3 BUFFALO BEAUTS PLAYER PROFILES 4 EMILY JANIGA FORWARD COLLEGE: Mercyhurst HOMETOWN: East Aurora, NY 2 PAIGE HARRINGTON DEFENSE COLLEGE: U of Mass. Amherst HOMETOWN: Mansfield, MA Janiga was co-captain her senior year at Mercyhurst and was named CHA Player of the Year, CHA Scoring Champion, and First Team All-Conference. Emily was invited to participate in USA Hockey Women s National Festival in Lake Placid, New York during August of In her senior season, Harrington collected 26 points (10g, 16a) in 28 games, including an assist in the ACHA Women s DI National Tournament. She co-captained the Minutewomen to an ECWHL Conference title in 2015, and was named as a First Team All-Conference player and a First Team All-American that same season. Harrington played for Team USA in the 2013 and 2015 Winter World University Games, winning a bronze medal in her first year with the squad, and was an assistant captain for both squads. 6 ASHLEY VESCI 3 KELLEY STEADMAN FORWARD COLLEGE: Robert Morris U HOMETOWN: Pittsburgh, PA As a junior at Robert Morris, Vesci served as an assistant captain and was elevated to captain her senior year. Ashley recorded 13 goals, including two game winners, and 10 assists in 35 games played her senior year. She ranks tied for 10th all-time in Colonials history in game-winning goals (four) and tied for 10th in career plus/minus (plus-six). FORWARD COLLEGE: Mercyhurst HOMETOWN: Pittsburgh, PA In her time at Mercyhurst, Steadman was named the 2012 CHA Player of the Year, 2012 CHA Top Scorer, and to the 2012 CHA First Team. For Team USA, Steadman is a Four-time Women s National Festival invitee (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014), twotime gold medalist at IIHF Women s World Championships (2011, 2013), attended three Winter Camps (2010, 2011, 2012), Member of two U22 Select Teams (2011, 2012), and participated in the 2007 Girls 17/18 Player Development Camp; 2006 Girls 15/16 Player Development Camp; 2005 Girls 15/16 Player Development Camp. Kelley played in 10 games for the Beauts last season and had 13 goals and 7 assists with a 2.00 points per game average. She also scored the first ever goal in a NWHL All-Star game. 7 EMILY PFALZER DEFENSE COLLEGE: Boston College HOMETOWN: Buffalo, NY In her 4 year career at Boston college, Pfalzer was Named a First Team All-American and First Team Hockey East All Star her senior year, Hockey East Defenseman of the Year and a First Team Hockey East All-Star as a Junior, and was named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team and was Boston College Freshman Scholar Athlete of the Year in her freshman season. For Team USA, Emily was a part of 2 IIHF World Championship gold medal teams and 1 gold medal winning U18 World Championship team. Pfalzer was the captain of the Beauts last season and was a captain at the first NWHL All-Star game.
4 8 KRISTINA LAVOIE 11 LISA CHESSON FORWARD COLLEGE: U of New Hampshire HOMETOWN: Fonthill, ON, CAN Lavoie was named Hockey East Bauer Rookie of the Year in her freshman year at the University of New Hampshire and was a unanimous selection to the Hockey East All-Rookie team, as well as a Hockey East Honorable Mention All-Star. DEFENSE COLLEGE: Ohio State HOMETOWN: Plainfield, IL In her time at Ohio State, Chesson scored 89 points in 145 career games, as well as serving as an assistant captain for the Buckeyes. For Team USA, Lisa was a part of the silver medal Olympic team in 2010, 2 gold and 1 silver medal winning IIHF World Championship teams, and 1 gold at the Four Nation s cup. 9 MEGAN BOZEK 15 ANNE SCHLEPER DEFENSE COLLEGE: U of Minnesota HOMETOWN: Buffalo Grove, IL DEFENSE COLLEGE: U of Minnesota HOMETOWN: St. Cloud, MN In her time at the University of Minnesota, Bozek was named the Minnesota Golden Gophers Female Athlete of the Year for , to the CCM Hockey Women s Division I All-Americans, First Team in , the 2011 WCHA Tournament team, the 2010 Second Team All-WCHA, and the 2010 WCHA All-Rookie Team. Megan also served as a team captain for the gophers during her senior year. Megan has been a part of the 2014 Olympic silver medal team, 2 gold and 1 silver IIHF World Championship teams, and the 2009 gold medal U18 IIHF World Championship teams for the United States. After Graduation, Bozek spent a year in the CWHL for the Toronto Furies before she came to the Beauts for their inaugural season of the NWHL where she skated in 16 games contributing 13 points. Schleper finished her collegite career playing in 159 games at Minnesota finishing her career as the school record holder in career games played and as second place in the Gopher record book for career points by a defenseman. Her senior year she earned the All-WCHA First Team award, was academic All-WCHA, and was named to the WCHA Final Face-off All-Tournament team. Anne represented team USA while winning silver at the 2014 Olympics and 3 gold and 1 silver medal in IIHF World Championship play. 10 SARAH CASORSO DEFENSE COLLEGE: U of British Columbia HOMETOWN: Kelowna, B.C., CAN Named team captain her senior year, Roesler finished her collegiate career with 52 points in 141 games was named the team s best defenseman, and was named to the Nutmeg Classic All- Tournament team. In international play, Cydney competed and won silver medal at 2011 Women s Under-18 World Championship in Stockholm, Sweden playing for Team Canada, and won gold at the 2012 Women s Under-18 World Championship in Prevov & Zlin, Czech Republic. Additionally, she led all defensemen with three goals in five games played at the 2012 World Championship. 17 JORDYN BURNS DEFENSE/FORWARD COLLEGE: U of Minnesota HOMETOWN: Chanhassen, MN Burns spent her freshman year at Syracuse and then transferred to the University of Minnesota, where she was a versatile player who played both forward and defense depending on what the team needed from her.
5 21 DEVON SKEATS 24 HARRISON BROWNE FORWARD COLLEGE: Wilfred Laurier HOMETOWN: Whitby, ON, CAN FORWARD COLLEGE: U of Maine HOMETOWN: Oakville, ON, CAN Skeats skated in 156 games at Wilfred Laurier finishing with 118 points for a.756 points per game career total. After graduating, Devon spent 1 year playing abroad in Austria, playing in 23 games scoring 35 points with a points per game average. She spent the season with the Beauts, skating in 15 games and scoring 14 points. Browne began her collegiate career playing 1 season at Mercyhurst and then transferred to the University of Maine for her final 3 seasons. In her senior year at Maine, Hailey let the team in scoring and plus/minus. Internationally, Browne competed for Canada in the 2011 IIHF World Women s Under 18 Championship in Stockholm, Sweden and won a silver medal. Hailey spent the season with the Beauts finishing with 12 points off of 5 goals and 7 assists. 22 KAYLA PARSONS 25 JACQUIE GRECO DEFENSE COLLEGE: Norwich U HOMETOWN: Fairbanks, AK DEFENSE COLLEGE: Syracuse HOMETOWN: Buffalo, NY Kayla was the only player to appear in all 29 games during a breakout junior campaign, where she set career-highs in goals (11), assists (15) and points (26). She finished second on team with seven powerplay goals Parsons was named to the ECAC East All Conference First-Team and CCM East Region Second-Team All American squads. Jacquie served as an alternate captain in her junior season at Syracuse and was elevated to a tricaptain spot as a senior. The defenseman saw some time as a forward in throughout her collegiate campaign as well. 23 CORINNE BUIE FORWARD COLLEGE: Providence HOMETOWN: Edina, MN Buie skated in 128 games with the Friars amassing 100 points off of 44 goals and 56 assists. Corinne was selected by the Boston Blades in the 2014 CWHL Draft, finishing her rookie season with nine points and participating in the championship game of the 2015 Clarkson Cup. She played the season with the Boston Pride tallying 7 points for the Isobel Cup winning team. 27 SHIANN DARKANGELO FORWARD COLLEGE: Quinnipiac HOMETOWN: Brighton, MI Darkangelo began her collegiate career at Syracuse where she accumulated 42 points over 2 seasons before she transferred to Quinnipiac to finish her collegiate career. While at Quinnipiac, she became the second player in program history to record 16 goals in a single-season and her 40 points in the same season rank as the second highest in school history. In the season, Shiann finished with the 5th-best faceoff percentage of any skater in the country. Darkangelo posted one of the greatest single games in Quinnipiac women s ice hockey history as she tallied five points (three goals, two assists), which is tied for the 2nd-most in a single-game in program history. Shiann also competed for Team Canada in their gold medal run at the 2016 IIHF World Championships. Darkangelo spent the season with the Connecticut Whale where she tallied 13 points in 13 games.
6 28 AMANDA LEVEILLE GOALTENDER COLLEGE: U of Minnesota HOMETOWN: Kingston, ON, CAN In her 116 games at Minnesota, Leville amassed a.947 save percentage and a 1.18 goals allowed average. She earned All-USCHO Second Team honors, was named to the WCHA All-Academic Team and was a Academic All-Big Ten honoree, and was named to the NCAA Frozen Four All- Tournament Team. In international play, Amanda won gold with Canada s National Women s Development Team at the 2016 Nations Cup. 36 KOURTNEY KUNICHIKA FORWARD COLLEGE: RIT HOMETOWN: Fullerton, CA In Kunichika s 4 years at RIT, she played in 129 games, tallying 136 points for a 1.05 points per game average. She is also RIT s all-time leader in career games played. Kourtney also had a 17-game point-scoring streak that spanned the final six games of and the first 11 games of the season. 29 BRIANNE MCLAUGHLIN GOALTENDER COLLEGE: Robert Morris U HOMETOWN: Elyria, OH McLaughlin set an NCAA record of 3,809 career saves at Robert Morris achieving a.910 save percentage, recording at least 50 saves four times as a senior in She was named to the All- CHA First Team and the CHA All-Academic Team in In international play, Brianne won silver with team Canada in the 2010 and 2014 Olympics, 2 golds and a silver at IIHF World Championships, and a gold at the Four Nations Cup. McLaughlin played in 14 games for the Beauts last season with a.907 save percentage. 87 MORGAN BEIKIRCH FORWARD COLLEGE: Robert Morris U HOMETOWN: Livonia, NY Beikirch played for the Colonials from 2005 to In four seasons, the forward from Livonia, N.Y., compiled 28 goals and 41 assists. She made her mark on the Robert Morris record books in her four seasons with the program, and currently ranks eighth all-time in career points (69), tied for eighth in career goals (28), tied for seventh in game-winning goals (five) and tied for seventh in assists. 31 KELSEY NEUMANN GOALTENDER COLLEGE: Plattsburgh HOMETOWN: China Grove, NC Neumann spent her freshman year as a netminder at Clarkson University before she transferred to SUNY Pittsburgh to finish her collegiate career.
