1 NEWSLETTER February 2012 Today is life - the only life you are sure of. Make the most of today. Get interested in something. Shake yourself awake. Develop a hobby. Let the winds of enthusiasm sweep through you. Live today with gusto. From the Headmaster s desk Dear Parents and Friends of the Academy Dale Carnegie February has once again proved to be a very busy time at the Academy. Mr Vinay Harry, one of our academic staff, represented the Academy at a function hosted by the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education. This ceremony was held for schools that achieved outstanding results in the 2011 NCS exams. Mr Harry received a certificate and trophy on our behalf. On the riding side, the 1 st year apprentices are progressing well under the careful guidance of our riding masters Mr van Wyk, Mr Donoghue and Mr Jupp. At a recent national meeting held by all the riding masters, they expressed how impressed they were with the progress of the 1 st years. The race riding apprentices are doing really well. On this note we congratulate Sanish Ramgopal, Mandla Ntuli and Reehaze Hoolash (Cape Town) who rode their first winners. Reehaze Hoolash s 1 st win at Kenilworth Sanish Ramgopal s 1 st win at Scottsville Mandla Ntuli s 1 st win at Scottsville We would also like to congratulate the following race riding apprentices who also achieved milestones during February: Donavan Dillon for his double win at Scottsville on Tuesday 28 th February Hennie Greyling for riding his 50 th winner and Nooresh Juglall for securing his 100 th winner.
