2 Race 1 murray downs golf & country club 2yo maiden plate metres: River Lee 5 th placegetter. Prior to correct weight rider Christine Puls viewed the Stewards patrol film before deciding not to lodge an objection. Shortly after the start had to be checked and lost ground when tightened for room between Laoban Tai Tai and All Starr Courage which after beginning awkwardly was taken in off its course by Backstreet Alley which also began awkwardly. Over-raced and raced greenly in the early and middle stages. Passing the 250m was steadied and became unbalanced when tightened for room between Duanette which when laying out shifted out marginally and Secret Reward (Harry Coffey) which when laying in shifted in further when placed under pressure. Harry Coffey was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR137(a) and notified he must make far greater effort to keep his mount straight when in similar circumstances. Approaching the winning post had to be steadied when racing to the inside of Secret Reward which when racing greenly shifted in. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn (500m) and in the early part of the straight. All Starr Courage Began awkwardly and was then severely hampered when bumped heavily by Backstreet Alley which shifted in on jumping away. Raced wide without cover throughout. Backstreet Alley Began awkwardly, shifted in and made heavy contact with All Starr Courage. Raced greenly in the straight. Laoban Tai Tai Passing the 800m was steadied when racing in restricted room to the inside of All Starr Courage which shifted in marginally before being straightened by its rider. Duanette Approaching the 200m bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced by River Lee which shifted in after becoming unbalanced. Gave ground over the concluding stages. Rider Jack Hill reported that his mount felt awkward in its action over the concluding stages and as such he eased it down. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Roddandtodd Passing the 250m shifted out abruptly to avoid the heels of River Lee which had become unbalanced. Race 2 swan hill bus lines 3yo maiden plate metres: Safdie Connections advised it was their intention for the gelding to be ridden with cover circumstances permitted. Began well and settled in a forward position with cover. Held up for clear running from the 500m until approaching the 350m. Mallan Maneuver Slow to begin. Its Chief Slow to begin. Sandtina Slow to begin.

3 Kailua Shortly after the start became unbalance when bumped by Graphite Joe which shifted out. Flattering Passing the 800m when racing greenly was steadied off the heels of Destinys Revenge (Patrick Holmes) which shifted in when not quite sufficiently clear. Patrick Holmes was notified to exercise more care when in similar circumstances. Heluva Diva Lay in and away from other runners rounding the home turn (500m). King Wimbble Hung in for the entire straight (500m) and raced greenly and proved difficult for apprentice Melissa Julius to ride the gelding out in her normal manner. Unique Lovely Near the 300m held up for a run before changing course to the inside of Heluva Diva to obtain clear running. Western Prussia Raced wide without cover. Streets Of Harlem Performed poorly. Apprentice rider Jessica Eaton reported that the filly hung out throughout placing her at a disadvantage throughout. A post race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Destinys Revenge Performed below market expectations. Rider Patrick Holmes could offer no explanation for the geldings performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Struck Out Apprentice Georgina Cartwright reported that the gelding hung out throughout. Race 3 luke jockey saddles maiden plate metres: Bit Of A Lad Dwelt at the start and lost ground. Near the 500m tightened for room and had to be checked. Final Flame Over-raced early got and its head up on several occasions when being steadied off the heels of other runners. Settled and raced more tractably from the 1400m onwards. Rider Patrick Holmes was fined the sum of $300 under the provisions of AR145 for weighing in in excess of 1/2kg over the fillys declared weight. New Indian Rupee Hung out under pressure in the straight. Hellraiser Gave ground quickly over the concluding stages. Rider Jack Hill could offer no explanation for the geldings performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Helstar Raced in a more forward position. Rider Jye McNeil explained that the intention was to settle back on the gelding, however after beginning well settled in a more forward position than intended. Approaching the 1800m had to be steadied off the heels of Hellraiser (Jack Hill) which shifted in when not quite sufficiently clear. Jack Hill was advised to exercise far greater care when shifting ground in similar circumstances.

4 Fortunas Boy Passing the 1600m got its head up and raced ungenerously when overracing for a short distance. Wadham Blues Rider Declan Bates accidentally dropped his whip near the 400m. Patrick Holmes (Final Flame) Pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a), the carelessness being that near the 500m he permitted his mount to shift out whilst riding it along when insufficiently clear of Bit Of A Lad which was then tightened out onto Legendary Lad (NZ) before then having to be checked and as a result losing its rightful running. Patrick Holmes licence to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence at midnight 13 June 2017 and to expire at midnight 24 June (11 meetings, 3 metropolitan, 8 provincial). In assessing penalty Stewards deemed the incident to be in the mid range and took into account Patrick Holmes guilty plea and record. Race 4 swan hill stockfeeds 0-58 handicap (1) metres: Not A Blemish Passing the 1000m when over-racing and was obliged to be checked off the heels of Our Dexter when the pace slackened. Lay in under pressure in the straight. Honest John Over-raced passing the 1000m and got its head up when racing in restricted room to the inside of Our Dexter. Spicy Mac Near the 900m shifted out off the heels of Presidential Joy and then was taken out off its course further by that gelding which shifted out shortly after this. Brushed on the hindquarters near the 200m by Bellzig and became unbalanced. Presidential Joy Shifted out passing the 900m. Antagonist Approaching the 400m shifted in and made heavy contact with the running rail for a short distance when hanging in. Continued to hang in for the remainder of the race and then was held up for a run from the 200m until the end of the race and finished the race off not fully tested. Our Dexter Approaching the 200m was disappointed for a run to the inside of Tricky Glen. Then raced in restricted room to the inside of that gelding before obtaining a clear run inside the 100m. Bellzig Hung in under pressure in the straight. Passing the 200m was brushed by Spicy Mac and as a result became unbalanced. The Sands Lay in under pressure in the straight. Approaching the 100m had to be eased when disappointed for a neat run between Tricky Glen and Honest John. Passing the 100m was struck over the nose by the whip of another rider. Warrior Lady Raced wide without cover throughout. Tricky Glen Performed below market expectations. Rider Jarrod Fry reported that the gelding raced in a flat manner today. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any

5 obvious abnormalities. Trainer Brendan McCarthy will be contacted in the forthcoming days to ascertain if any matter has arisen which may have affected the performance. Race 5 think water 0-58 handicap (2) metres: Our Project Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover throughout. Performed poorly and below market expectations. Rider Jason Benbow stated that the gelding was worked up prior to the race and then when placed under pressure in the straight failed to respond to his riding. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Create A Stir Began awkwardly and raced ungenerously in the early stages. Held up from the 200m until near the 100m before then obtaining a clear run. Harlem Star Raced wide without cover throughout. Checked near the 100m to avoid the heels of Dungas Due which shifted out. Florever Special Held up for a clear run from approaching the 200m until approaching the 100m. Soldiers Image Raced wide without cover. Tow Rage (NZ) Performed poorly. Rider Bill Egan could offer no explanation for the performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Attack The Line Apprentice Lachlan King pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR137A(5)(a)(ii) and was fined the sum of $1000 for using his whip four times more than permitted prior to the 100m. In arriving at penalty Stewards took into account the totality of his whip use and his record. Throughout this inquiry apprentice Lachlan King was assisted by Apprentice Jockey Coach Mr Matthew Pumpa. Lachlan King will be referred to the apprentice mentors for further tuition on the matter. Harry Coffey (Dungas Dude) Pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a), the carelessness being that approaching the 100m he permitted his mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of Harlem Star which had to be checked to avoid the heels of Dungas Dude. Harry Coffeys licence to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence at midnight 11 June 2017 and to expire at midnight 18 June (7 meetings, 3 metropolitan, 4 provincial). In assessing penalty Stewards deemed the incident to be in the low range and took into account Harry Coffeys guilty plea and good record. Race 6 north west ag quambatook cup metres: The start of this race was delayed to avoid a clash with The Queensland Derby run at Doomben.

6 Enconti Connections advised it was their intention for the mare to be ridden more forward from its wide barrier than at its most recent starts. Began well, caught extremely wide early in a forward position before being eased to obtain cover in the three wide line near the 1300m. Lakers Lass Reluctant to proceed to the start and kicked the outside running rail. Examined by the RV Veterinary Surgeon and was deemed fit to race. Began awkwardly and lost ground. Approaching the 200m when making ground then had to be steadied off the heels of Golden Fusaichi which had commenced to weaken. Then held up behind that mare for clear running until approaching the 100m. My Gypsy Jane Slow to begin. Dont Have To Yell Began awkwardly and was then hampered when tightened for room between other runners. Apprentice Melissa Julius dropped her whip passing the 200m. Coco Set Over-raced early and got its head up on numerous occasions when being steadied in the early stages. Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race. Golden Fusaichi Performed below market expectations. Rider Jessica Payne stated the mare raced flat and in her opinion had come to the end of its current preparation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slower than recovery rate and was suffering a case of the thumps. Our Henrietta Apprentice Jessica Eaton reported in her opinion the mare had come to the end of its current preparation. Trainer Dane Smith confirmed that the mare will now be sent for a spell. Race 7 swan hill bus lines f&m bm64 handicap metres: Miss Chaparral Began awkwardly and then had to be steadied when tightened for room between Del Rios (NZ) and Strangest Dream (NZ). Near the 200m was hampered and taken out off its course by Strangest Dream (NZ) (Jarrod Fry) which had shifted out to obtain a clear run. Jarrod Fry was notified to exercise far greater care when shifting ground in future. Latin Wanda - Bounded on jumping. Performed below market expectations. Rider Dean Holland stated that the mare travelled well in the early and middle stages however when placed under pressure failed to respond to his riding in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Amiees Choice Began awkwardly unbalancing its rider Jack Hill. Hard Spark Over-raced early and approaching the 900m when over-racing had to be steadied off the heels of Great Panache. Performed below market expectations. Rider Harry Coffey could offer no explanation for the performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Strangest Dream Held up from the entrance to the straight (500m) until approaching the 200m.

Apprentice Jordan Grob stated that although being caught wide throughout the event, the mare travelled well though when placed under pressure in the straight failed to respond to his riding. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Race 8 big4 swan hill 0-58 handicap metres: Toffatin Connections advised it was their intention for the gelding to be ridden more forward than its most recent starts. Bounded on jumping away and as a result lost ground. Settled in a midfield position. Miss Octette Began awkwardly and became unbalanced and when bumped by King Joffer (NZ) which shifted out after being taken out slightly by Shark Magic. Raced wide without cover throughout. Shark Magic Near the 1300m was obliged to steady when tightened for room by Bel Attrait (Jason Benbow) which shifted in when not sufficiently clear. Jason Benbow was reprimanded under the provisions of AR137(a) and notified he must he ensures he is sufficiently clear of other runners when shifting ground in future. Near the 400m shifted out slightly and made contact with True Kisses and became unbalanced. Roboosto Hung out under pressure in the straight. Affectation Raced wide without cover throughout. King Joffer (NZ) Over-raced in the middle stages. True Kisses Shifted in slightly near the 400m and made contact with Shark Magic and became unbalanced. Laid out under pressure in the straight. Free Willy Apprentice Chelsea MacFarlane reported that the gelding lay out under pressure over the concluding stages. Bel Attrait Performed below market expectations. Rider Jason Benbow reported that the gelding over-raced early and for this reason settled in a more forward position than is its normal pattern.
