1 CELEBRATING 26 YEARS OF SINGLES GOLF IN AMERICA Sacramento, CA Chapter - American Singles Golf Association December 2017 Sacramento Singles Bid 2017 Season Adieu On Sunday, November 12, Sacramento Singles ended our 2017 Golf Season with our traditional Mother Ball game at Bartley Cavanaugh. Eight players came out to chase that little dimpled ball. The weather turned out to be excellent for our event. As you know, Mother Ball has teams of two competing for that amazing prize money. So teeing off, nearly on time, were the team of Warren Peacor and Janice Van Gutman. They played with the team of Paul Arquette and his guest, Suzie Everett. Welcome Suzie. We hope you will consider joining our Merry Band of Golfers. The team of George Shea and Geri Grant were joined on the tee by the team of Dwight Pattison and Sue Jeffery. We played pretty quickly, for a weekend event. We were pretty evenly matched as the adjusted scores indicate. The scores ranged from a low of 68, Van Gutman and Peacor, to a high of 71. Congratulations, Warren and Janice. Your names will be entered in the Sac ASGA Book of Records. Long Drive Winners were Paul Arquette and Suzie Everett. Winners of Closest to the Pin on number 17 (as tradition holds) were Warren Peacor and Sue Jeffery. Coincidentally Warren and Sue's ball both landed 8' 7" from the pin. Congratulations to all the winners. Don't spend you winnings all in one spot. We were off the course and headed for the Freeport Inn, next door, as is also tradition. And so another year of golf fun and friendship came to a close. And we will look forward to a new season on golf in 2018 (can you believe !). This won t be held in Florida, however, we re seeking a location in the mid-atlantic region, somewhere midway up the East Coast. Open for ideas! Paul Arquette has agreed to help out on scheduling some of the golf events so Paul & Dwight will manage the golf outings on a partnership basis. Thanks Paul for stepping up. We are looking at Hiddenbrooke, Silverado and maybe Chardonnay during the year as well as some outings at our local courses. If you have a favorite that you would like us to play, just e mail Paul or Dwight and we can probably arrange a day at that course. Also, don t forget to check out some of the other chapter events and the National events. Great way to meet some more golfers and enjoy golf away from home.
