1 OPEN CLASS DEPARTMENTS Dairy/Beef Feeder/ Dairy Steer Show DEPARTMENT A Superintendents - Putnam County Calf Keepers Dale Schulte Steve Backus Dan Karhoff Mark Knott JUDGING: THURSDAY JUNE 26, :00 PM Order of Show: Dairy feeders, beef feeders, dairy steers, showmanship Limit of two entries in any one class per exhibitor. Classes will be decided after weigh in. Weigh in will be Thursday from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM. Weigh in will be done at the north swine barn scale. Cattle will be shown by weight. Maximum weight for calves is 650 lbs. Only open class cattle brought in will be released after the show. All cattle must be halter broke and led in the ring to show. All feeders and steers must be dehorned and castrated. Entry fee per head is $ Class premium: $10.00 for rst, $7.00 for second and $5.00 for third. Ribbons for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place. Grand Champion: $100.00, Reserve Champion: $50.00 Vehicles cannot block re lanes. Bedding will not be provided. Clean up is owners responsibility. Limited stall space available. Cattle may be shown off trailer. Exhibitors will need to bring own generators if needed. All cattle must pass health regulations. Cattle may be checked by committee members or by veterinarian. No building, painting or altering of animal permitted. All open class cattle must enter through west gate entrance, Gate 4. Beef DEPARTMENT B Co-Superintendents - Denny Schroeder Josh Wolke Entries Close June 22, 2014 JUDGING: SATURDAY JUNE 28, :30 PM Putnam County Exhibitors must purchase a $25 membership ticket. Non-county exhibitors must purchase a $25.00 $6.00 entry fee per head per class except classes which are $6.00 per entry. All cattle must be on grounds between 4 PM - 8 PM on Friday, June 27, Only Open Class Cattle released after show on Saturday, June 28. Limit of two entries in any one class per exhibitor. Exhibitor must have Registration papers ready for inspection by judges and superintendents at their request. Animals without quality and showing neglect shall not receive premiums. All cows must be exhibited with calf at side. No bedding furnished. All fans must be plugged into a power strip. No fans are allowed to blow air from behind livestock. All fans will blow on leadside of steers and beef feeders. No nails or screws may be used, however you may use wire to hold fan cages. All violators will be told to leave grounds. All cattle will be governed by the following schedules and premiums. Open to all counties that are open to Putnam County. Exhibitors must be able to prove ownership 60 days before day of show Open to all Purebred, Crossbred, and Grade Steers All steers must be broke and be led in the ring to show All steers must be Polled or Dehorned Steers must be showed by weight Steers will be weighed between 2:00-3:00 PM. Approximately 10 steers per class Top three from each class will be eligible to compete for nal placing Top Five Places: $50, $40, $30, $20, $10 OPEN CLASS SHOWMANSHIP will follow the Open Class Steer Show COWKIDS SHOWMANSHIP Open to kids age 8 and under will follow Open Class Showmanship. Open to counties that are open to Putnam County Each animal is allowed to be shown in only one class Entry fee is $10.00 per head paid at time of weigh-in All purebreds, crossbreds and grades - both barrows and gilts are eligible Cryptorchids and late castrates will be disquali ed All hogs (terminal) will be sold to a local buyer for that days market, except hogs also shown in Jr. Fair All hogs will be excused from the fairgrounds when loaded by purchaser. The exhibitor of the excused hogs will receive payment directly from the purchaser or through Putnam County Ag Society. All entries will be identi ed, weighed, (of cially) and classed starting at 8:00-9:30 AM, SATURDAY, JUNE 28. Hogs must be entered in actual owners name. Example: 4-H exhibitors must enter in their own name. Hogs must be entered in class they are in. Entries must be paid at weigh time SATURDAY, JUNE 28. Entries that are also entered in Junior Fair may also be entered in Open Class Market Hog Show. These hogs will not be weighed Saturday, June 28. However, Junior exhibitors must present weight, sex and tag number information instead at this time. Weight will be veri ed using Jr. Fair weight information. Entry fee must be paid at this time. No entry accepted unless it can be placed in a listed category. Entries submitted in wrong category will be disquali ed. Presentation: Wines must be made from grapes, berries, fruit, vegetables, or a blend of these. Ingredients may be fresh, canned, dried, concentrated or preserved items. Still wines MUST be in smooth bottles and approximately 750ml capacity. May be closed with cork, screw topper or plastic topper. Wine must be within 1 inch of cork or closure. Sparkling White $10.00 Homebrewed Beer DEPARTMENT - E Exhibits must be in place between 12:00 Noon and 4:00 PM, Competition is open to all amateur brewers 21 years of age and older. All entries must be homemade and intended for private, noncommercial use. Blending or addition of any commercial beer/ale is strictly prohibited. Entries will be judged according to Beer Judge Certi cation Program style standards. The brewer will be responsible for entering the appropriate category to be judged. Each bottle must be labeled with a lot number, description of the beer, and style. The top 3 beers in each ight as determined by the judges will be awarded rst, second and third places. The rst place beer from each ight will compete in a best of show round. Disquali ed beers may be judged, but will not be eligible for awards. Judges may decide not to award all places in any category. Judges decisions are nal. PRESENTATION: Beer may be made from malt, hops, grain, fruit/vegetable/juice or any other product commonly used in making beer. Bottles must be free of all labels, raised labels, or identifying markings. Bottles must be 7 to 16 oz. sizes. EXCEPTION: Entries in Class #7, Belgian and French Ales, may be entered in bottles and seals appropriate to the style. Any type of standard closures are allowed including crown caps, ip-top (Grolsch) style stoppers and cork & wire stoppers. Caps which have logos or lettering must be blacked out.
