3 ATHLETIC CLUB ACTIVITIES As a reminder, the gymnasium will be utilized by the Flying Horse Youth Basketball League on Mondays & Wednesdays January 13 March 12 from 4:00-8:00pm and will be closed to recreational play during this time. Come watch the games on Wednesday nights to support our community Basketball League! Ballet / Tap Combo Class Flying Horse is partnering with Lanay Dance and Yoga to bring in these classes. This combo is a great way to teach discipline and control, as well as keeping kids fit and healthy with strong bones. Who: children ages 3-5 When: once a week on Fridays (you may begin classes at any time) Time: Fridays 11:00-12:00pm Where: Athletic Club Multi-Purpose Room Cost: $50.00/month for Members / $60.00/month for Non-members Drop-in Rate: $15.00 ($18.00 for non-members) per class Minimum Participation: 5 kids (if minimum is not met classes may be cancelled with out notice) Registration Deadline: Join class any time Soccer Buddies Soccer Buddies is a child development soccer program for children ages 15 months through 5 years. Our high-energy, well trained coaches will take your child on an imaginative roller coaster ride through a jungle safari and into outer space all the while building their motor skills, physical fitness, confidence, coordination and more through the game of soccer. 4 ATHLETIC CLUB/CHILDREN S ACTIVITIES Pickleball Pickleball is a simple paddle game, played with a special perforated, plastic, slow moving ball over a tennis type net on a Badminton sized court. The ball is served underhanded, swinging the paddle below the waist, without bouncing it from the court. The ball is served to the opponent's service zone. Points are scored by the serving side and occur when the opponent faults. The server continues to serve, altering service courts, until server faults. A game is one by the first team which scores 11 points, but must continue until one team achieves a two point margin Drop-in times for Members and their guests (guests must be accompanied by a member). If you bring a guest, please contact the Security Gate at and check them in at the Front Desk. Guest fees for Pickleball only are $5.00 for this event. Tuesdays & Thursdays: 9am-12pm (half court) Saturdays: 8-11am (full court) Please remember to check-in at the Front Desk The Club has 4 wood Diller paddles & balls that can be checked out from the Front Desk on a first come first serve basis Adult Men s Member Pick-Up Basketball Member Pick-Up Basketball, full court, is on Tuesdays: 6:00-9:00pm If you bring a guest, please contact the Security Gate at and check them in at the Front Desk. 5 GOLF NEWS Everyone is getting the Golf Bug The golf bug is in the air and everyone is getting ready to get back out on the links! With that said, the Learning Center is frequently busy so be sure to call the Golf Shop to check for availability. Upgrade to New Equipment! We take trade on most clubs! Just drop them by the Golf Shop or talk to Tye to get a quote. Credit from your old unwanted clubs can be used to buy new clubs or merchandise from the Golf Shop! With the Learning Center we are able to allow you to hit clubs and experience true ball flight year round. Balls may be hit onto the outdoor range until there are only three den caddies remaining; at this point the Learning Center will be available to hit balls into nets only. This is a quick start program that focuses on stroke production, technique and scoring. It s 90 full minutes of practice, performance, and high-energy play. 9 FITNESS/PILATES Pilates Now is the time to commit to Reformer Pilates to get in shape for Spring. Your body will be leaner, you will be stronger and you will use your core in ways you never thought possible. Cost is $80.00 for 4 classes per month. 90 Day Challenge Update: Our fearless Members have been working hard to continue to decrease their body fat and increase lean muscle mass in The Pilates Studio. Only one more month to go and we will be collecting body measurements and celebrating you and your healthy lifestyle. Keep plugging away for the last 30 days and give it your all! Group Fitness Barre classes are being held on Tuesdays at 8:30am, Fridays at 9:45am and Wednesday evenings at 6:00pm. Come try it out and you will see what it means to work your glutes and leave burning in all the right areas. Senior Fitness: Our senior fitness classes are a HUGE success thanks to our great Members committing to fitness on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11:00am. Bring a friend and come try it out for all of you who are 55 and older. You will love it! Evening Classes: We have evening classes Monday- Thursday nights ranging from Yoga to Pump to Barre and Family Fitness. 10 AQUATICS Swim Team Pikes Peak Athletics is excited to be able to offer high-level competitive swimming options for the Club at Flying Horse. We are completing our final clinic this month and are gearing up for pre-season. Pre-season runs April through May and offers a great opportunity to get a leg-up on the summer league competition. With video review, drill progression, strength and conditioning, and a low swimmer to coach ratio, this program will help you make a seamless transition into summer league practices. We encourage you to drop by the pool and meet the coaches or contact kwarren@pikespeakathletics.com for any questions you may have. Swim Lessons Don t wait until summer to refresh those swimming skills, start preparing today! Private and semi-private lesson are available year round, offering a flexible schedule through March and April. You can purchase your lessons in a single or 5-pack package. 11 KIDS CABIN Hours of Operation Monday-Saturday 8:00am 7:00pm Sunday 8:00am 5:00pm Date Night Wed., Fri. & Sat. 6:00pm 9:00pm Extended Hours in the Kids Cabin The Kids Cabin would like to provide care for your child so you can attend these special Club activities. The Kids Cabin will remain open until 8:00 pm for the following events: Tuesday Evenings for Men s Pick-up Basketball Monday and Wednesday evenings for the Youth Basketball League through March 12 th Thursday Evening for Family Dinner Night Date Night is offered Friday & Saturday nights 7:00-9:00pm while you dine in La Fortezza or the Tack Room. As an added benefit, Monthly Pass holders will not pay an additional charge. If you do not have a Monthly Pass, the fee per hour per child is $3.00. **Reservations are required no later than 12:00pm on the day of the reservation so we can staff appropriately. Based on availability we will accept reservations after this time (Please call the Kids Cabin to confirm). If reservations are not received, the Kids Cabin will close at our normal time. As usual children may stay in the Kids Cabin a maximum of 3 hours in a 24 hour period. 11
