1 NEWSLETTER MARCH 2011

2 NEXT COMMITTEE MEETING WILL BE ON WEDNESDAY 13th,April,2011.IF THE MEETING IS RELOCATED COMMITTEE MEMBERS WILL BE NOTIFIED, OTHER MEMBERS PLEASE CONTACT DEBBIE MULLINS ON IF YOU INTEND TO COME ALONG. ALL PHRC MEMBERS ARE WELCOME TO COME ALONG AND JOIN IN ANY DISCUSSIONS ABOUT THE FUTURE OF OUR CLUB. Samantha Mullins has volunteered to be our helper organiser for these events, so be expecting a call/ from her if you don t get in first. As part of your membership each year you are expected to either pay a non-helper fee or donate aprox 10 hours of help at comps or working bees. Helpers will get helper vouchers. LERR COMMITTEE & NEWS Nicole Church, Sheree Learmonth and Glenn Dear. If anyone has any suggestions to improve our grounds/facilities, please let someone from the LERR committee know. President's report Daylight savings is nearly finished but it's still warm weather so I hope you're all still motivated to ride! We have our show coming up in a couple of weeks so get your manes and tails trimmed and give your horse a good coat of showsheen because it would be great to see all the ribbons taken home by Peninsula members!! Once again, The Tack Box is sponsoring our show, and we'll have prizes for Champions and Reserves. If you are riding, you are required to help pack up on the day. There are several other jobs which need to be filled, such as stewards, card secretary, canteen, etc on the day so if you have a few spare hours to help, please let Sammi know. We have scheduled a working bee on the morning of Saturday 19th, the week before the show, with a sausage sizzle lunch afterwards. We are lucky enough to have the use of Sam and Stuart Shepard's loader again which helps hugely! There is a jobs list and it would be much appreciated if people could bring chainsaws, whipper snippers, etc to aid in clearing the XC tracks and tidying the grounds ahead of our Show and also the Short Course Horse Trials. Short Course HT will be on the 10th April, a great opportunity for a practice run before Bulla's official HT the weekend after. Jumping scaredy cats- there is also a chicken run class for you with no time limit and no eliminations. You can even walk it and step over jumps...or go around the really scary ones! Riders are asked to help out for a short time on the day, and we'll need a few people the day before to help number jumps and set up the SJ course. Please let Sammi know if you can help. Some news from committee and LERR: Discussions are underway with LPC regarding extending the concrete area outside the clubrooms and installing some tables. We are also planning on replacing some of our old showjumping equipment with newer, lighter wieght poles, and ensuring all the poles and dazzle boards are matching in length to make setting up courses easier. The pony club has just purchased two portable cross country jumps for grades 1 and 2, and they would like to discuss possible purchase of a few more in various heights. We have also talked about building some fully enclosed yards but are still undecided as to where to put these. A possible position could be on the other side of the toilet block, near the newer wash bay. If anyone has any feedback or suggestions please let a committee member know at rally, or by . It's your club, so have your say! Happy riding, Nicole
