11 Animal Health Recrd Frms Treatment f Animals n the Fairgrunds At any time after an animal arrives at the fairgrunds, a licensed veterinarian shall administer all treatments invlving the use f drugs and/r medicatins ONLY after cnsultatin with and in the presence f a MSU CVM veterinarian and a written medicatin recrd must be filed with the Livestck Shw Management Office. 11

12 Animal Ownership Animals, which are wned jintly n a partnership basis with an adult, are nt eligible t shw in the Mississippi State Fair. FFA and 4 H members must be individual wners f any animal which they exhibit unless 2 r mre brthers r sisters (r legal fster child), each 18 years f age and under as f January 1 st f the current shw year, f a family, cnstitute a partnership in wnership f the animal. Animals must be registered in individual names and nt in the name f a farm, partnership r ther entity. Pending Registratin Infrmatin All registered beef and dairy breeding animals with pending infrmatin after September 15 will nt be allwed t shw at the Mississippi State Fair unless extenuating circumstances are presented in writing t the Rules Cmmittee within 5 days f the abve deadline. Animal registratin infrmatin will be verified electrnically befre the Mississippi State Fair. Updated registratin infrmatin fr each pending animal must be submitted t the supervising Extensin Agent / FFA Advisr by September

14 Breed Shw Determinatin If a breed (breeding r market) shws fewer than 10 animals fr 2 cnsecutive years, then that breed will lse its separate classificatin and be shwn in the ther breeds classificatin. If a breed shws 10 r mre fr 2 cnsecutive years, then that breed will receive a separate (breeding r market) classificatin. Market Animal Ownership Rule N market animal shall be shwn at any state supprted shw that has been shwn in any ther shw utside f Mississippi under different wnership. 14

15 Ownership Affidavit Dairy Cattle Fr the 2015 Mississippi State Fair, there is a pilt prgram where an exhibitr can have a signed affidavit by the current wner, exhibitr(s), exhibitr s parents / guardians, and Extensin Agent / FFA Advisr t stipulate that the exhibitr is in pssessin and has wnership f the animal fr the purpse f shwing at any Mississippi Junir Dairy Shw fr the dates recrded. All ther rules pertaining t pssessin, husing, and care f the animal still apply. A cpy f the affidavit and registratin certificate must be sent t the ADS ffice by the wnership deadline (September 1). Makeup f Rules Cmmittee Rules cmmittee fr the Mississippi State Fair will cnsist f the fllwing peple: (1) c manager f junir shw (4 H), (2) c manager f the junir shw (FFA), (3) superintendent f department invlved, (4) Livestck Directr, Mississippi Fair Cmmissin, (5) Extensin agent (appinted by Extensin Directr), 6) FFA advisr (appinted by State FFA Crdinatr) and 7) veterinarian (appinted by State Veterinarian). All decisins f the Rules Cmmittee are final. 15

16 Tent/Structure Rule N tents r similar structures are allwed in any livestck barns. Tables, chair, r ther leisure items will nt be allwed in stall area until after arrival deadline in case stall assignments need t be made. Herdsmen Awards The Mississippi State Fair will pay premiums listed belw in each species t the cunty grup, 4 H Club r FFA Chapter that keeps the cleanest aisle and mst attractive display. T qualify fr these special prizes, the cunty grup must cnsist f at least six animals r mre. Refer t page under Herdsmen awards fr mre details n judging criteria.
