May 8 th Remember those who have fought for your freedom on Memorial Day May 30 th (County Offices close in observance.) We d like to run another article bragging on our CDM youth and adults and how they fared at the District CDM contest in Waco on March 5. We inadvertently left off some of the team members last month. The Junior team of Riley McKinzie, Weston Pettit, Victoria Saucedo, and Nathan Starnes placed 2 nd high out of 9 teams. Morgan McKinzie competed as an individual. Riley McKinzie placed 2 nd high as an individual; Morgan McKinzie placed 5 th high as an individual. The Intermediates had two teams. Patrick Delaney, Conner McKinzie, Will Singleton and Will Pettit placed 1 st out of 12 teams and the team of Payton Whitfiled, Karsen Styron, Madison Brown and London Jones placed 4 th out of 15 teams. In the Intermediate age division, Conner McKinzie and Will Pettit ranked 2 nd and 3 rd place respectively as individuals. The Senior age group consisted of one senior team: Kline Jones, Kelley Royal, Jake Singleton, and Laurie Tolboom. The team placed 4 th out of 15 teams! Also participating as individuals in the senior category were Zane and Courtney Whitehead. None of these honors could be bestowed without the countless hours of hard work from our volunteer leaders, DeAnna Powell and Jeff and Melanie Royal. We also appreciate all the parents for getting the youth to practices and to the contest. They were shining stars for Erath County!
