Senior Julie Cross paced the squad with three goals and two assists in the victory. The Orange are 8-0 this spring when winning the draw controls category and feature four players with 20 or more draws, led by 38 from Emily Hawryschuk. Hawryschuk also owns a team-best 55 points (44g, 11a) while Nicole Levy has 44 points (24g, 20a). Goalkeeper Asa Goldstock was second in the ACC and 11th nationally in goals against average (8.84) coming into the week. LAST TIME WE MET A stalwart defensive performance and balanced scoring effort guided Duke to a ACC road win at No. 11 Syracuse last March in the Carrier Dome. The Blue Devils held the Orange to just four goals in the second half. Kyra Harney, Olivia Jenner and Charlotte North all posted hat tricks in the victory, with North s three tallies giving her 41 for the season breaking Duke s freshman goals record. Grace Fallon logged a game-high six points while matching her career-best showing with five assists. BLUE DEVILS VS. THE ORANGE Senior attacker Olivia Jenner has totaled five goals and 19 draw controls in three career games against Syracuse to lead all current Blue Devils. Sophomore Charlotte North posted a hat trick in last year s meeting with the Orange while Catriona Barry had three draw controls and two caused turnovers. Junior goalkeeper Gabbe Cadoux has racked up 16 saves in two appearances against Syracuse. DUKE VS. THE ACC The Blue Devils are all-time in regular season ACC contests following last weekend s loss at No. 8 Virginia. NOTING DUKE SEASON-HIGH SCORING EFFORT AT CAMPBELL Led by seven tallies from Charlotte North, 12th-ranked Duke powered past Campbell by a 21-4 score Tuesday at the Camels Barker-Lane Stadium. Nine different Blue Devils contributed to the season-high scoring effort. Behind a stalwart defensive effort, the Blue Devils raced to a 15-3 halftime lead and closed the game on an 11-1 run. Duke also finished a perfect 13-of-13 on clearing attempts and surrendered just eight turnovers for the contest, marking a season-low. All four Duke goalkeepers saw time against the Camels, combining for seven saves. DEFENSE SHINES AGAINST CAMELS Duke s defensive unit allowed just four goals in Tuesday s non-conference victory in Buies Creek, marking the thirdlowest total notched by a Blue Devil opponent this season. Duke held the Camels to just one second-half tally and only 13 shots for the contest. Following a Melissa Placek score with 7:07 remaining in the first half, the Blue Devil defense held Campbell without a tally for nearly 37 minutes, fueling an 11-0 Duke run. Senior defender Charlotte Tucci had a game-high three caused turnovers in the win and combined with fellow senior Michelle Staggers and junior Lindsey Reynolds for nine ground balls (three each). The Duke defense has turned in a solid stretch in March, holding each six of its last seven opponents to 10 goals or fewer. Four opponents in that span have been limited to single-digit scoring.
