As peak season approaches, more and more members will be utilizing the practice range and facilities. While TwinEagles is fortunate to have a very large practice facility, it s important for golfers to be informed on the best divot pattern to maintain. Below is the USGA s explanation and samples of three divot patterns: The linear divot pattern involves placing each shot directly behind the previous divot. Barbara Driscoll of the Naples Bridge Center has agreed to offer a 6 week Bridge course here at the Club. With your input, whether she offers Bridge Basics I for beginners, or Bridge Basics II for the novice player, will be determined. Minimum participation in the class is 12 students. Please let me know ASAP whether you are interested in Bridge Basics I which will provide essential information for the beginning Bridge player (or offer a review for those who want to update their skills); Or Bridge Basics II which will introduce the novice player to commonly used conventions as well as reinforce proper techniques for the play of the hand. Classes will be held on Tuesdays on the following dates, from 10 to noon: January 10, 17, and 24 February 7, 21, and 28 The cost is $90 per person which includes a text as well as instruction and materials. We like to select books that one or more members have already read so that we can get firsthand recommendations.
