Lancaster Playhouse The Lancaster Playhouse located at 201 S. Broad Street, 2nd floor presents Deathtrap by Ira Levin. This thrilling play provides twists and turns sure to leave audiences spellbound until the last moment. Play dates are February 15, 16, and 22 at 7:30p, and February 23 at 2:00p. 3 The Oak Leaf Sad To Say Goodbye Very soon our close neighbors, Meals On Wheels and Older Adult Alternatives will be moving into their new space on Cedar Hill Road. We wish them well and know that their new space will give them the elbow room they so desperately need. After they have completely moved out, the construction will begin to deconstruct the area for Park purposes. We also plan to expand the Wellness area in the Page 3 COMMUNICATION CORNER lower level. Please excuse the mess while we try to grow the Park programs in the Wellness Center. This process may take a few months. Stay tuned for more information and progress. Coffee Club Join us 9:00a on Friday, February 1 to discuss the economy and other investment topics. Contact Allison Spangler for questions. 2nd Tuesday Lunch 2nd Tuesday Lunch will be on Tuesday, February 12. Join us for spaghetti and meatballs, garlic bread, salad and a Valentine s Day dessert. Serving will be from 11:30a - 12:30p. Cost is $6. Reservation and payment due by Friday, February 8. Waffle Breakfast Join us for our waffle breakfast every Thursday. Breakfast includes waffles, sausage, juice, and coffee or tea, all for $4, served 8:00a-10:00a. Open to the public. Please pay at the office. Pancake Breakfast & Topping Bar Join us on Wednesday, February 20, enjoy all you can eat pancakes served with all sorts of tasty toppings, your choice of bacon or sausage, juice and coffee or tea all for only $5.00. Eggs are $1.00 and extra meat servings $2.00 each. Breakfast is served from 9:00a- 12:00p. Open to the public. Granny s Attic will also be open with many donated items sold at yard sale prices. 4 Page 4 The Oak Leaf Art Is 4 Every 1 Art is 4 Every 1 meets every Monday at 10:00a. The initial supply kit and class is $33 with follow-up classes only $20. Please call Patti Goltz to register for class at Ballroom Dance ~ Rumba February, the month of love will be combined with the dance of love. This month s dance will be the romantic Cuban Rumba. Unlike all other ballroom dances the Rumba emphasizes ones body movements more than their footwork. Close your eyes and will be able to imagine a winter holiday on the shore of Miami Beach! Join us on Fridays at 1:00p, no partner required and only $5 per lesson, to be prepaid at the office. Basket Class ~ Oval Basket The February basket is an oval-shaped basket with a wooden bottom and a fancy handle measuring 12 x8 oval and totals 12 high. It also features an accent band. The class will be held Monday, February 11 at 9:00a. Registration and payment due by Monday, February 4. Cost is $41. Class limit is 12 participants. Clogging Class Clogging Class is held at 9:30a every Friday and the cost is $2.00 per class. If you are interested in beginner lessons please contact the office. Cornhole Olivedale Cornhole players are happy to welcome new members. Join the fun every Monday and Thursday at 3:30p. Crocheting and Knitting Class Free crocheting and knitting classes are offered on Thursday s at 11:00a. Bring any current project Classes And More or if you are a beginner supplies will be provided. If you have any questions, call the Olivedale office. Line Dance There are classes for dancers of all experience levels, day and evening. Check the newsletter calendar for days and times. Open to all Olivedale members. Class fee is $3 a person or $5 a couple (See pg. 2 Lancaster Parks News for the fee for Monday evening Parks & Recreation class). Olivedale Line Dancers are renting the building on Friday, February 1 from 5:30p to 9:30p. They will have a potluck starting at 6:00p. There will be a $5.00 admission charge to help cover their costs. All members are invited to join in on a fun evening filled with good food and boot scootin! Mahjongg If you play Mah Jongg with tiles or cards, come and join us on Fridays! Friday mornings at 10:00a is devoted to Chinese version and at 1:00p we play using the National Mah Jongg League card. If you want to learn, please call Karen Wagner at Ping Pong The Olivedale Table Tennis Group is looking for players. If you are interested check the Olivedale calendar for playing times. All skills welcome. Tai Chi Tai Chi is an energizing form of exercise that can be done standing or sitting. Beginners are welcome. Classes are held Monday s with Intermediate Tai Chi class at 1:00p and Beginning Tai Chi at 2:00p. Cost is $3.25 at time of class, no pre-registration necessary.

Optum Fitness Advantage is now called Renew Active. A new program started called AARP Medicare Supplement. When you visit the Wellness Center please find the program clip board on the counter in the fitness room. If you have one of these insurance programs or Silver&Fit please be sure you are checking the dates you are here on the appropriate clip board. That is our only way of tracking visits. There is a separate clip board for each program. If your name is not already on the list please add it and mark the appropriate date for your visit. If you scan your SilverSneakers card and the screen appears with an orange colored notice, your insurance provider may have switched to one of the other programs. You will need to contact your insurance company to see what they offer. Please be patient as we all learn the new procedures for these programs. Thank you for being a part of our Wellness Center. Our members are the heartbeat of our facility. Pool Sign-Up for 2nd Quarter, (April 1, June 28) starts Monday, March 25. Please pick up registration slips at the front desk prior to sign up. Be sure all medical and waiver paperwork is up-to-date through June.

Our items for discussion and show and tell will be half dimes, Roosevelt, Mercury and Barber dimes. Coin collectors as well as beginners are welcome to attend and learn more about coin collecting and investing. Military Veterans of Olivedale The Military Veterans of Olivedale will meet on Monday, February 4, at 1:00p. This is the only meeting this month. Olivedale will be closed for President s Day on Monday, February 18. We invite any member of Olivedale who is a military veteran to join us. It is a great time to share fun experiences and free coffee and donuts! Rambling Designers Garden Club The Rambling Designers will meet on Tuesday, February 5 at 1:00p at Olivedale. The program will include a short activity to get to know your fellow members better. Following will be a nature film Sex, Lies, and Butterflies. The camera has captured the lives of butterflies from eggs to winged creatures and explores their astonishing survival techniques. Valentine goodies will be provided by Nancy Hinkle, Lois Kilcoyne, Lisa Mossholder, and Kathy Cassidy. Red Glad Hatters The Red Glad Hatters will be having a luncheon on Friday, February 15 at 12:00p at Downtown Bistro Restaurant located at 123 N. Breaking News Olivedale Park will be implementing a new software program to manage our memberships and give us an on-line presence. This program will allow us to accept some on-line payments for memberships, renewals, 2nd Tuesday lunches and wellness tickets and pass purchases. In this transition, the way we process credit and debit card payments will change. Currently a merchant fee (transaction fee) is being absorbed for each time someone uses a credit or debit card. Starting soon, each time you use your card, a transaction fee of 25 plus 2.6% will be added to your total. For example: $24 membership total will be $24.88; $3 bag of noodles will total $3.33 or a $64 trip will total $ We hope this new software advances us to meet the needs of the parks mission and our ever changing lifestyles TAX CUTS AND JOBS ACTS HOW IT EFFECTS YOUR PERSONAL INDIVIDUAL TAX RETURN Have questions about how to maximize your deductions and minimize your tax burden?
