Shortly after, SPOOKY BUT KOOKY (1) checked off the back of SIMPLY SPUD (2). SHINING HALO (5) hit the running rail, on the turn off the back straight. SIMPLY SPUD (2) checked off the heels of CARA MACK FLASH (3), on the home turn. CARA MACK FLASH (3) and EASY SLOY BOY (7) came together, in the home straight. 6 RACE 6 CATHOLIC PARISH HOUSIE STAKES 5 TH GDE 515M WINNER NIC S KARMA (2) ASTELLA (8) was slow to begin. MISTER PURPLE (6) checked off the heels of WIGHTON (3), in the run to the first turn. BLOOD BROTHERS (1) checked off the heels of MISTER PURPLE (6), passing the catching pen. FORKAY DUDE (7) hampered BLOOD BROTHERS (1), on the turn off the back straight. WIGHTON (3) eased on the home turn when leading, before turning its head outwardly towards NIC S KARMA (2) and marring that greyhound, entering the home straight. At the conclusion of the event stewards reviewed the race footage after having concerns with the lure distance on the first turn. Stewards felt the lure may have been shorter than the minimum required distance of five metres for a short distance. However; were comfortably satisfied that no greyhound had been substantially inconvenienced. Acting under GAR rule 55 (1) all clear was given on the numbers 2, 3, 5 & 6. WIGHTON (3), was stood down from competing at Gosford for 28 days under GAR 69A (2) (a), for failing to purse the lure, and the greyhound must complete one satisfactory trial with two others. AVATAR JET (4) raced very wide on the first turn, severely checking SPRITELY DANCER (6) and JUDGEMATIC (9). MAKE A MILLION (7) was slow to begin. GLEESON LANDING (4) had to check, shortly after the start. RIVERVIEW ROGUE (3), ART OF STOKES (5), TIVOLI DANCER (6), MAKE A MILLION (7) and IRINKA LYN (8) came together on the turn into the back straight, worst affected were ART OF STOKES (5) and MAKE A MILLION (7). GLEESON LANDING (4), ART OF STOKES (5) and MAKE A MILLION (7) raced tightly on the home turn, causing ART OF STROKES (5) to check. GLEESON LANDING (4) checked off the back of MAKE A MILLION (7) entering the home straight and shifted out colliding heavily with ART OF STROKES (5), causing both greyhounds to lose valuable ground. BEBINGTON (2), ME GINGER (3), ROAD TO LULU (4), BIG BANG TEARS (6) and EBBY CHANCE (7) came together entering the home straight on the first occasion. Worst affected were BEBINGTON (2) and BIG BANG TEARS (6). As a result of this incident, FLASH LOCK (1) had to check. ROAD TO LULU (4) hampered ME GINGER (3), on the turn off the home straight. Acting under GAR 86 (ag) Mr Watkins was reprimanded. When assessing penalty stewards took into account it was Mr Watkins first offence under this rule.
