals. And the Rest are Volunteers, who give there time Unconditionally, to save money. To keep the Club Up and Running. Our Life Member Kevin Chambers is now is taken care of in a Nursing Home. Val Ashton hasn t been well, I hope you are up and about and feeling better soon Val. 13 Donnybrook & district fishing club May 6 at 1:20pm It was our first 6am trip for the year and I for one was glad of the sleep in. Very nice out on the water early on and then the wind kicked in later on, much to everyone's annoyance and then trying to find the right fish spot to get out of the wind was the tricky part. Not a very successful fishing day for the 2 of us in the boat so here's hoping at the end of this month will bring in some lovely fish. There was some excellent quality of fish brought in by other fishing club members who just happen to be where the fish were on that particular day. Looking forward to next trip and another 6am start xxx. Winners May Trip Nice Catch Congratulations
