Brian Nadeau Brian's Playbook: Ladder play of win, 2x place and 3x show, DBL with #2 in R5 and a must-use in the Pk5 and early Pk4. Race 5 Bel #2 Ro Bear (4-1) (turf or dirt) Our Eyes: 8/28 Heavy tote action, settled early, sharp, stunning rush to the lead, a bit premature, predictably tired late behind a runaway winner; look out next time. UPDATE: He went two turns, instead of 7F's, and didn't fire, but he's back at the scene of the trip note today, drew well and will offer value too. WOODBINE Race 7 WO #2 Pengally Bay (4-1) Our Eyes: Set the pace, was caught late and finished 3 rd in an Ontario stakes last time. Her jockey lost his whip late in the race. She held on well for her maiden win two races back and drops back to miles. Solid threat throughout this one. Didn't give way much at all in blanket finish for minor placings and galloped out pretty well considering. Should move forward and meets much of the same cast. Race 10 CD #3 Chester's Park (5-1) Our Eyes: Exits an always-underrated Ellis turf allowance sprint, and winner last out came back here to be very competitive in a Saturday allowance last week. LAUREL PARK Race 1 Lrl #6 Blimey (2-1) Our Eyes: This group is a combined 4 for 79 in 2014 and I would be absolutely shocked if this Lacey Gaudet trained 8yo gelding doesn't wire this field or at worst lay second behind the 1 horse into the stretch. DC Dino Herrera Dino's Playbook: 5x win or single in the DD or Pk3. Race 8 Lrl #5 Unseen (10-1) Our Eyes: This 4yo Latent Heat colt need only repeat his Lrl Dash race. Was off to a sluggish start his last two. Ran against better at Mth. Only his 2nd race in a year. Will get the jump on the outside speed if trainer Kobiskie has him gate sharp. Race 9 Lrl #8 Fundamental (6-1) Our Eyes: Of course 6-5 favorite and GI winner Force The Pass should win, but Jose Ortiz gives up rides at Bel to ride in this feature for Chad Brown. Veteran router can move up from that 1 st one here and should be comfortable in stalking a solid pace. This gelding was claimed and makes first start for new connections working on his third straight win. Terry Turrell Terry's Playbook: Bet to win, key in the exotics. Our Eyes: This gelding hasn t been seen since a win over this track in July. Trainer Lorenzo Ruiz claimed him that day and Ruiz is 4-for-8 first off the claim and 24% off a layoff of this time. Race 5 LRC #5 Warren My Boy (4-1) Our Eyes: Gelding improved showing speed to deep stretch tiring late to be third at 19-1 odds. Not many in this jockey colony stronger and more effective on the engine than Edwin Maldonado. In a race void of early speed I look for this gelding to be on or near the engine from flag to wire. Race 6 LRC #8 Counterplay (6-1) Our Eyes: This gelding gets a huge jockey switch from apprentice Kennedy to veteran Prat, who has won 4 of his last 8 mounts over the last 7 days. This 2yo has some tactical speed and Prat might be the answer for trainer Vann Belvoir. He showed keen tactical speed tracking to the far turn, took over the lead and won under a perfect ride from the red-hot Flavien Pratt. Super pace projected and fast Sunset Glow being overbet off 2YO form, now facing elders is a play-against helping others prices. Looking for closers to run 1-2 and Julien Leparoux in the zone at KD now partners with top pick. Win 5. Trifecta 5 w/ 9,6,1 w/ all. Pretty deep field so the price should be decent on Lady Lara even with a drop in class from facing the division s elite. Too close to the pace vs. tougher in NY, expect Leparoux to show patience aboard Kathballu. Late pace figs sprinting at CD are outstanding. Chide also figures to like return to CD/1 turn. With speed to her inside the Sheppard runner should have the perfect trip. One Minute suffered a tough trip in stakes last out; hit a tough group to try the turf and can definitely improve with Leparoux. Off two near misses at this level, Ain t Hesitatin will be tough if he draws in. The colt has a potent late kick; the only one in field to put together 3 consecutive solid efforts. Henryville has had excuses and could step up with Albarado. Wildlife Artist drops to an all time low and makes his second run over the course with Court staying despite abysmal effort last out. Country Club makes his turf debut and is bred to like it. Tough different trainer entry for Ramsey s I Believe I Can and Shock Em All. The former makes races off the claim strong angle for the barn and is likely to sit a nice, stalking trip under Joe Rocco with the blinkers coming off. Self Starter, meanwhile, acted up prior to his debut at Saratoga; showed a bit of early speed before fading. Colt continues to train well and, if more settled, is likely to be a big factor. Shock Em All closed well at Arlington and is likely to take to the undulating course. Truly a riders race w/ so many having tactical speed. Vapor Cloud will be tough if she draws in for streaking Chris Block stable. Filly training well, impressive in her last at Arlington, where a lot of winners have come from. Lovely Moon capable of sitting off pace & finishing well; filly lightly raced & improving. Sweet Talkin one of the more effective late runners in field; off form but freshened up w/ this as a likely target. Mio Me just missed at this track/level a few weeks ago hard to leave out. Star s Bella Vita moves up in company for her 2 nd start; debut was good despite trouble away from gate. Filly made up a lot of ground and gets hot jock Rocco. First time Lasix for Sacred Luna, who makes her first start since January. Filly had decent foundation and is bred to handle course. Awesome Song also adding Lasix and 2 nd last out at Woodbine. Annulment just missed in the tough WVA Presidents Cup and, with tactical speed, can sit an ideal trip under Albarado. Secret Someone does her best running late and, consequently, may have a harder time as there s not a lot of early speed but she may move up on this course. Kitten s Dumplings, another late runner, is the class of the field w/ a grade I to her credit but another up against it style wise. I m Already Sexy won this race last year and loves the course; needs to settle off a world of early speed if she s going to repeat, but with Leparoux up, believe she will. Lori s Store invades from FL off two impressive, late running stakes scores. Trainer Wolfson ships sparingly and with success and mare should get ideal pace set up. Cape Lady exits a key race on the poly and has a turf pedigree for trainer who does good work overall. Works are very good and like that Prat takes the call. Downside Scenario cuts back distance and goes second out for Stall who wins 22% with those types. Sandburg Village adds Lasix off a tiring effort in her debut. Filly will move forward w/ Albarado. Pattitude raced well at KD as a maiden and invades from Del Mar off a victory. Filly will be firing late. Lavendar Chrissie goes first time turf and, by Scat Daddy, is bred to like it. Filly gets class relief and has done little wrong in 4 starts. Zipso Facto and Boss Barney s Babe equal in ability; worth noting Boxx Barney s Babe s only turf try came here and was solid against top company.

7 10 #6 Maria Maria #2 Honey Lake #8 Dido #5 Always Kitten Maria Maria seems best suited for the marathon distance and gets Leparoux, one of top jocks at meet. Working well for first start since July; she doesn t win a lot but fits nicely here. Honey Lake the main rival as horse for course has been successful at the distance. Mare in good form w/ stakes win at Del Mar last out. Dido and Always Kitten seems tad below top two but will like distance and not without small shot. 11 #1 Giant Deduction #10 Queen of Scat #11 Return to Grace #12 Miss Double d Oro Lightly raced Giant Deduction took a big step up in the Pucker Up and while her placing wasn t great, she made up a ton of ground despite trouble and was beaten just a couple lengths. Extra distance suits and the barn has been on a roll. Queen of Scat also good late runner in great form and likely to like the distance. Return to Grace was ahead of Giant Deduction, just missing in the Pucker Up; not certain how she ll handle the added distance but definitely has ability and good jock in Rocco. 12 #2 Tiger Paw #11 M Forty Four #10 Argot #5 Solan First timer Tiger Paw has shown nice works in morning and hails from stable that does well with young grass runners. Son of Kitten s Joy well suited for the turf. M Forty Four adds Lasix and shortens up slightly off a decent third. Argot hasn t had the best of trips lately at Saratoga; may fare better over the KD course #7 Chalice #10 Olympic Thunder #1 Closing Prize #6 Gill s Terrace Chalice goes third off the lahyoff and exits a fairly tough spot that should set him up for a big step forward. Gelding has raced creditably before over the course. Olympic Thunder has some back class and while not quite what he used to be, is still capable of a good effort. Closing Prize likely to be running on late. Gill s Terrace looks for 3 rd win in row.

Hall of FamerSheppard wins 20% with imports, tab at a price. Special Treat likely to get over bet on strength of connections, still, training too well to overlook I turf debut. My Senses part of solid different trainer entry for Augustine; steadily improving. Pino entry offers strong punch with Wealth to Me slightly stronger on paper while moving up in class off claim. Barn wins 23% on this angle &classy veteran rarely runs bad race. Fire Alarm, meanwhile, is also off the claim but off lackluster effort. Time off and move back to dirt big pluses, and gelding has great stats at this track. I Spent It comes back off six months rest and should be a new horse. Colt was a monster in his first three races last year including two graded stakes. Training very well for return and gets class relief. If he fires the others running for second with Grey by You most likely to rally big late. Ton of early speed types; Birdie Carnage looks able to relax slightly off lead and, adding blinkers, may be able to settle into a perfect trip. Bluegrass Beat may be fastest of all, little concerned filly draws to inside but should be sharp and ready. Pumpkin Rumble consistently 1 st or 2 nd on grass and coming off a stakes win. Given time after minor issues, will be ready and can stalk or run late. Willy d Rocket coming off 2 nice efforts at Penn; if form carries over could be tough. Not Goliath adds blinkers for high percentage Servis. Undefeated in two starts at Parx, Freestyler has won 5 of his last 6 carefully spotted by trainer Alexander; draws well, will get ideal stalking trip. Street Babe main rival also with ability to stalk what should be a very hot early pace. Encryption training big out for first start since June.. Limousine Liberal is least experienced but impressive in 3 starts including runner up effort in grade 1 Kings Bisho.. Continues to train well and can take it to them early or sit off speed. GrandBili likely to be part of pace early; 2 nd start off layoff, drawn to outside will be sharper. Trouble Kid stepping way up in class; loves track&fastest early of group..race appears I'm achatterbox s to lose; graded stakes winner shortens to arguably best distance and can sit off all the early speed. Filly comes off two big efforts at Saratoga in top company and meets, overall, easier field with ideal pace set up. Tara's Tango invades from Ca. Not worse than 2 nd in 5 races and connections must be respected. Frosted has been battling with American Pharoah much of the year; finally gets shot to run his own race after better than it first appeared 3 rd in Travers. If that effort didn't take anything out of him, definitely one to beat. Island Town steadily improving and benefits from easy, big win in prep over this track. Iron Fist struggled in West VA but has solid CA credentials and enough tactical speed to be a force. Knocking on door at this level, Que Facil poised to run big 3 rd off layoff.
