3 Living with Lady Macbeth Everybody thinks Lily Morgan is very ordinary and rather dull. They are all wrong. As Lily prepares to audition for the part of Lady Macbeth in her school s upcoming production, she has a fight on her hands. Competing with the beautiful and popular Boyce twins that have comfortably been in the limelight for years, Lily not only has to convince the entire school of her talents, but also her unimaginative boyfriend, annoying little brother and her preoccupied parents. No one understands Lily's fatal attraction to the Scottish play and Lady Macbeth in particular. Only Lily's two best friends, Mon and Court, stand by her and begin to realise the lengths Lily is willing to go to in order to be heard. This production will run for approximately 50 minutes without interval. As this performance is essentially in an outdoor space, please bear with any unforeseen circumstances (including but not limited to: weather; bugs; birds and other) Please feel free to wear sunglasses to reduce glare in matinee performances and use our Aeroguard in the night performances. Director's Note I usually pen a long director's note for the program, but this year it seems that my writing space has been diminished. Too many kids! Drama is growing, like mould. But less harmful to your health. We started this Performance class (a mixture of both the Dance and Drama courses) with 12 students. We have since grown to a class of 21! Six extra roles were written into this play (Courtney; Dad; Aunty June; the Prac Teacher; Jennifer and one of the Boyce twins), and a cast of extras lay behind the scenes. It has been a massive effort by all involved and I am incredibly proud of every single student on that stage, and those pulling the strings behind the scenes. For many, this has been their first experience of performance. And what an experience! This year Shakespeare celebrated his 400th birthday, and whilst he's not around to blow out the candles, his work lives on and on and on, as seen in our play. It also seems fitting that we are performing in the amphitheatre and don t have to jinx our luck by saying Macbeth over and over in an enclosed theatre space (because, as we all know, it s bad luck to say Macbeth in a theatre!). A lot of work goes into these shows, and the results, whilst seemingly minuscule, live on in the memories of those involved for years to come. Thank you to all staff, students and families who continue to support a love of the creative arts. We hope you enjoy. Miss E Osborne

Two of our favorite lines from the play.. Together at last. Passionfruit and Possetts. 600 ml 2 ½ cups double cream 8 tbsp granulated sugar 110 ml ½ cup cup passion fruit pulp 30 ml 2 tbsp lemon juice INSTRUCTIONS - Put the double cream and sugar in a saucepan over a medium heat. Bring to the boil, then simmer for 2 or 3 minutes, stirring constantly. - Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the passion fruit pulp and lemon juice. - Pour the mixture into serving glasses/shooters. - Chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours or until set.
