As in the past, we need your help. Keep your eye out for upcoming work details bring sent out by . The SOS/Pancake breakfast is on the 30th. of October. This year it is being held at the Bunker. So, let's get the word out to your friends, relatives and neighbors. Invitations have been sent out for this year's Marine Corps Ball on November 5, 2016 at the Buena Vista Country Club. If you don't get an invitation, contact Joe Patrick. Semper Fi Bill McCrudden, Commandant Jr. Vice: Jim Dickson Fellow Marine Corps Leaguers, Thanks to all who showed up and helped out Chuck Garcia with Toys for Tots. Chuck, Bill McGinley, Bob Moran and I participated in the Kerbeck Corvette Run event and really enjoyed it. Although the weather wasn t the best we still got a lot of high-quality toys from a great bunch of people. Semper Fi, Jim 1
2 Building/Grounds News from The Bunker I had a work detail on September 8th. We cut the grass and weed wacked prior to the meeting, thanks go to Ed Link and Bob McCarty. Will be scheduling a work detail soon to cut grass, weedwack, trim some trees & bushes and take down the awnings. Semper Fi, Bob McCarty Sick &Distress Rich Tuthill is recovering from his 9 ½ hours triple bypass heart operation. Fred DeVinney is in Rehab. Ron Powell wife is still not well. Scouts: The troop will participate in the Autumn Camporee at Egg Harbor City lake the weekend of Oct CJ Cress is almost done his Eagle Project, he's building an information kiosk at Batsto, which should be complete this week. Good luck to CJ on his project. Semper Fi Bob McCarty New Members Kitchen No new members were sworn in last month Volunteers are always needed in the kitchen. Let us know if you can help. A kitchen Team with meeting & event setup, take-down, Mess and kitchen clean-up duties needs to be formed. The more members we get on the team, the lest work they will all have to do. Team work pays. 2
3 Road Clean-Up I had a road clean-up on September 10th, hot and very humid uncharacteristic for September that's one reason we don't clean up in August. Anyway, got the job done thanks to Ed Link, Dick Bullock and Bob McCarty. Next road clean-up is Saturday October 15th, start time is 0830, meet at the Bunker. The "Make A Difference" Community Clean-up at the Forsythe Wildlife Refuge is Saturday October 22, meet at the Forsythe Wildlife Refuge at 0830, runs until around noon. Recommend wearing sturdy hiking type shoes since much of the ground is uneven. We usually walk one to two miles. They have historically provided breakfast (bagels, donuts, coffee) and at noontime lunch (pizza, chips, soda); all free for volunteers. This year they are telling us to bring our own reusable water bottles, they're trying to "reduce our carbon footprint" and cut down on recycled plastic water bottles. So if you want water bring your own. Hope to see you there. Semper Fi, Bob McCarty OFFICIAL MINUTES 1.
