Let s focus on some tips to make the holidays an even more enjoyable experience. *Stay active. Exercise is just as important during the holidays as any other time of year. Make it a priority and you ll be happy you did. *Avoid overeating. Focus on the fun not the food. Choose your indulgences wisely, skip the store bought deserts to save calories to sample homemade treats that are special to your family. *Reduce Calories. When filling your plate choose larger portions of lower calorie items such as turkey, roasted vegetables. Keep the higher calorie items to smaller portion sizes. When there is a large selection of items to choose from take a very small portion (a bite or two) so you can sample each item without overloading the calories. *Avoid illness. Wash your hands regularly. Dress in layers and stay warm. Keep the snowy and icy walkways clear to avoid falls. *Destress. Although enjoyable, the holidays can be a stressful time. Be sure to take time for yourself. Focus more on spending time with family rather than spending money. Don t forget to visit someone you may know that is lonely. Spread the holiday cheer. Give yourself a gift of Good Pool Sign-Up for Winter Session, (Nov 20- Dec 29) starts Monday, Nov. 13. Please pick up registration slips at the front desk prior to sign up. Be sure all medical and waiver paperwork is up-to-date through December.
