Young Enterprise Awards Following the success reported in last week s NotW, we are proud to announce that Rachel Kamagira won the Young Achiever of the Year Award and Adam Bengeyfield won a Special Commendation at last week s awards ceremony. Whilst celebrating, we bumped into ex-student Emma Dixon who won the Young Achiever Award three years ago. Emma is now on the YE board and working towards becoming an Accountant.
Art Workshops in the Dulwich Gallery Last week, Year 9 Art students took part in a series of workshops that were run by NADFAS, National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies, at the Dulwich Gallery. The workshops culminated in an art exhibition for friends and family. You can view all the photos taken on the day here:

Handball news Handball training for Year 9/10 boys and girls starts on Monday 19 th May with Dan McMillan. This is to pick the team that will represent Riddlesdown and the Croydon Borough in the London Youth Games at the Copper Box, Olympic Village, in June.
Inter-College Rounders, 2 nd June 2014 During PE lessons female students will be taking part in an inter-college rounders tournament. Teams will be made of nine female students (Miss Davis has the team list) Tutor groups will play each other and there will be a final for each year group.
Football Season Summary Once again, Riddlesdown students have had an outstanding football season this year. It all kicked off at Wilson s School, where the Year 7 and 8 team won their 7-a-side tournaments. Both teams won the Croydon Cup, making that a total of three trophies each. The Year 8s got to the sixth round of the National Cup, but unfortunately missed out on penalties. The Year 9s came runners up in their league, with a 1-0 defeat to Oasis Shirley costing them the league. The Year 10s led their league for the majority of the season, but with two defeats towards the end they finished 4 th. Unfortunately the Year 11s could not defend their title and finished 4 th. The College VI squad were unlucky to miss out on the title, losing out on goal difference to Woodcote School. Well done to all the boys who took part. Mr Langan
Athletics Season in Full Swing Last week, Year 9 students produced some amazing results at an high standard competition. Ayman Gharbaoui 9HMP and Beth Anderson 9HMP both finished 1st in 1500m, Hannah Nelson 9CLK a comfortable 2 nd in the 800m and Ben Pilbeam 9NMM finished 3 rd in the boy s event. The field events showed strength and determination leading to a 1 st in girls high jump for Eleanor Forbes 9ICS and 3 rd in the shot putt for Amber Stoneman 9HMP. The effort from all students was superb, a very successful and enjoyable competition. Mrs Clarke
