Lilydale Junior Football Club Junior Presidents Report Season 2005 President: Senior Vice President: Junior Vice President: Treasurer: Secretary: Peter Morgan George Covino Glenn Cowan Darren Smith Leanne Cope Committee 2005: Colin Horsley, Dean Stephens, Lea Barker, Leanne Lawrence, Leo Allard, Lisa Dickson, Mark Wilson, Michael Lowe, Natalie Morgan, Nicole Maxfield, Ross Stevens, Russell Cope, Shayna Fisher. Social Committee: Shayna Fisher, Dawn Bullas, Charlene Smith, Rebecca Carrier, Lea Barker, Lisa Dickson, Leanne Cope. On behalf of the committee I would like welcome all Committee, interested parents and friends to this year s Annual Report for season First and foremost I would like to thank our sponsors from this year especially our major sponsor Steve Davenport from Hystress Timber and Trusses/Lilydale Timber and Hardware. A big thank you also to our other sponsors who have generously donated funds to our club this year, we had sponsors who gave financial support who we can recognize and some who we can t as those people wish to remain anonymous. Thank you to all of you we really do appreciate your support. Season 2005 has been a momentous year for the Lilydale Junior Football Club that started in February at our registration day. On registration day we had enough players to field 8 teams, over the following 4 weeks we had enough to field 9 teams, this is a record number for the club and has not be achieved before. We were able to field teams in Under 9 through to Under 16. We also had the situation of fielding two under 12 teams. I would like to thank parents and players in the under 12 s for their assistance in making the 2 team situation work for us. 12 Gold in particular deserve special mention because it shows that winning is not everything; they only won one game but improved every week and had fun doing it. The parents were also great in helping Ross & Alison every week. I would also like to mention the effort of Gary Dalton to get the U 16 s up every week, this was a real battle at times but we are grateful that they played and finished the year. We look forward to seeing those boys next year in Under 18 s. I would like to thank all of our Coaches, Team Managers and Trainers for their tireless work and effort throughout this season, without these 3 key people clubs cannot run effectively. We appreciate your efforts from February-August and I am sure you enjoyed the year as much as the players did. Thank you all from the committee of Lilydale Junior Football Club. I know the Coaches and Team Managers would also like to thank all parents who assisted in goal umpiring, boundary umpiring, interchange stewards, umpire escorts, water carriers, timekeepers and canteen helpers; they appreciate your efforts this year. I know they would like to extend a special thank you to the parents who carried out a role each and every week. Our Under 13 s were premiers last weekend recording a big win over St Simons. This team was fantastic all year and thoroughly deserve their success. I would like to congratulate the players for a great season. I would like to thank Andy Cowan for his efforts with the boys this year and a big thank you to Russell Cope for his massive contribution this year. I would really like to thank all parents and players from every age group who came throughout the final series to support these boys, that kind of support is appreciated by the players and it also goes to show the strength of the club when we can get so many families to the finals. The support from the senior club was also very much appreciated. A special thanks to Wendy and the girls for their continued work in the canteen. Your organization and willingness to serve us on each and every Sunday has been terrific. And too the Men from the committee who on a weekly basis made sure the grounds were marked and ready for play, rain hail shine or hang over, thanks guys. I would like to thank Colin Horsley and John Poynton for watering the ground at the start of the season. Their efforts were extra special due to water restrictions that they had to work around. Thank you Colin and John.

Thanks to Gerry Toohey for his great work with the Flankers every week and making sure we had enough to hand around to all the families on a weekly basis, the flanker has been a great way for us to communicate each week so we really appreciate the work Gerry puts in each week. Thanks to Steve Holland for the signage that he has done for the club again at no charge to us, Steve was the person responsible for our team rules that are up on the walls in our Clubroom. Our Best Club Person this year is Leanne Cope. Leanne deserves this award as she has done a fantastic job this year in her role as Secretary. There are many things that need to be done in her role but Leanne continually goes above and beyond what is expected of her role. Well Done Leanne, thoroughly deserved. Thanks to Brett Fisher for not only coaching but also being the Coaches Coordinator. Brett was also very helpful in arranging the Hawthorn and Collingwood player nights, without his help these would not have happened. Brett also assisted with the coaches information night evening held recently at the Gateway to explain to prospective coaches what is involved in coaching. Thanks to Mark Wilson for following through on our next major project the scoreboard. Mark has been dealing with the Shire on approvals and requirements for this for some time, thanks Mark. I would like to congratulate Todd Morgan, Sean Pasmans and Matt Covino from our U14 s on being selected to play for the Eastern Interleague this year. This was a great feat to have 3 players make the top 24 well done boys. Some of our Under 13 s have also been asked to trial this year, good luck to you guys. We also had 4 boys from our Under 15 s who made the list this year to train with the Eastern Ranges, they are Chris McDonald, Kieran Brumby, Clinton O Connor and Marcus Baxter. Great effort boys. We have been informed this week that 7 players from our Under 14 s have been invited to trial for the Eastern Ranges and they are Todd Morgan, Matt Covino, Sean Pasmans, Ashraf Davies, Andrew Whelan, Travis Marks and Josh Morgan. Again this shows the depth of club that we can have so many players recognized at different levels. I would personally like to thank the Executive Committee comprising of George Covino, Glen Cowan, Leanne Cope and Darren Smith for their time and support throughout this year, all of you have given a lot of time and effort behind the scenes to ensure we have a smooth running Club. The committee this year has been fantastic, we have been able to deal with many situations and many decisions have been made throughout the year. I appreciate your efforts in attending as many meetings as possible and I would like to thank all committee members for their time, commitment and professionalism throughout the year. I must thank Colin Horsley (Property Steward) Leanne Lawrence (Grounds Committee), Dean Stephens (Gateway) George Covino (Delegates) and Natalie Morgan (registration secretary) for their specific tasks carried out this year. These people not only were committee members but also carried out extra functions. Thanks to all of you. Our social committee this year has had, I believe it s most successful year. The Ladies have generated well in excess of $ this year which I am sure you agree is a great effort. Thanks ladies for your efforts in fundraising and functions, without your dedication we would not be in the financial situation that we are in, which is clearly very strong. In summing up, this year has been about cementing our foundations to ensure we continue to build a strong and healthy club. Success is not only about the results on the ground, it is also about what happens behind the scenes. I look forward to seeing you all in 2006 Kind Regards Peter Morgan President

Coach s report The start of the Under 9 s 2005 season saw the boys suffer from first year nerves. Their confidence level was low and their skills needed a bit of work but they came together quickly as a team. The first practice match saw them notch up their first win in a terrific match. As the season progressed we came up against some tough opposition, although we lost a few games the boys put in some amazing efforts to keep these games close. The boys loved having the AFL players come to training and all the special events throughout the year. By the end of the year all of the hard work at training paid off with everyone s skill level and confidence soaring. In the last round it was great to see us have a win to cap off a fantastic season. It s clear to see that the Under 9 s this year really played for the passion of the game and the pride of their jumper. Overall it was a first season that they can all be proud off! A big thank you to Rebecca our team manager for all her support and encouragement and to Ken and Brad the team trainers for all their assistance. Thanks to all the players and parents for their support. 7 Lilydale Football Club Juniors Under 10s 2005 Coach: Team manager: Runner: Trainer: Dean Clements Leanne Lawrence Phil Smith Tom Lawrence U10 team: Scott Adams, Matthew Allardice, Mitchell Aumann, Jake Clements, Josh Conte, Darcy Eastham, Tyson Fisher, Michael Gills, Mickey Goodlet, Ryan Harvey, Zachery Hill, Josh Johnson, Billy Lawrence, Andrew Malcolm, Phillip Muscara, Nicholas Ruhl, Daniel Sharp, Fraser Smith, Guy Tough, Aaron Toughill, Ryhs Toughill, Lachlan Wilson, Jessie Woolley. Coach s report Congratulations to all the boys this season in winning 13 out of 14 games, which was a fantastic effort from all the boys. I could not fault any of these boys at all, they all put in 100% all the time. The only game that we lost was against Waverley Blues and the boys did not give up at all during the four quarters, they gave it all they had. A great team effort boys! The Lightning Premiership was a great day for all the boys. They had to play four games (that consisted of only two halves, not four quarters) and out of the four games they won three, unfortunately we lost one. We as a team trained very hard from the start of the season until the end, and as I believe had fun in doing so. They learned the basic skills like hand and foot skills, shepherding, tackling and backing up their team mates. Thank you very much boys for giving me a go and making my first season of coaching so enjoyable. I have to give all of you the credit, because you are a terrific bunch of kids. Thank you to the parents who helped me out at training and also all the parents that helped out on game day. We could not do it without you guys. Thank you also to Phil Smith who was the runner for the team and to Tom Lawrence for being the trainer, a job well done by both. Thank you to the ladies on the sideline who helped hold themselves together after many big nights out. A special thank you goes to our team manager Leanne Lawrence who has done a fantastic job for the season. She has organised and put up with me all season and has given 200% to the boys. Can t thank you enough. I would like to thank the committee who gave me the opportunity to coach this year, it s been a fantastic season and an experience that I have thoroughly enjoyed and will never forget. I hope to see all the boys back next season. Go Dales! Dean Clements Coach

Lilydale Football Club Juniors Under 11s 2005 Coach: Terry Foley Runner: Ron Fotia Team manager: Steve Holland Boundary umpire: Stella Foley Trainer: Jurgen Lochtenberg U11 team: Luke Baker, Dylan Barker, Cameron Bell, Joshua Bell, Matthew Bellion, Johnnie Dell, Jake Di Pietrantonio, Nicholas Dwyer, Brendan Foley, Christopher Foley, Matthew Fotia, William George, Zackary Grenfell, Jarryd Harvey, Jarrod Hawke, Jordan Holland, Corey Jeffs, Zac Lochtenberg, Bradley Lowe, Harry Mason, Jackson O'Sughrue, Mitchell Shanks, Jayson Sheehan Coach s report The Under 11 s experienced another successful year of football. In all 23 players registered in this team and all 23 played most games. We played 13 home and away games out scoring our opposition in all but two of the games. In 2005 we had eight new boys to the club and each of these made a significant contribution to the success of the team. The most impressive aspect of this team is the way they see themselves as a team and are prepared to work together for each other. For each game I planned out positional moves and interchanges prior to the game and on most occasions kept to this plan. Doing this gives me the opportunity to keep a track of what position each boy has been playing and to ensure each player is given the chance to play in each of the areas on the ground, forward, midfield and back. With 23 players it worked out that each player would get about three full quarters of game time. Rather than any player missing a full quarter, players were interchanged half way through each quarter and given two spells on the bench. Above all areas of development strived for this year, was to improve the marking of the players. I kept a rough record of marks taken in matches and we averaged 31 marks a game. The continual encouragement and practice at training gave the boys confidence to compete in all marking contests. Training was very successful throughout the year with most boys in attendance at each session. They trained with enthusiasm and an openness to develop their own skills and help their team mates develop theirs. At times we played a very exciting brand of football with fast direct play. One element of match play I encouraged the boys to do was to take the opposition on. When an individual had possession of the ball and was under pressure don t panic, try to break the tackles, side step or out run. To see boys so young achieve this, gave them confidence to try it again, was beneficial to the team and looked spectacular for those watching. For the year we kicked 84 goals 110 points which shows an area for improvement, and kept our opposition to 49 goals 54 points. As well as the above mentioned highlights, the boys continued to improve their general match play of kicking to position, handballing, running to assist, spoiling when not in a position to mark, pressuring the opposition and encouraging each other. The success of the year comes not only from the efforts of the players but our team manager Steve Holland, runner Ron Fotia, trainer Jurgen Lochtenberg, boundary umpire Stella Foley and all the parents who helped on match day and at training. The Under 11 boys and parents would also like to express their gratitude to the Club Committee for giving us the opportunity to have the facilities and equipment to put a side on the ground each week. 11 Lilydale Football Club Juniors Under 12 Blue 2005 Coach: Dean Stephens Boundary umpire: Josh Stephens Team manager: Greg Whelan Goal umpires: David Moody Trainers: Dawn Bullas Sam Morabito Darren Smith Umpire Escort: Kevin Walker Runner: Leo Allard Captains: Cameron Stephens Vice Captains: Luke Thomas Sam Horsley Alex Wisby Nathan Moody Dept Vice Capts: James Whelan Jordan Smith Callum Morison U12 team: Mitchell Allard, Lee Barker, Christopher Bullas, Billy Gardner, Michael Gordon, Sam Horsley, Alexander Mc Carton, Nathan Moody, Marlon Morabito, Callum Morison, Martin Saniga, Alexander Schumann, Nick Sciortino, Jordan Smith, Daniel Spinoso, Cameron Stephens, Luke Thomas, Kallan Walker, James Whelan, Alex Wisby Coach s report The Under 12 s have had an enjoyable year of football, as have I. After having a year off and being given the chance to coach again at competition level was a big learning experience for me as well as for the boys. It was said to me at the start of the season that the boys might not be up to B division standard, what a great way to prove people wrong. Many games we played short, sometimes with only 15 or 17 players. To miss the finals by two games in the end was a great effort from the boys. Losing one game by one point and two by less than ten points probably cost us. With a blend of new players and the older ones, by the half way mark of the season, their skills and team work was starting to show through. Not being a tall side, the boy s tackling and attack on the ball was a stand-out feature of their game. Our best games were played at home, none better than beating Mooroolbark by ten points after previously being beaten by eight goals. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the parents, who ve all helped out in some way with the boys this year, Greg for being a tireless team manager, Darren and Dawn for looking after all the aches and pains, John and Colin for helping out at training, Josh for doing the boundary, David and Sam for sharing goal umpire duties and finally, my runner Leo, and Kevin as umpire escort. From a coaching point of view the most pleasing aspect of the year has been the way the boys, some in their first year of football, have bonded together to see themselves as a team. For me as a coach and committee member, they have represented the junior football club on and off the field with pride. Dean Stephens Coach

Lilydale Football Club Juniors Under 12 Gold 2005 Coach: Ross Stevens Runner: Steve Horsburgh Asst coach: Mark O Dea Goal umpire: Paul Gregory Team manager: Alison Stevens Boundary umpire: Graham Walter Trainers: Phil Fennell Captain: Vice Captain: Dept Vice Capts: Callan Stevens Shaun Falkingham Tim Freiberg U12 team: James Anderson, Dylan Bale, Shaun Falkingham, Trent Fennell, Hayley Fisher, Rick Fraser, Tim Freiberg, Luke Gregory, Benjamin Hall-Coburn, Jake Horsburgh, Dylan Kelso, Kaine McDonald, Matthew Mooney, Patrick Morgan, John O'Dea, Brett Powell, Callan Stevens, Bradley Town, Jarryd Tyndall, Ryan Vasiliades, Brooke Walter. Coach s report Well what a fantastic year, 13 first year players and 8 from season At the start of the season I was confident that we would gel as a team and really improve our skills and above all have a great year. At the end of year I can definitely say that every player improved in their skills, their ability to play as a team and their eagerness to succeed. I would especially like to mention the improvement of players like Luke Gregory, Jake Horsburgh, James Anderson, Tim Freiberg, Shaun Falkingham, John O Dea and Kaine McDonald not only did these guys improve with their football skills but more importantly they improved as leaders being 2 nd year veterans and helping all of our first year players. They also made my job much easier because they understood what was expected of them at training and during the games. To all of the new players to the club and for that matter all of the U12 Gold team please thank your parents for the support they have given you during season 2005 and more importantly thank them on my behalf, as I can sincerely say that in over 28 years of football I have never received so much support and willingness to help from any group of people like I received this year. It was a true pleasure to be involved in. There is some special thank you's however; as you are all well aware it takes a lot of work from few or in our case a little from a lot, to get the team on the ground each week. Special thanks to Alison (team manager), Mark (assistant coach), Steve (runner), Graham (boundary), Phil (trainer), Paul (goal umpire), Paul T (match board), Bill F (interchange), Steve K (all sorts) and I think every parent. I am sure I will have missed someone or something however I truly did appreciate everyone s willingness to help in every way. I would however especially like to thank the Fisher family, as Tyson filled in when needed and Shayna also filled in doing all sorts including the prestigious team managers position a couple of times. Also special thanks to all of the Dads that helped out with training during the year - fantastic effort! Success is not always measured in how many games you win but how you play the game. We may have only drawn 1 game and won another but the looks on all of the player s faces when we won was our true measure of success. Lastly, a special thank you to Alison and Shayna for filling in for me on presentation day. I hope that I will see everyone back next year. Go Dales! Ross Stevens Coach

Lilydale Football Club Juniors Under 13s 2005 Coach: Andrew Cowan Interchange steward: Garry Elsum Team manager: Russell Cope Boundary umpire: Tony Harris Runner: Glenn Cowan Water person: Mal Harvey Trainer: Katie Evans & Jackie Harris Captains: Vice Captain: Dept Vice Capt: Bradley Harvey & Ryan Mitchell Daniel Cope Shane Butler U13 team: Simon Bucci, Matthew Buckland, Shane Butler, Joshua Cooper, Daniel Cope, Phillip Cowan, Justin D'Angelo, Mitchell Elsum, Michael Evans, Luke Gerada, Marcus Hancock, Cameron Harris, Bradley Harvey, Cameron Maxfield, Andrew Medley, Ryan Mitchell, Andrew Morgan, Nathan Shaw, Matthew Sheehan, Darcy Spurling, James Stekel, Pasilika Tauiliili Coach s report What a season it turned out to be, the anticipation of round 1 saw some classy inclusions including Matt Sheehan (explosive midfielder with the ability to kick straight on the run), Darcy Spurling (strong solid backline player who also had the run to play on ball) and Justin D Angelo (good reader of the ball and an explosive lead from full forward). Leading up to round 1 team targets where decided and they included lose less than 2 games, play finals football, and to bring home the flag. Round 1 had finally arrived and we were to play last year s division 3 premiers in Scoresby. All expectations where reached with our midfield brigade on fire which included Brad Harvey (Captain) (showed great speed and leadership), Ryan Mitchell (Captain) (has the ability to win a ball in dispute or any 50 / 50 contest), Daniel Cope (his ability to win the ball from a throw in or ball up is as good as you see it), but the on ballers were helped by our much improved ruckman, Andrew Morgan (who has the ability to tap ruck straight down the throat of those using there voice). Game by game we defeated Scoresby, Waverly Blues, Boronia, Croydon and Donvale. Six rounds in we were in a comfortable position sitting second and only St Simons ahead due to us having a bye in round 5. Round 7 saw us come up against ladder leaders St Simons and in damp conditions over at Rowville, it was the most talked about clash since the beginning of the season. The plan was to have our boys switched on and ready for the encounter and that s what they did. The game was approached contest by contest, minute by minute, quarter by quarter and in a well fought out game we were victorious by fifteen points and which saw us climb to the top of the ladder. Week by week we defeated Mitcham, fourth placed Norwood and Donvale. To this point of the season we were 9 wins and zero loses. We then had our second bye for the year and the following week played the eighth placed team Vermont and our first shock of the season was to face us. A sluggish start saw a game where we never hit our straps and were beaten by a better side on the day. Shane Butler (strong and sensible footballer who backs his judgment) was superb all day down the backline and played injured for the majority of the day, Pasilika Tauiliili (great strength and attack on the footy) was also great, he backed his judgment and tackled ferociously. But to the boys credit we put that behind us and carried on with the season. With wins to Waverly Blues by over one hundred points

and defeated third placed Heatherdale by three goals, brought about the end of the season. We finished the season on top of the ladder and finals fever was seriously in the air. Round 1 of finals saw Lilydale (first) vs. St Simons (second). A very slow start saw St Simons jump us kicking the first five goals of the game and leading by four goals at quarter time. After a quite talking to the boys, another team came out to play, a team with more pressure and attack on the footy and a team that wanted to win the game. By half time we were well and truly in the game going into the long break only two goals down. The third quarter again saw St Simons take control winning the 50 / 50 contests and taking everything in the air. We went into the last quarter trailing by 33 points. To the boy s credit and continual persistence we slowly pegged away at the total and with two minutes to go hit the lead with a kick from Brad Harvey from the middle of the ground that rolled 20 metres and found the middle of the sticks. So the 2 nd semi final saw Lilydale win by two points. Grand final day saw us again come up against St Simons in a very different style of game. From the onset we took control this time kicking the first four and helping to set up a stress free game for all the boys. This time it was Lilydale by 46 points. Well done boys on a very successful season which saw all our goals reached and another flag for the Club. Thank you to all the parents from their help and support throughout the season and special thanks to Russell Cope, our team manager. Andrew Cowan Coach

Lilydale Football Club Juniors Under 14s 2005 Coach: Brett Fisher Interchange steward: George Covino Team manager: Carl Barker Goal umpires: Glen Johnson Runner: Mark Dickson & Graham Bell Trainers: Rosemary Young & Darren Smith Captains: Vice Captain: Dept Vice Capts: Todd Morgan, Josh Morgan & Matt Covino Travis Marks & James Ashby Ash Davies & Gerard Von Beckerath U14 team: James Ashby, Rhys Barker, Adrian Bell, Jeremy Bell, Matthew Covino, Ashraf Davies, Broddy Dickson, Jarryd Fleiter, Bradley Graham, Ryan Johnson, Ryan Kelberg, Francis Le Clercq, Nicholas Lowe, Travis Marks, Matthew Mc Arthur, Scott McKean, Joshua Morgan, Todd Morgan, Sean Pasmans, Matthew Shanks, Joshua Smith, Jesse Timoney, Gerard Von Beckerath, Andrew Whelan, Alec Wilkinson, Joseph Zappia. Coach s report How quickly my time coaching these boys has gone by, it feels like yesterday that I was taking our first training session. But like all good things, my opportunity to coach an extremely enjoyable group of young men had to end. To sum up the year, we finished seventh in our first season in A division, but the massive development of the players was the clear highlight for me as a coach. They took a few games to adapt to the speed and skill of A division, but we were more than holding our own by the half way mark. Some bad injuries to key players didn t help our cause, but it did provide opportunities for other players to step up to the midfield, to which they really took hold of the challenge. Many thanks to Carl Barker for his experience and expertise, as his help in managing the team, as well as doing some of the coaching duties at training and game days, was a key part in the development of the boys skills throughout the past two seasons. Also to Rosemary Young and Darren Smith for there work as the trainers, as I know how unrecognised this time consuming job can be, many thanks. To Mark Dickson our runner, thanks so much for being another person to rely on for feedback throughout the year as well as letting me run your guts out each Sunday arvo, you re a champ. To George Covino our inter-change steward, Glen Johnson and Graham Bell our goal umpires and Craig McKean, Dale Mc Arthur and Mick Lowe (also coaching our forwards) umpires escorts, thank you guys for doing your utmost to make life easier for Carl and myself on game days. A big congratulations to Andy and the Under 13 boys on there premiership this season, as it is exciting to now see three teams in the top division for next year, well done boys. Finally to Peter Morgan, George Covino, Leanne Cope and the entire junior committee, thank you all for being a very welcoming, competent and friendly group, as this is testament to our growth as a club over the past two to three years. The analogy is so true, PROFFESIONALISM HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MONEY Brett Fisher Coach

Lilydale Football Club Juniors Under 15s 2005 Coach: Daniel McDonald Runner: Mickey Knowles Team manager: Colin Horsley Trainer: Tom Lawrence Captain: Vice Captain: Dept Vice Capts: Chris McDonald Matt Lawrence Marcus Baxter & Clinton O Connor U14 team: Tom Ahon, Ross Ansaldi, Marcus Baxter, Kieran Brumby, Robert Butler, Nathan Calle, Michael Canale, Michael D'Angelo, Adam Hamilton, Bradley Hancock, Michael Horsley, James Kershaw, Aaron Labahn, Matt Lawrence, Mark Martin, Christopher McDonald, Travis McNama, Clinton O'Connor, Ashley Paterson, Thomas Price, Robert Sandy, Vince Sasso, Cameron Skelton. Coach s report Our season this year started very promising with new players coming from different clubs and all the boys back and ready for a big year. Our first practice match saw us come up against Montrose and with all the boys coming together as a team, the big win looked like we were going to have a good season. This year we moved up to A division, which is a big step, but to the boys credit they did not back down but looked at this opportunity as a challenge. Our first A division game was against a bigger and fitter Norwood who got the jump on us very early in the game, and made it hard for us to get back into it. The boys seemed a little shell shocked by the pace and skill of going up to A division, but again they adapted and played some great footy. For the next few games we came up against the top sides, and although we were beaten by some big margins, the scoreboard did not reflect on how the boys played. Our first win came on Mothers Day against South Croydon and was probably the toughest and closest win the boys have ever had. The game was neck and neck all day but the boys dug deep and won in the dying minutes. We did not have another win but we did have some close games that we let slip away and also some games that we would like to forget! But it is games like this that you can only learn from and take the most out of them as possible. I would like to congratulate Chris McDonald, Marcus Baxter, Keiran Brumby and Clinton O Connor for making the Under 15 s Eastern Ranges team. If these boys stay committed and focused on what they want they will go a long way with their football careers. Also I would like to congratulate the whole team as it has been my pleasure to be a part of this tight group. You are all a great bunch of guys on and off the field. What you guys have achieved this year as a group goes second to none. To go to the top division and play competitive football, some times get beaten by big margins and still turn up to training and still run out week after week says a lot about you guys as a whole and as individuals. A big thank you goes out to Colin for all his time and commitment. Without him my time would have been a lot harder! To Tom Lawrence for your time also, being at training and at the games every week I thank you. And to Mickey Knowles for running my messages, which I am sure, along the way some got changed! Also a thanks to all the parents who helped out throughout the year. Lastly, best of luck to all the players for the future and thank you for a very enjoyable season. Daniel McDonald Coach

Lilydale Football Club Juniors Under 16s 2005 Coach: Garry Dalton Goal umpire: John Lancaster Asst Coach: Matt Nikl Time Keeper: Trevor Beazley Team manager: Frances Dalton Boundary umpire: Ryan Cowan Trainer: Gillian Matthews Interchange steward: Veronica Rigogiannis Runner: Matt Nikl Umpire escort: Con Rigogiannis Captain: Vice Captain: Dept Vice Capts: Alun Matthews James Purcell Daniel Thompson & Daniel Stone U16 team: Brad Beazley, Shaun Bennett, Russell Cowan, Matthew Lancaster, Alun Matthews, Shawn Meyer, Sean Moxey, Hayden Peach, Kane Phillips, Daniel Porter, James Purcell, John Rigogiannis, Mitchell Stevens, Daniel Stone, Noamau Tauiliili, Matthew Taylor, Daniel Thompson, Raymond Tuima, Luke Wilson, Samuel Wilson. Coach s report A very interesting year where we had a lot of promising games and also a few games that due to lack of players we could not win these matches. To the players credit each player stood up to the pressure each week and were committed to each other. The character shown by every player will help them to be a better person. To win only one game for the year was very frustrating, knowing that we could mix it with the best. Our back line led by Daniel Thompson really worked well with Shaun Bennett. Matt Taylor had a great second half to the season with Ray Tuima and Luke Wilson controlling the back line. Centre players Sam Wilson, Daniel Porter and Kane Phillips really worked hard all year. Our forward line of Sean Moxey, John Rigogiannis and Brad Beazley along with Matt Lancaster, Alun Matthews and Hayden Peach really worked hard in keeping the ball in our forward line. The on ballers of Noamau Tauiliili, James Purcell and Russell Cowan with stood any pressure that was applied. Mitch Stevens and Sean Meyer along with Daniel Stone were used in variable positions throughout the year. I would like to take this opportunity to thank every player for their commitment they gave me this year. Thank you to Alun Matthews (Captain) and James Purcell (Vice Captain), deputies Daniel Thompson and Daniel Stone for helping me this year. To my assistant coach and runner Matt Nikl, a good knowledge of football. To Gillian Matthews our trainer, thank you. Our boundary umpire Ryan Cowan who was there every week. The water girls of Michelle Cowan and Siobhan Rowlands were there each week. Our goal umpire John Lancaster and interchange steward of Veronica Rigogiannis, thank you. Last but not least my wife and team manager Frances Dalton, a great job in organising things every week. In finishing I would like to thank the players for supporting me this year and wish them the best in the future! Garry Dalton Coach
