4 Adopt A Hole Program The TwinEagles Golf Committees ask everyone to participate in our Adopt-A-Hole program. Both golf courses will become member owned in less than a year. In an effort to ensure the courses are in the best playing condition they can be, not only now but in the future, we are asking you to take ownership of the same Numbered hole on BOTH courses. Every time you play, but especially when you come to YOUR hole, fill in divots, fix ball marks, and ensure the bunkers are properly raked. We have two of the best golf courses anywhere - let's make sure they play that way! Holes on BOTH courses have been alphabetically assigned by your last name as follows - we appreciate your pride of ownership: Hole # 1 A s #2 B s #3 C s #4 D s #5 - E and F #6 G s #7 H s #8 - I, J and K #9 - L and thru Ma s # 10 - Mc thru Mu s #11 - N and O #12 P s #13 - Q and R #14 - S thru So #15 - Sp thru T #16 - U thru Wi # 17 - Wo thru Z #18 - Everyone make our finishing hole the best in Florida! THANKS FOR TAKING OWNERSHIP OF OUR PIECE OF PARADISE AND MAKING IT PLAY GREAT FOR EVERYONE! The TwinEagles Golf Committees
5 Suttie Golf Dr. Suttie Tip of the Week: Ladies Tip: Get Rid of Your Chicken Wing Many of the ladies have collapsed or bent arms just after impact. This is called a chicken wing left arm and it saps you of power. In most cases it is a result of using your arms from the top of your swing instead of rotating your body. Next time out try to use your legs and rotate your body coming down instead of simply swinging your arms and you will get rid of the power sapping Chicken wing. Men s Tip: Get Rid of that Tension All of you guys have one main problem: Too Much Tension in your body when you swing a golf club. Generally, this causes a quick, jerky and incomplete swing. Next time out, try to relax your grip, arms and shoulders right before you hit. This should give you a more complete backswing and more power. Notice: Sorry for the late notice but the monthly clinic scheduled for March 5th is cancelled. It will be on March 12th at 11am. We will talk about Irons Hybrids. The PGA has requested me to be their guest speaker in Salt Lake City. Thankyou! 17 TwinEagles Book Club We had a fun February book club meeting where everyone got very passionate about Fredrik Backman's Beartown. The novel is about a small dying town in Sweden whose only hope of survival is to become the home of the winning junior hockey team. What follows however is an incident that divides the town and the team. The novel is about hockey (or any sport/activity that involves an entire community), but it is also about small towns, class differences, parenting styles, frendships, and very contemporary social problems. The characters are unique and beg to be understood. Backman is a master at introducing words/phrases which cause his readers to make assumptions--and then later learn that the words had a different meaning. When members are still discussing the book after they leave the meeting, when they have comments/questions that require them to re-address the book, when the themes touch them very deeply--it's a worthwhile read, and we all agreed on that! We will read Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng for Tuesday, March 20, and meet in the ladies locker room lounge at 4pm. If you are interested in joining our discussions and receiving our group s, please contact Sharon Barry (sseb327@comcast.net) Bible Study Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. in the Twin Eagles Clubhouse (Open Dining Room or Conference Room) For additional information contact: Thelma Johnson at or thelmajohnson38@hotmail.com. Please bring your Bible, a pen and note pad. We sincerely welcome returning members and new members. Both men and women are welcome. March 7, 28 April 3, 10, 17, 24 May 5 Hand Arts Group If you enjoy hand arts of any kind, ie: knitting, crochet, quilting, basket weaving, card making, etc. and enjoy the friendship of other crafters, please bring your project & supplies and join us. We meet Thursdays from 1:00-4:00 in the Ladies Locker Room. Questions, please contact Sue Jeffries (C) (E) suejeffries7@sbcglobal.net Men s Poker To sign up for or to inquire about the TE Poker Group, please contact: Jules Ghedina JGhedina@yahoo.com; or phone (239) Poker events are usually held twice a month, on Wednesdays, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. The Poker group is a social event and not a gambling event. So come out for a good time and socialize with some of your members and neighbors Pub style food such as: Pizza, Wings, tenders, Mini Meatball subs, sandwiches wraps, etc will be served each week on a rotating basis. Preliminary Poker Schedule: Mar 7th, 21st April 4th, 18th / May 2nd, 16th, 30th
