It s a huge, pri vate ranch, with tiny ex-log ging roads wind ing around through 13,000 acres of pine trees and rocks. A real par a dise. But I was hor ri fied to see wooden street signs nailed to trees wher ever two of these old log ging trails came to gether. Oh no, I said, out loud. What s the mat ter? Bob asked. I see you re plan ning a sub di vi sion here. Bob started laugh ing when I pointed at the signs. Those are for the own - ers, he ex plained. They live back East and visit here one week end a year. When they get out here, they take the pickup and drive around and get lost. Once I got a call on the cell phone from the owner, who said he was lost and could n t find his way back to the house. So I asked NOW OPEN Roadhouse On the Corner of US HWY 287 and Maine Street in Eads 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. him where he was and he said he was right there, sit - ting on a rock and close to a pine tree.
