3 Dear Players and Delegates It is with great honor and pride that the Senior Golf Association of Finland will take on the challenge of hosting the XXXVII ESGA Senior Team Championship & Cup in the time period of 6th to 11th of August This event will be a significant milestone for us as the organizer and will certainly give our steadily increasing number of competitive Finish senior golfers vital inspiration for improving their own game, by watching the best senior golfers in Europe in action. The Championship will be held at Aulanko Golf Club, in the city of Hämeenlinna, located 100 km from the capital Helsinki. The Cup will be held at Tawast Golf Club, located just outside the city of Hämeenlinna. Both courses are among the highest rated in Finland. The organizing staffs will do their utmost to present the courses in the best condition possible. The transfers between the hotels and the golf courses will be organized through shuttle bus service. The players and delegates will stay at Spa Hotel Aulanko and Sokos Hotel Vaakuna. Both hotels have a reputation for their excellent cuisine and unique style. The official Tournament Office will be located at Spa Hotel Aulanko. The Committee, the members of the Senior Golf Association of Finland and myself welcome you all most heartily. 6 Important Information Important information.1 Registration To register for the Tournament please fill in the necessary Forms on the website..2 Team Registration Registration of the Championship and Cup Teams in the lobby at Spa Hotel Aulanko Monday August 6 th from 12:00 to 20:00..3 Infodesk The Infodesk at Spa Hotel Aulanko will be in operation from Tuesday August 7 th to Friday August 10 th from 07:00 to 20:00.. Tournament Office The Main Tournament Office in the lobby at Spa Hotel Aulanko will be in operation all Tournament Days..5 Transportation Bus transfers from Helsinki Airport to Hämeenlinna (100 km) and vice versa will be arranged for a fee (Booking Form VI). Shuttle Buses will be operating from both hotels to and from the golf courses during the whole competition free of charge..6 Parking & Costs Parking is free of charge at Spa Hotel Aulanko. At Sokos Hotel Vaakuna parking is available for a fee..7 Official Notice Boards All information will be available at the notice boards located at the hotels and at the golf courses..8 Restaurants Several restaurants will be in operation in the hotels and at the golf courses..9 Caddy Room Available for golf bags at the golf courses free of charge..10 Driving Range Practice balls are available at the driving ranges free of charge Pull Trolleys and Golf Carts Pull trolleys are available free of charge at the Championship and Cup Courses. Golf carts are not allowed and electric trolleys are not available. In the President s Cup & Ladieś Tournament golf carts will be provided to all players.

8 Airport, Golf Course and Hotel Transfers 5.2 Transportation Flight Connections Helsinki-Vantaa Airport has direct connections with most European big cities. Bus Transfers are arranged for the teams from Helsinki Airport to Hämeenlinna (100 km) and vice versa at separate cost (Booking Form VI) Ferry Connections There are ferry connections from Tallinn (Estonia) to Helsinki and from Stockholm (Sweden) to Helsinki and Turku (150 km from Hämenlinna) Car Rental Most bigger car rental firms are represented at Helsinki- Vantaa Airport and in the ferry harbours. finland 5.2. 10 6-11 AUGUST 2018 HÄMEENLINNA - FINLAND The Characteristics of Aulanko Golf Club 6.1 Aulanko Golf Club / Eversti Course HOLES: PAR: DISTANCE: BUILT: DESIGN: ,850 M (yellow tee) 2006 Lassi Pekka Tilander 75 years of golf at Aulanko The two golf courses at Aulanko, the historic 9-hole Hugo course and the modern 18-hole Eversti course, are both named after Colonel Hugo Standertskjöld. The Colonel was one of the wealthiest men of his time in Finland and the founder of the English style landscape park at Aulanko in the 1880 s. Hugo, first opened in 190, is the oldest course in Finland still retaining its original routing. 11 The Characteristics of Tawast Golf Club 6.2 Tawast Golf Club HOLES: 18 PAR: 72 DISTANCE: 5,778 M (yellow tee) BUILT: 1987 DESIGN: Reijo Hillberg Tawast Golf course is an 18-hole course in Hämeenlinna, a city in southern Finland only about 100 km from Helsinki, the capital of Finland. This charming course was designed by Architect Reijo Hillberg to be in perfect harmony with the surrounding woodland, the lake and the beautiful buildings of the area. The clubhouse used to function as a horse stable for the Katinen Manor. 12 The Characteristics of Kytäjä Golf Club 6.3 Kytäjä Golf Club / South East Course HOLES: 18 PAR: 71 DISTANCES: 6,369 M (6-tee) 5,930 M (59-tee) 5,536 M (55-tee),887 M (9-tee) BUILT: 2003 DESIGN: Thomas McBroom South East, the older of the two courses at Kytäjä was completed in As the first world-class course in Finland it gained immediate interest and attention. Its position as one of the top course in Finland has only strengthened over the years. The course has a dual personality. The first nine holes are situated in a spacious forest landscape with great variations in elevation. The back nine is more level and open reminiscent of traditional links-style courses. Typical features of the South East course include wide fairways, deep bunkers and large greens. 14 Interesting places to visit in Hämeenlinna 8 Tourist Attractions ( Häme Medieval Castle Häme Castle is one of Finland s medieval royal castles. It is believed to have been built at the end of the 13th century, following the crusade by Swedish Earl Birger to Häme Region. The main castle is now presented as a historical monument. The castle is open for visitors daily from 10 am to 5 pm. Scheduled Water Bus Cruises The water bus company Silver Line makes daily cruises on Lake Vanajavesi. Additional information: Verkatehdas Arts & Congress Centre next to the Hotel Vaakuna. Iittala Glass Factory The Iittala Glass Capital is the place for shopping and visiting Iittala Design Museum situated about half an hour drive from Hämeenlinna to the north by road no 3. Additional information: Aulanko Forest Park The old forest park next to the Spa Hotel Aulanko offers swan lakes, cafés and most beautiful views.
