1 My Revelation Carriage Classic Longview Horse Park July 7 & 8, 2018 Beautiful Longview Horse Park will once again host the My Revelation Carriage Classic this summer. Our show is dedicated to the outstanding driving heritage represented by the woman whose family once owned these grounds, Loula Long Combs. She raised and drove her champion carriage horses and ponies here in the heyday of Longview Farm, bringing home trophies from all over the United States and Europe. 4 OUR OFFICIALS John Greenall, ADS (R) Judge John Greenall has been involved with carriage driving for 45 years, making him one of the pioneers of the sport. He has served as president of the American Driving Society (ADS), chair of the Pleasure Driving Committee, and president of the Carriage Museum of America (CMA). John has officiated at most of the major carriage shows in North America and currently is an ADS and USEF (United Equestrian Federation) R carriage judge. He has traveled extensively through his involvement with horses to over 45 states, and 9 foreign countries. John s driving and showing experience has ranged from singles, pairs, tandem, unicorn and four-in hand. For many years he has driven Morgans that he had bred and raised; also Friesians imported from Holland. He has completed over 3,000 miles in distance riding and driving events as well, and is joint master of the North Country Hounds fox hunt in Vermont where he hunts his driving horses. John s private collection of restored vehicles, along with harness and carriage related items, is the result of a lifetime of research and treasure hunting. His main area of expertise is in proper turnout of antique and traditional vehicles. You may have read his articles on "What is Right About This Turnout" in the Driving Digest magazine. He enjoys passing the traditions of driving onto others by helping first time carriage drivers and giving tours of his collection to historical groups and driving enthusiasts. John has also graciously agreed to give written turnout critiques to competitors requesting them at our show. Melissa I. Boyd, ADS (R) Technical Delegate Melissa Boyd is a clinician, coach, competitor, and horse show official for both riding and driving. Her life with horses has been an eclectic mix from 4-H to various breed horse shows, riding sidesaddle, carriage driving and Fjord evaluations. In the early 1980 s, Melissa met carriage judge, Audrey Bostwick who introduced her to the world of carriage driving. In 2004 she became a Judge and Technical Delegate for both the ADS and USEF, officiating at pleasure shows, combined driving events and recreational drives throughout the United States and Canada. At the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Kentucky, Melissa was invited to participate in the derby driving demonstration. In 2016 she became a Fjord Horse Evaluator for the Norwegian Fjord Horse Registry. She has been a clinician at CanDrive in Invermere, BC, Canada and at the National Drive, where she has been on the staff since Her mission, expand the sport of driving and riding; keeping my customers safe with their horses; helping them to achieve their competitive and recreational goals; and making sure everyone has a lot of fun along the way.

Placings are determined on a low total time basis Pick Your Route To be driven over a course of obstacles (paired markers) with no set route. Typically, obstacles in this type of class are not measured for each entry but are set at 80 inches (200 cm) at the start of the competition. After passing through the Start markers, the driver proceeds through each obstacle to the designated Finish markers, choosing his own route. Each obstacle and the start and finish lines may be driven from either direction. Driving an obstacle more than once or through the Start/Finish lines out of sequence will be considered off course. Course faults are scored as penalty seconds and are added to the driver s elapsed time. Placings are determined on a low total time basis. Placings will be determined on a low fault basis (i.e., those with fewer faults finish ahead of those with more faults). Course faults should be one fault for each commenced second over or under the optimal time and are added together for a total score. Time will decide ties for those with equal fault totals. Obstacle courses are on grass, maps will be provided in your packets at check-in. SPECIAL!!! TURNOUT CRITIQUE SPECIAL!!! Take advantage of an outstanding opportunity to have your turnout individually critiqued during your Turnout class by an acknowledged pleasure turnout expert, our Judge, John Greenall.
