Decorated in regal purple and gold hues, the historic abode glowed with elegance as guests celebrated a couple s union and created treasured memories. The wedding soiree featured decorated cupcakes, a tasty hot chocolate station, and a fun photo booth to memorialize the newlyweds special day. Each year, dozens of couples tie the knot and hold a reception at The Casements and Rockefeller Gardens. February 6th marked the new year s first private event at the Riverside Drive home, and The Casements 2016 calendar has filled up fast. From wedding ceremonies and receptions to birthday parties and graduation events, Rockefeller s estate serves as an ideal entertainment locale. The Casements rents the main building and Gardens as venues and staff also leases other Ormond Beach parks and gardens as well. Ormond Memorial Gardens, Bailey Riverbridge Church and Gardens, Fortunato Park, and Ames Park are also available for ceremonies and celebrations. 2 PAGE 2 My K-9 Valentine My K9 Valentine was held on February 4, 2016, between 12pm to 3pm at Wal-Mart. The Ormond Beach Police Department developed events like Santa Claws for Paws and My K9 Valentine to create awareness for these animal rescues that care and shelter these unfortunate pets. The rescues, like Sophie s Circle, foster the dogs until they can facilitate an adoption. The event collected $672 in donations, 220 lbs of pet food (20 bags), and 7 brand new blankets that went to Sophie s Circle Dog Rescue. Harmony, who is a blind husky, was without a doubt the star of the event and along with another dog found a forever home! You guys did a bang up job We raised a lot of money today. Thank you so much. 3 PAGE 3 The Rat Pack, Together Again The Rat Pack, Together Again, a tribute to the trio of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis, Jr., was performed at the Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center on Saturday, February 6th. The show stars Tony Sands as Frank Sinatra, Johnny Petillo as Dean Martin, and Geno Monroe as Sammy Davis, Jr. The Rat Pack were a legendary group because of their tremendous talent, great music, and the magical chemistry of their personalities which captivated audiences. In between musical numbers, the performers poked fun at each other with humorous anecdotes and jokes. The Rat Pack, Together Again was enjoyed by the audience at the Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center for the third straight year. Ambrosia Multi-platinum and Grammy nominated 70 s soft rock group Ambrosia performed in concert at the Performing Arts Center on Friday, February 5th. The group featured founding members, drummer Burleigh Drummond, keyboardist Christopher North, and bassist Joe Puerta. The band received five Grammy award nominations and topped the charts in the 70 s with hits including You re the Only Woman, Holding On to Yesterday, Biggest Part of Me, and How Much I Feel, all of which continue to receive radio airplay today. The excellent music and showmanship of the band brought the audience to its feet at the finale. The standing ovation and calls for more from the audience brought the band back onstage for an encore. Putting on the Ritz Goes Hollywood Putting On The Ritz Goes Hollywood, an original variety show, was held at the Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center on Thursday, February 4th. The show was hosted by Master of Ceremonies, singer Tim Rippey, along with a cast that featured local performers including singer Kevon Re mon te, dancer and drummer Linda Corrigan, and the ballroom dance group Absolutely Ballroom. The dance troupes also performed a wide variety of styles with colorful and elaborate costumes. The audience enjoyed the non-stop entertainment of this show.

4 PAGE 4 REIGN HOMESCHOOLING ACADEMY PRESENTS... Reign Homeschooling Academy of Daytona Beach will present We Are The Dream at the Performing Arts Center on Monday, February 29 th, at 7:00 p.m. The cast members of the show are students of Reign Homeschooling Academy. We Are The Dream is a musical play based on the struggle for civil rights for African-Americans and the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We Are The Dream weaves soulful spirituals, gospel music, turbulent history, and meaningful audience participation into an event of powerful emotional impact. Reign Homeschooling Academy is a non-profit Umbrella school that provides academic instruction for high performing kindergarten through 12th grade home school students. General admission tickets are $7.00 and are available online at the City of Ormond Beach website and at the Performing Arts Center Box Office located at 399 N. US Hwy 1. The Box Office is open Tuesday through Friday from Noon until 5:00 p.m., and two hours prior to every show. Tickets can also be ordered over the telephone by calling the Box Office at Visa and MasterCard are accepted. JAZZERCISE Jazzercise is again a part of the Mayor's Fitness Challenge and five challengers joined the class Saturday morning. There is also a class for children with special needs on Wednesdays. The girls are having a great time learning new dance moves and working out. If you are looking for a class to help you get fit, Jazzercise is the place to be! If you are interested in joining Jazzercise, contact Adrianne Austin at Jazzercise is growing at Nova Community Center! The great music and new moves will keep you psyched to sweat. The Jazzercise method fuses cardio, resistance training, Pilates, yoga, kickboxing with demanding forms of dance. The class is offered Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. with Wednesday and Thursday evening classes at 5:45 p.m. Class is also offered on Monday evenings at 5:45 p.m. at the South Ormond Neighborhood Center.

5 PAGE 5 FPL Tree Trimming Florida Power and Light (FPL) will be performing routine tree trimming maintenance along rights-of-way within the City of Ormond Beach over the next several weeks. At Riviera Park, they installed a ramp to the playground and cleaned up the orange fence strip forms for the concrete sidewalk leading to the playground. At Central Park III, brush was trimmed back from the lake overlook and white roping was installed at both ends. At the Nova Community Center, a new bike rack was installed. As usual, citywide safety inspections were performed of all parks and equipment and weekly inspections were done of parks facilities for reservations. All park reservations were posted at various facilities.
