Let s get out to the finals matches and give our boys our full support, they have worked hard to get to this point and they deserve all the support and encouragement we can give them. GO ROOS! See last page of newsletter for finals information. Next season will see some major changes to the way the junior compeition is structured. There will no longer be an Under 16 team, the Under 15 and Under 16 team from 2011 will form two new teams in the Colts division. Junior age groups will be Under 8 through to Under 15, then there will be two Colts teams in different divisions who will come under the umbrella of the junior club. Colts will play at 2.30pm on Sundays along with the Under 15 team. For more information, see the document provided by the EFL which is available on our website. MATCH REPORTS UNDER 9s Round 10 We played East Burwood today at home. Again we played a full ground with narrow wings. Last time we played this team they were the most physical we had come across by far. At training we reminded the boys that this team would come out bumping hard like last time. Well our boys did remember and played their hardest but fair game yet. The team pressure was at its best when one E.B boy was geetting bumped by 5 of our boys. This pressure created turnovers which allowed our boys to use their running game to create scoring opportunities. Could have given awards to everyone today. Well done boys. Round 11 We played Nth Ringwood at home today. Nth Ringwood had only 15 players in the first half and 12 players in the 2nd, so our boys switched jumpers to make a game of it. Thanks to all the boys who swapped over. With the bumping taken out of the game so our boys can't hurt each other, we concentrated on 2-3 handballs before kicking, numbers at the ball and loud voices. The boys who started playing this year are are doing all these things really well now. We now have a team that is even across the whole list. When the day started with rain, it wasn't looking good...but who knew when it was raining in East Ringwood it could be sunshine-ing in the city. Never missing an opportunity to train, we stopped at the Carlton Football Club and had a run on their outside oval. After lunch we headed on to North Melbourne. I don't think anyone actually supports those Kangaroos, but the boys knew lots of the players and were very excited to get up close. When they finished training they were very obliging and signed autographs for all the boys. The pathway to your football future

2 The pathway to your football future Round 12 We played Vermont away today which was always going to be a challenge. We built the game up like a mini Grand Final as they also won the lightening premiership. The game was played with great spirit from both teams. To watch the game from the side lines was pretty impressive with a few spectators commenting on how good the stanard was for 8-9 yo.vermont got the chocolates this time winning by 2 points. When the siren went the ball was in our forward line so it looks like these boys will have some good battles in the future. We were very proud of the way our boys played. Well done to the whole team. Round 13 We played Heathmont today at home. Very cold morning for footy with some of the boys not looking too keen. Once the siren went the boys switched on and played a great first quarter. They dropped off in the 2nd quarter but were able to put a a great 2nd half together. They put some great passages of play together going from goal to goal. The boys whose turn it was to play in the back line did get a bit cold with the midfield mostly dominating. Well done boys. UNDER 11s Round 10 - Rowville d East Ringwood Rowville got the jump on us early which put us behind the eight ball on a pretty muddy track. Connor Morphett kick a great goal in the second quarter to get us on the way but unfortunately the opposition got a few of their own. We were once again obtaining a lot of the possession but just couldn't get the ball through the big sticks. Coaches awards this week went to Connor Morphett, Kaleb Graham, Bailey Butcher, Jack Tanzen & Harrison Leonard. Round 11 - East Ringwood v Vermont Through hard training the boys are creating more opportunities to score in games & possibly win. We played more consistent with a lot more players contributing through out he game. Must commend the boys for never giving up, if there was no scoreboard you'd think they were just in front or just losing. Well done to Jake Sharp kicking his first goal ever & congratulations to Tyler Borg for playing his 50th EFL game. Coaches awards this week went to Jake Sharp, Bailey Butcher, Matthew Ogston & Bailey Stelfox. Round 12 - East Ringwood d Boronia Today was the grudge match of the year. The game started even with some good hard contests. We conceded 1 goal late which we all believe was touched. Another tight quarter in the second saw Hayden Baldwin slot 1 through into the strong wind. 3rd quarter was very tough with only 1pt being scored. In the last we dominated with the ball down our end of the ground for the best part of the quarter. We kicked 3 pts to take the lead, then Zac Flack kicked a goal to seal our first win for the year. Great game by all the boys very proud for never giving up. Played 4 quarters of footy & look what happened. Congratulations to Bailey Butcher for playing his 50th EFL game. Coaches awards this week went to Sam Rickard, Jake Sharp, Will Couch, Hayden Baldwin & Zac Flack. Round 13 - East Ringwood v Blackburn Headed down to one of the hardest tasks in our age group to take on Balckburn. It was always going to be a hard game to win but we were just looking for a red hot go from the boys and we got it. They played hard footy to hold them to 5 goals for the half. They got away from us in the 3rd but to the boys credit they didn't give up and we went down by 12 goals. A huge improvement from the last time (10 goals better), outstanding achievement from the boys. Coaches awards this week went to Kaleb Graham, Sam Rickard, Josh Treeby, Bailey Butcher, Bailey Stelfox & Ned McKenna. Round 14 - East Ringwood draw Donvale Our last game for the year was played at home and we expected another tuff day. The ground was pretty sloppy which played into our hands. It was a very solid performance from the boys to go in at half time level. The 3rd was the same until we let a goal slip through late in the term. l asked them for a special effort to get it back and to the Boys credit they did. We pressed hard and got another score on the board. The last couple of minutes was tense battle but eventually the game ended in a draw. This last month of footy really showed some positive signs for next year. Congratulations to Josh Treeby, Hayden Baldwin & Kane Capaldo for playing their 50th EFL game. Coaches awards this week went to all the boys...well done. Did you know East Ringwood Football Club won their first premiership in 1931?

3 UNDER 16s Round 11 We travelled down to windy Rowville. The last time we played Rowville we had a 90 point win, but coming into this game they had moved up to 3rd on the ladder. At 3/4 time we had a lead of 32 points with Rowville kicking with the wind in the last. Once again our fitness and rotations saw us run away in the last quarter to record a to win. Zac Klibingaitis and Jordan Williams both played their 100th games. Round 12 - Vermont, the Premiers of only a couple of years ago, needed to win today to keep their finals hopes alive. Vermont had lost the previous week to second placed Norwood by 1 point so our boys were ready for a tough battle. Once again all boys played really well and we ran out 108 point winners. With 2 games to go we sit on top of the 16A ladder unbeaten and with a healthy 490 percentage. A huge thanks to our social team of Marli Gervasoni, Jacqui Scull and Danielle Hancock for their hard work and great efforts in putting on some of the most successful functions the Club has had. Under 9 and 11 Bingo Fundraising Night. Thanks to all the parents who supported our fundraising effort and attended our Bingo Sensation. From all accounts heard, it seems everyone had a great night. We would like to thank Lyn Svrakoz (Josh(U/11) and Jamie(U/9) Treeby's Nanna) and her sister Maree Miles for the time they gave to run the Bingo. Dot Ackland was very generous donating hampers to our raffle and thanks to Graham at Bristol, Ferntree Gully for his paint voucher. FINALS INFORMATION 31 July Under 14s play in 2 nd Semi Final at Blackburn beginning at pm 31 July Under 16s play in 2 nd Semi Final at Knox beginning at 2.30 pm Cost for entry is $4.50 per adult, entry fee is payable at each ground you attend and will include a Junior Finals Record. No dogs are permitted at EFL finals matches. The EFL does not permit video operators to set up on tripods at finals matches where the EFL is filming.
