IMPORTANT: The horse entrance from the float parking area to the ring, is at the eastern side of the pine hedge (next to the shingle road). This is the ONLY ENTRY/EXIT for horses. Thank you for your assistance. This section is run under Category 3 of the Royal Agricultural Society Equestrian Competitors and Judges Rules. The Committee retains the right to combine or alter classes as necessary. THE GROUNDS AND RING ARE IRRIGATED. JUDGING TO COMMENCE AT 8.00am for District Classes. District Classes are restricted to horses owned and ridden by persons residing in the Amuri, between the Hurunui and Conway Rivers. All other classes to commence at 8.30am. ONLY HORSES OR PONIES COMPETING IN THE SHOW ARE PERMITTED ON THE GROUNDS. HATS AND SAFETY HELMETS All riders including Harness drivers, competing at RAS affiliated Shows/Events must wear protective headgear. Hats/Helmets must conform with one of the current approved safety standards. These standards may be subject to change from time to time. The latest list can be found at http/ equestrian RAS will advise any changes via their website and facebook. All helmets must have an official red tag. CLEAN SPORT The rules of the Royal A&P Society New Zealand in regard to Clean Sport apply. Competitors are advised that Clean Sport testing may be carried out during the Show/Event and that testing of all animals is at the person responsible's risk. Forbidden Substance - Any substance capable of affecting the speed, stamina, courage or conduct of a horse, pony, donkey or mule by its action upon the central or peripheral nervous system or the cardiovascular, respiratory, alimentary, digestive, muscoskeletal or urogenital systems. YELLOW CARD This Show/Event supports the RAS 'Yellow Card' system. A Yellow Card will be issued, in cases of offences in respect of abuse of animals or inappropriate behavour as per the RAS Constitution and the RAS Rules & Regulations/Bylaws including the Equestrian Rule Book, the RAS affiliated Show/Event/registered Measuring Stand and their grounds and their duly appointed delegates may deliver to the person responsible a Yellow Warning Card (either immediately or within 10 days of the show) which suspends any penalty until possible new offences. Full wording of the 'Yellow Card' system is available to view on the RAS website - NOVICE CLASSES: A Novice exhibit is a horse or pony that has yet to win six (6) classes in any division within the classes provided at any A&P Show. Novices may enter the appropriate novice classes for their wins, and in any open classes. The Association relies upon the integrity of competitors to record their entries wins, which can be checked by a steward and updated as required on Show Day. Novices to be shown in a snaffle bit. Competitors must be ready to enter the ring when their class is called. After final call is announced the ring will be closed and entry fee forfeited. Rider to enter only one rider class. Height and Performance Cards are to be carried at all times (refer Rule 67, RAS Rule Book). MEASURING No day certificates will be issued. Official Height Certificate available for remainder of season.

All winners of District Classes in both Horse and Pony sections are eligible and must be available to be judged.
