We meet at 6.30 for a meal, with the meeting starting at 7pm. All members are very welcome to attend.

2 Hello all. Hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Year. The festive season has come and gone. We are now in the thick of the eventing season. We have had two events since Christmas with many more on the way. Quercus went off really well. We had huge entries with pony club riders coming out in force to enjoy the new course. Everyone seemed to love the course and we re happy with how it rode. There were a few issues with the water but this seems to be the case with all new water jumps. A few riders missed jumps in the bush which was really just careless course walking. Some riders that I walk the course with memorise each jump with their number as they walk the course this avoids missing jumps and they know exactly which jump is what when discussing it with any official or friends. Good habit to get into. It is a real credit to my committee that ran this event. We finished jumping at 4:00 o clock and after some issues with rider queries we were all finished by 6 o clock. Thanks to all the NTEC members who helped run this event. Special mention goes to Justin, Sandra and their helpers who spent countless hours getting the course ready. Special thanks to Leonie for taking the entries working out the draw and scoring on the day with never a complaint. Thanks to Justin, Sally and Jamie for running the day as efficiently as ever. Thanks to Roger and his helpers for building a very ingenious water jump. We did have some sponsorship in the building of the water jump, Rusty s Excavations, Pages Transport, Shaws Contracting and Sunrise Trailers. Without their help we would not have been able to build it. So please recognise their efforts and contributions. There have been a few riders that have forgotten to pick up their dressage tests please get them on the day or if you really need to leave early you can get them at the next event from the caravan. These are thrown out regularly so don t leave it to long. We can t post out dressage tests as this is another job for an already overworked committee. It is a courtesy to collect your tests and read them, most judges go to quiet a lot of effort to make appropriate comments that will help riders in the future. We have a busy time coming up. Deloraine District Pony Club ODE is on the 15 th February. They are having working bees in the week leading up to the event. NTEC will also be called on to erect the dressage arean s on the Sat 14 th Please try and contribute in some way as they are watching us to see how much work we put in as it will affect how much we need to reimburse DDPC for riding. We will go very close to breaking even and we may even make a loss at this event. I know that the rider support in previous years has been very good so please keep it up. We plan to run another event at Quercus in March and the Northern Champs at Fairlands. Northern Zone Pony Club have asked NTEC to help at Trials. They need helpers over the weekend of March 7 th 8 th and 9 th. They mostly need fence stewards as they can t ask parents of riders to steward. They are having training evenings on 23rd

3 and 26th Feb at TRC Hotel, to train fence stewards for the event. If you are at all interested please let Sally know This event is really worth a look, you will see many of the best riders and horses in the state competing over the 3 days. You need not attend all 3 days but the cross country on a new course at Fairlands will be a must see. Please consider helping out, this will help the relationship between Pony Club and EA clubs. This course will be the same one we will be competing over for our champs. See you all soon. Sue New Members!! Welcome to all our new members!! It has great information about our club, and all you need to know about how to get started, and what to do at your first event. We all do it, it s a fact of life, but just clean it up!! Riders will be nominated at club days to be Poo Police to ensure all poo and hay is cleaned up at the end of day. All poo and hay should be taken home at ALL our VENUES.
