3 OUTLAWS AT BAYHAWKS GAME NOTES THE SERIES Denver has a 13-9 all- me record, including postseason, against the Chesapeake Bayhawks (previously Washington/Bal more). The Outlaws have a 6-5 road record against the Bayhawks and have lost four consecu ve in Chesapeake. The Bayhawks defeated Denver in a high-scoring thriller in the teams' first matchup of the season (5/13 in Denver). -Midfielder Drew Snider led Denver in the matchup with six goals. Chesapeake defeated Denver in the team's second matchup of the regular season. The Bayhawks won the two teams' only other postseason matchup (2012). OUTLAWS IN THE POSTSEASON The Denver Outlaws have qualified for the postseason 12 mes in their 13-season existence. Despite not joining Major League Lacrosse un l 2006, the Outlaws have more postseason appearances than any other team in league history. Denver has an 8-8 all- me postseason record. The Outlaws are 5-1 in their last six postseason games, including championship victories in 2014 and LAW SETS NEW CAREER HIGH FOR POINTS IN A SEASON Eric Law (35 goals, 18 assists) scored his 58th point of the season on Saturday, further surpassing his previous career high of 52 points which he recorded in 2014 and His 58 points ranked fi h in the league and his.563 shoo ng percentage led all MLL players players with 30+ shots. 35 MAC FREEMAN PRESIDENT Mac Freeman is the President of the Denver Outlaws and Chief Commercial Officer for the Denver Broncos. In that role, he has developed the stadium into one of the premier loca ons in the country for spor ng events, concerts and private events. The driving force behind the crea on of the Denver Outlaws Lacrosse Club, Freeman joined the Broncos in January of 2001 a er serving as general manager for the final three years at Mile High Stadium. He possesses experience in every major professional league, having worked in the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, MLL and MLS and has worked in every type of public assembly venue including stadiums, arenas, theaters and amphitheaters. Having spent more than 15 years in private management of public facili es, Freeman brings significant exper se in event booking, fiscal planning and budge ng, and efficient facility opera ons. Prior to his assignment in Denver, Freeman served as the assistant general manager of both Three Rivers Stadium and Mellon Arena in Pi sburgh. While in management now, Freeman comes from a marke ng background, having served as the director of marke ng at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and Sports Arena, Pi sburgh s Mellon Arena and the Richmond Coliseum and Mosque Theater. TONY SEAMAN GENERAL MANAGER Seaman enters his seventh season as general manager of the Denver Outlaws in 2018, having led the team to two MLL Championships in that span. 38 JON COHEN ASSISTANT GM/COACH Cohen enters his 12th season with the Outlaws in 2018, having worked as a visi ng team liaison (2007), head equipment manager ( ) and assistant general manager (2011-present). Cohen was pivotal in bringing in a number of the league s best rookies in 2017, including Zach Currier, Romar Dennis and Finn Sullivan. In 2016, Cohen helped lead the Outlaws to its tenth MLL Playoff appearance, sixth MLL Championship appearance, and second MLL Title in franchise haistory. He helped lead the 2013 Outlaws to becoming the first team in MLL history to finish a season undefeated. Denver set 21 team records and 10 MLL records in 2013 on its way to become the first team in MLL history and just the fourth team in North American major pro sports to finish a regular season undefeated. Overall, Denver has a (.676 pct.) record in Cohen s me with the club, which represents the best record in the league in that span. In his six years as assistant general manager, Denver has amassed a (.683 pct.) record with a +181 goal differen al that is more than 100 goals be er than the second-highest differen al in that span. The longest tenured member of the team s player/coach roster, Cohen has worked under four head coaches in his first eight years with the Outlaws. Denver has made the playoffs in eight of the nine seasons that Cohen has been on the club s staff. Cohen graduated from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 2009, majoring in Hospitality Management. He played lacrosse at UNLV where he was an All American and Academic All-American defender. Before moving to Colorado, Cohen was a two- me Nevada high school state champion coach at Bishop Gorman in 2008 and In 2009 he was recognized by US Lacrosse as the Nevada High School Assistant Coach of the Year. He is currently the head coach at Heritage High School in Li leton, Colo. JOHN GRANT JR. OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR Grant Jr. enters his second season as offensive coordinator, having recently re red from a pres gious professional lacrosse career. Grant Jr. appeared in 133 games during his 13-year MLL career, scoring 318 goals. The three- me MLL MVP and three- me Offensive Player of the Year totaled 511 points and 195 assists in his career to rank second and fourth in league history, respec vely, in those categories. In his first season as offensive coordinator of the Outlaws, Denver had one of the league s most explosive offenses and boasted the year s Offensive Player of the Year in Eric Law. Appearing in 28 games for the Outlaws from 2014 to 2016, Grant Jr. recorded 59 goals and 53 assists for 112 points. His 54 points in 2014 remains the third-highest total in Outlaws single-season history as he was named MLL Championship Game MVP a er helping the team to their first Steinfeld Trophy in In addi on to his me with the Outlaws, Grant Jr. played for the Ohio Machine, Hamilton Na onals, Rochester Ra lers, Chesapeake Bayhawks and Long Island Lizards. Hois ng the Steinfeld Trophy with four different teams, Grant Jr. won five MLL Championships during his pres gious career ( , 12-14). The University of Delaware alumnus most recently played with the Machine following a mid-season trade from the Outlaws. Grant Jr. currently works as the varsity head coach at Valor Chris an in Highlands Rach, Colo. Before beginning his tenure at Valor High in 2015, Grant Jr. made coaching stops with the Canadian Na onal Team and Rochester Knighthawks in addi on to serving as the Director of Coaching and Player Development for the Evolve Elite Lacrosse Company. Grant, Jr. has achieved unparalleled success in lacrosse, having been a dominant force in professional lacrosse for the past 15 years. Known affec onately by many simply as Jr., he exudes passion and unbridled enthusiasm for lacrosse. Having grown up in a lacrosse household, Coach Jr. had a s ck in his hand before he could walk. In the decades since, he s become an icon in the sport s global landscape and has the hardware to prove it. His passion for the game of lacrosse was handed down from his Hall of Fame father: John Grant, Sr. was a professional with a World Championship of his own. To have his father as his idol gave him the drive and determina on to be one of the game s all- me greats. The lacrosse pedigree extends past the playing surface as Coach Jr. has followed in his father s footsteps and spent his adult life coaching lacrosse all over the world. The love of the game is only surpassed by the love he shares with his wife, Raygen, and their daughter, Gabrayel.
