Exhibitors wishing to enter class 13 and are not registered with The British Show Horse Association can purchase a day ticket details from www. britishshowhorse.org Classes 1 4; 10 12, 14 18; 28-32; 35-49; are qualifiers for Equifest The two highest placed exhibits, not already qualified, will qualify for the relevant Equifest Championship to be held at the East of England Show ground on the 17 th -21 st August Classes are qualifiers for the 2016 Horse of the Year Show (5 th -9 th October 2016) and are held subject to the Horse of the Year Show rules for 2016, a copy of which can be downloaded from Only one pony in each class qualifies; the highest placed (if not already qualified), from the first five ponies placed in each class will qualify. Owners and Riders must be BSPS; NPS; P(UK) or The Showing Register members and the Pony registered with the BSPS; NPS; P(UK) or The Showing Register to compete in these classes. Horse of the Year Show qualification is subject to confirmation from the Horse of the Year Show office. This Show is affiliated to the British Show Horse Association (BSHA) and Class 13 is held under their rules. Competitors and Horses must be registered or have temporary membership with a Day Ticket. Horses registered with the Association must be Owned Exhibited and Ridden by current BSHA members. Riders must be 15 years of age or older. Registration numbers must be quoted on entry form. Day Tickets. Non-members may purchase up to a maximum of 2 Day tickets per Exhibitor, per Horse, per Rider, per season. See BSHA Website for Day Ticket Application form.

7 This Show is affiliated to the British Show Pony Society ( BSPS ) and all persons entering, competing, showing or otherwise taking part in BSPS classes (19 26) are subject to the Constitution and Rules of the BSPS including the disciplinary procedures and shall be deemed to have consented to the jurisdiction of the BSPS. Affiliation No 150/16 This show is a qualifier for the 2016 BSPS Championships Show, to be held 24 th -27 th August at Arena UK. The 1st and 2nd prize winners only in classes 19-23; will qualify and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners only in classes will qualify for the Championships Show, provided the animal is registered in accordance with rules 23 & 28 of the BSPS 2016 rule book and ridden by a BSPS member. This Show is a qualifier for the BSPS Blue Riband Pony of the Year. The 1st & 2nd prize winners in classes will qualify provided the pony is owned, registered and ridden by a BSPS member. This Show is a qualifier for the BSPS Champion of Champions. The Champion Mini Show Pony, the Champion Open Show Pony and the Champion Intermediate will qualify provided the pony is owned, registered and ridden by a BSPS member. This show is a qualifier for the BSPS Classic Security UK Ltd Challenge. The highest placed pony in classes that has not qualified for the 2016 Horse of the Year Show in the appropriate class, will qualify. If the highest placed pony has already qualified for the BSPS Challenge, the qualification will be awarded to the next eligible pony provided the pony is owned, registered and ridden by a BSPS member. This Show is a qualifier for the BSPS Black Country Saddles Best Rider of the Year. The Best Rider in classes will receive a card and qualify for the final at the BSPS 2016 Summer Championships Show provided the pony is owned, registered and ridden by a BSPS member. Classes 15 18; at this show are qualifiers for the NPS Summer Championship Show (2-4 August 2016) to be held at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern. These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. Exhibits in these classes must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books and foals in class 40 must be eligible for registration in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part breds are not eligible. Qualifying rounds for most NPS competitions are open to ponies owned by NPS members and non- members but only ponies owned by adult NPS Qualifying or Life members are eligible to qualify for the final of the competition at the NPS Summer Championship Show at Malvern from 2-4 August The highest placed pony, if owned by NPS Qualifying or Life members, in each class qualifies for the final. Qualification may pass down to third in the event 1 st and 2 nd have qualified. Owner s membership cards to be shown in the ring NPS Silver Medal Rosette Championships: These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. NPS Silver Medal Rosettes are only awarded when the owner of the champion pony is a Qualifying or Life member of the NPS. If the Champion pony has previously qualified it is still entitled to the Silver Medal Rosette but the qualification goes to the Reserve Champion pony, provided the owner of that pony is a member of the NPS. The Silver Medal Rosette and the qualification card can be awarded no lower than first Reserve (third). Qualifiers are entitled to compete in the final of the Silver Medal Rosette Championship to be held at the NPS Summer Championship Show 2-4 August 2016

8 Classes 28-32; are open to Skewbald and Piebald Horses/Ponies only. Classes 28-31; are affiliated to the British Skewbald and Piebald Association (BSPA) and are qualifiers for the BSPA World Championships of Colour National Championship Show to be held at The College EC, Keysoe, Beds., on the 10 th September This show is affiliated to The Shetland Pony Stud-Book Society and Best Shetland rosettes will be awarded in classes 15; 16; 17; 39; 41; 42 and 43 providing the exhibit is registered with the society. Exhibits in Classes 50 & 51 must be fully paid up members of the International Miniature Horse and Pony Society Ltd (IMHPS) or members of the Miniature Horse Club of Great Britain (MHCGB) and horses registered with either society. Horses registered with IMHPS and placed 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd in both classes qualify for the Miniature Horse of the Year Show to be held on 1 st & 2nd October 2016 at Keysoe College, Bedford. Horses registered with MHCGB and placed 1 st 3 rd will qualify for their Grand Championship Show to be held at Oakridge Arena, Newark on the 27 th -30 th August This Show is a qualifier for TSR Riders Championships. This show is a qualifier for the 2016 TSR Riders Regional Championships. Qualify and enter ANY of the Regional Finals Central, East Anglia, North West, North East, South East, South, Wales & South West or Scottish. You do not have to be a TSR member to qualify or enter a final. The Rider qualifies and can enter any horse/pony in any number of Finals! TSR Riders Champs - 1 st and 2 nd riders qualify in classes 1 4; 10 12; & 32 and will receive a qualification card in the ring. Full details at Classes & are qualifiers for the NPS Cornwall Area 26 End of Season Extravaganza Show. To be held on 17th of September 2016 at Colraine Equestrian Centre, Nr Truro, Cornwall. First and Second prize winners in NPS affiliated classes will receive a qualification card. **************************** Any exhibitor wishing to enter a protest must do so in writing to the Secretary, accompanied by a deposit of 5. If the protest is not sustained, the deposit may be forfeited. If the protest is upheld and any award winner becomes disqualified, the winner of the next succeeding award will take the award of the disqualified winner and the lowest award shall go to the reserve award. No protest can be accepted after the conclusion of the Show, nor will any protest be accepted until all the horses in the particular class have left the ring. This does not affect the protest procedures for affiliated classes. **************************** RIDDEN CLASSES Class 1 NUPAFEED / EQUIFEST OPEN RIDDEN COB Standard & Maxi; Mare or Gelding, 4 years old or over, exceeding 148cms, rider any age. If sufficient entries, this class will be split. The winner to receive the Henry Prowse Perpetual Memorial Cup. This class is a qualifier for Equifest 2016 for both standard and maxi cob. TSR Rider Championship Qualifier.

9 Class 2 Class 3 NUPAFEED / EQUIFEST RIDING HORSE; Mare or Gelding, 4 years old or over, exceeding 148cms, rider any age. The winner to receive the Jack & Christine Manhire Perpetual Memorial Trophy. This class is a qualifier for Equifest 2016 for both small Riding Horse and large. TSR Rider Championship Qualifier. Championship 1st & 2nd prize winners from classes 1 & 2 are eligible. The Champion to receive a Trophy presented by the President. MISS JO BREW / EQUIFEST SMALL HUNTER; Mare or Gelding, 4 years old or over, to exceed 148cms but not exceeding 158cms. The winner to receive the perpetual Stroll-On salver. This class is a qualifier for Equifest TSR Rider Championship Qualifier. Class 4 MR E & MRS S A KYDD / EQUIFEST RIDDEN HUNTER; Mare or Gelding, 4 years old or over, to exceed 148cms, rider any age. The winner to receive the ABB Offshore Systems Ltd Trophy. This class is a qualifier for Equifest TSR Rider Championship Qualifier. Ridden Hunter Championship 1st & 2nd prize winners from classes 3 & 4 are eligible. The Champion to receive the Pauls & White perpetual trophy. DRIVING CLASS Class 5 OPEN DRIVING CLASS; Please give details of vehicle and any other interesting pieces of information for the commentator, on a separate sheet of paper. The winner will receive the Aztec for Canon Perpetual Trophy. The best Junior Whip will receive the Jack Manhire Perpetual Memorial Trophy. CORNISH COMBINATION CLASSES The following classes are open to exhibits owned and ridden by residents of Cornwall and conformation will not be judged. No rider may enter more than one class. Dress code: All mounted competitors must wear a hat or skull to the current safety standard; Tweed, Navy or Black jackets acceptable; No ear-rings or studs to be worn; Spurs may be worn in class 9 only. Class 6 Class 7 LEAD REIN; Open to mares and geldings, 4 years old or over. Riders to have attained their 3rd birthday but not their 8th birthday by the 13/7/16. Snaffle bridles must be worn with the leading rein attached to the noseband. The youngest rider to receive the W.D. Uren Perpetual Trophy. FIRST RIDDEN; Open to mares and geldings, 4 years old or over. Riders to have attained their 7th birthday but not their 12th birthday by 13/7/16. No leading reins. Any suitable bridle.

10 Class 8 YOUNG RIDER; Open to mares and geldings, 4 years old and over. Riders to have attained their 12th birthday but not their 16th birthday by 13/7/16. Any suitable bridle. The winner to receive the Somar International Perpetual Shield. Best Rider Championship Two riders each from classes 6-8 will be nominated to come forward for the Championship. The Dingle Silver Perpetual Challenge Cup will be presented to the Best Rider. Class 9 OPEN; Open to mares and geldings, 4 years old and over. Riders 16 years or over. Any suitable bridle. The winner to receive the Somar International Perpetual Shield. Combination Championship 1st & 2nd prizewinners from classes 6-9 are eligible. The H&A Waste Services Perpetual Cup will be presented to the Champion. WORKING CLASSES NB: All exhibitors in classes must declare for jumping at the entrance to Ring 2, 15 minutes before the start of their class. Class 10 KBIS / EQUIFEST OPEN W.H.P.; Mare or Gelding, 4 years old or over, not exceeding 133cms. Riders not to have attained their 14th birthday before 1/1/16. This class is a qualifier for Equifest TSR Rider Championship Qualifier. Class 11 KBIS / EQUIFEST OPEN W.H.P.; Mare or Gelding, 4 years old or over, exceeding 133cms not exceeding 143cms. Riders not to have attained their 17th birthday before 1/1/16. This class is a qualifier for Equifest TSR Rider Championship Qualifier. Class 12 KBIS / EQUIFEST OPEN W.H.P.; Mare or Gelding, 4 years old or over, exceeding 143cms not exceeding 153cms. Riders not to have attained their 20th birthday before 1/1/15. This class is a qualifier for Equifest TSR Rider Championship Qualifier. W.H.P. Championship 1st & 2nd prize winners from classes are eligible. The Winner to receive the Ben Dale Memorial Trophy. Class 13 BSHA WORKING SHOW HORSE; (See Information for Exhibitors) Open to Hacks, Cobs, Maxi Cobs and Riding Horses; mare or gelding four years old and over, exceeding 148cms. Riders must be 15 years of age or older. Any Horse which is a Grade B Showjumper, Intermediate Eventer, or above, as at 1/1/2016 is not eligible to compete. A Rider may ride up to two Horses in the jumping phase but must then select one Horse to take through to the Ride and Conformation phases (if required). No change of Rider is allowed. This class is a qualifier for The SEIB Working Show Horse of the Year Final to be held at the BSHA National Championship Show. The two highest placed horses in the top five, not already qualified, will qualify for the Final; no horse placed lower than fifth will qualify.

11 Class 14 THE STOKES FAMILY / EQUIFEST OPEN WORKING HUNTER; Mare, Gelding or Stallion (competing stallions must have a red, white and blue ribbon displayed in their tail) 4 years old or over, exceeding 148cm. Rider any age except for stallions when the rider must have attained their 14 th birthday by 1/1/16. Maximum height of fences 1 metre at the discretion of the Judges. Rider any age except stallions (see NPS Rule Book). No Leading Rein combinations. This class is a qualifier for Equifest TSR Rider Championship Qualifier. Best Shetland rosette available in this class. Class 18 LARGE BREEDS: Open to registered pure bred Connemara, Dales, Fell, Highland, New Forest, Welsh C, Welsh D, stallions, mares and geldings four years old or over. Rider any age except stallions (see NPS Rule Book). No Leading Rein combinations. This class is a qualifier for Equifest TSR Rider Championship Qualifier. Mountain and Moorland Ridden Championship 1st & 2nd prize winners from classes 17 & 18 are eligible. The Champion to receive the Bottrell Perpetual Shield. The Champion and Reserve Champion will qualify for the Native Pony Association, Cornwall - Native Pony Champion of Champions Championship NPS/The Minns Ridden M & M Silver Medal Rosette Championship. A Silver Medal Rosette is offered by the National Pony Society for the best registered pony owned by an NPS member in this section. Any substitution must be made on an official British Showjumping form and either sent to the show secretary prior to showday or handed to the judge at time of declaration 79.4(5). We also accept our responsibility for the health and safety of other people who may be affected by our activities. The Association encourages family participation and therefore acknowledges the increased risks to young and/or inexperienced volunteers. The Board of Trustees acknowledge that Health and Safety responsibilities within the Association are of equal importance as other priorities. Although the Board of Trustees accept responsibility for the implementation of this policy, it relies on individual employees/volunteers to accept their own duty and responsibility to themselves, fellow workers and others who might be injured/affected by their acts or omissions. The allocation of duties for safety matters and the particular arrangements that we will make to implement the policy are set out below. The policy will be kept up to date, particularly if the Association s activities change in nature and size. To ensure this, the policy and the way in which it has operated will be monitored and reviewed every year or more frequently if required. SAFETY INFORMATION AND GUIDANCE All Exhibitors must comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and all relevant Regulations and Guidance, Animal exhibitors must also comply with the Animal Welfare Act 2006 and any relevant codes of practice, guidance, etc. provided by the relevant governing body organisations SHOW SECURITY Limited security cover by the Association s official security contractor will be provided nightly between 7.00 p.m. and 7.00 a.m. from Monday before the Show and then continuously from 2.00 p.m. on the Sunday until 7 a.m. on the Tuesday after the Show. You must be aware that the Showground is large, with multiple entrances and that the security officials cannot be in all areas at all times. The Association will not be responsible for the safe custody of any article brought for exhibition, nor will they be answerable for any loss or damage that may occur to any article. 24 FIRE SAFETY All catering outlets or trade stands must assess the risk of fire and provide for effective primary fire prevention equipment where any potential ignition sources are present. GAS SAFETY Any fixed installation gas equipment (cookers, pipe work, valves etc) must comply with the provisions of the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 L56 (Fourth Edition) published All catering vans / marquees with gas installation MUST have a Gas Safety Certificate / Gas Safety Record. Note: These certificates can ONLY be issued by an Engineer that is listed on the Gas Safe Register. A certificate MUST BE provided to the organisers prior to entry to the event. PORTABLE ELECTRICAL APPLIANCE SAFETY HSG107-Third Addition 2013 INDG236-Rev The law requires electrical equipment to be maintained to prevent danger. The type and frequency of user checks, inspections and testing needed will depend on the equipment, the environment in which it is used and the results of previous checks. All portable electrical equipment brought onto the showground must comply with: HSG Third Edition 2013 Maintaining portable and transportable electrical equipment, or INDG236 - Third Edition 2013 Maintaining portable electrical equipment in offices and other low risk environments. SHOWGROUND TRAFFIC All showground traffic must give priority to pedestrians and riders and strictly observe speed restrictions at times when such movement is permitted. During the Show (0900 to 1800 hours) all showground roadways must be kept clear of any vehicles, exhibits, stands, canopies, etc. to allow free passage of emergency vehicles at any time. Please note strictly no unauthorised movement of vehicles will be permitted within the show ground between the hours of 0900 and 1800 hours. N.B. Trade and Craft Stand Exhibitors are required to remain open until 1800 and MUST NOT attempt to leave the Showground before that time due to the danger of interaction with pedestrians Livestock exhibitors: may leave the showground prior to 1800 hours, subject to the approval of the Showyard Directors and notification to the Section Secretary (movement is only to comply with DEFRA Animal Welfare regulations). MAJOR INCIDENT PLANNING (SITE EVACUATION) In the event of a major incident where it is necessary to evacuate the site, in accordance with the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, please follow all signs and instructions from the Organisers and Emergency Services. ALL people will be requested to evacuate the site, until it is deemed safe to return. The Association accepts no responsibility for any property or livestock or any person or persons who fail to comply with the request to evacuate the showground. Public Liability Insurance Whilst the Association has public liability cover in place for its own protection, this insurance does not provide for competitors or any liability which they incur. Our insurers strongly recommend that all competitors have in place their own insurance cover.
