East Cherokee Dr at SR 140 (PI ) Intersection Improvements & Traffic Signal Modification AMEC, Inc. & Moreland-Altobelli Assoc, Inc. (MAAI) Fall 2019 Plans updated to meet current GDOT standards. GDOT approved ROW plans. Appraisal preparation and review in progress. Utility certification complete. All comments from GDOT FFPR have been addressed. Right-of-way acquisition is proceeding as appraisals are approved by GDOT. Designer and appraiser still working on some cost to cure issues for appraisals. 0/28 Project includes providing right-turn lanes on all quadrants of intersection. GDOT has committed to fund $1,000,000 of construction cost dependent upon approval of environmental document. NEPA document approved ; Utilities certified 4/2018. East Cherokee Drive at South Holly Springs Rd/Thornwood Dr. Intersection Improvements AECOM Winter 2019 Construction and right-of-way plans complete. Plans being updated to meet current GDOT and EPD ES&PC standards. Updated Traffic Signal Warrant Study completed - intersection still does not warrant a traffic signal installation. ACOE permit received on 10/16/2017. Right-of-way acquisition in progress. 3/16 Project includes providing left-turn lanes and deceleration lanes on East Cherokee Drive for both South Holly Springs Road and Thornwood Drive. SR 140 at Darnell Road Intersection Improvements BM&K Construction & Engineering, Inc. TBD Design is being reviewed by County. All utility companies have located their facilities that are in conflict. Plans submitted to GDOT for review. All comments have been addressed. GDOT permit is pending, the County needs to do a traffic count and submit to GDOT. 0/6 Project includes adding left-turn lane from westbound SR 140 to Darnell Road. Canton Road Sidewalk Project (PI ) Installation of sidewalk on west side of Canton Road from Cobb Co line to Stockwood Drive Moreland-Altobelli (MAAI) Spring 2019 Project revised to include 5 ft sidewalk vs 6 ft sidewalk to minimize utility relocations and right-ofway acquisitions. Revised concept report approved by GDOT on 12/21/2017. Parcel appraisals being updated to reflect recent plan changes. Appraisals approved by GDOT. Notice to proceed with right-of-way acquisition issued on 5/2/18. Anticipated bid date is 5/15/19. 6/14 Project is 80% federally funded, designed per GDOT PDP. Concept report has been approved. Updated concept report has been submitted to GDOT. Working with ACOE and marina owners regarding permitting needs and impacts to marina operations. Public Information Open House held in April Consultant reviewing and responding to comments received at PIOH. GDOT design and construct. County to acquire right-of-way. GDOT working to bid with Bells Ferry Road project. County will look at possibility of advanced acquisition of restaurant parcel. Bells Ferry Road at Kellogg Creek Road and Victory Drive Intersection Improvement - Design Southeastern Engineering, Inc. (SEI) 2019 Field surveys are complete. Public Information Open House held in April Plans update per new traffic count information and comments received at PIOH. Consultant is working on latest comments to last plan submittal Intersection improvement(s) to improve traffic flow at the Bells Ferry Road/Kellogg Creek Road/Victory Drive intersection(s). Project also includes improving horizontal alignment on Victory Drive in vicinity of Patriots Park. Current curve does not meet standards for posted speed limit. Towne Lake Area Multi-use Path Multi-use Trail - Design Moreland-Altobelli (MAAI) Spring 2019 Field surveys are complete. Designer working on concept layout. Designer completing Phase I - Towne Lake Hills South Dr to Towne Lake Hills East/West Dr. Consultant is working on comments provided in October, and starting utility coordination. Multi-use trail along Parkside Lane and Towne Lake Parkway, from Towne Lake Hills South Drive to Bells Ferry Road. Will be constructed in phases. Heard Road Extension Scoping Study VHB, Inc. Consultant has completed preliminary alignment and is working on details and cost estimate. Concept with new typical section and project phasing has been submitted to the County for review. Scoping study to determine project scope, schedule and budget. Determine path for potential roadway and right-of-way needs. Determine environmental permitting requirements and potential utility conflicts. Noonday Creek Trail Extension Scoping Study Heath & Lineback Engineers Cobb County has approved alignment to Noonday Park. Revised concept report submitted to GDOT on 12/15/2017. Federal funds have been awarded for design, right-of-way and construction phases. City of Woodstock to solicit RFP's for design services in Fall Scoping study to determine feasibility of extendin Noonday Creek Trail from SR 92 south to Shallowford Road/Noonday Park in Cobb County. County is the project manager - City of Woodstock is funding project. Little Road Widening and improvements - Hickory Road to Vaughn Road Moreland-Altobelli (MAAI) Spring 2019 Preliminary plan comments have been addressed. Plan revisions continue as a result of right-of-way negotiations. Right-of-way acquisition complete. Plans being revised to address right-of-way acquisitions. County to finish contract and bid documents for the culvert portion of project. Completed Plans originally designed in-house. Geotechnical work scheduled for October Preliminary plans being developed for December 2018 Project includes replacement of substandard bridge (one lane - wood deck) on Lower Dowda Mill Road over Sharp Mountain Creek Wrights Mill Road Widen, improve and resurface a substandard width roadway BM&K Construction & Engineering, Inc. Designer is looking at improvements at both ends of the project - up to Wrights Mill Court from south and Wright Mill Way from north. Construction plans 95% complete. Designer working on completing right-ofway plans. Consultant is coordinating with utilities 0/12 Project includes improving vertical alignment and pavement widening of Wrights Mill Road to bring it up to current County standards. Hunter Trail/Hunter Road Widen, improve and resurface a substandard width roadway Southeastern Engineering, Inc. (SEI) Designer updating the final plans with utility comments and has submitted plans to County for review. Right-of-way acquisition authorized on 10/4/2018. Consultant investigating some R/W issues. 0/19 Project includes bringing Hunter Trail/Hunter Road up to current County standards. S. Cherokee Lane Improve a substandard County roadway BM&K Construction & Engineering, Inc. Construction plans have been submitted to the County for review. County has received new plans 11/30 with cost estimate. Project includes improving horizontal and vertical alignment on 3,000 feet of substandard roadway. Martin Lane Widen and pave a substandard width roadway In-house design In-house Right-of-way agent has visited all property owners. Approximately half support project and are willing to donate right-of-way. The other half are opposed to widening. Based upon results of right-of-way acquisitions, it is recommended that we pave this roadway as-is and achieve maximum pavement width within existing right-of-way.
