Wildcat Cheerleaders are expected t shw the highest athleticism, sprtsmanship, mral cde f ethics, and standards f Millbrk High Schl. We cheer fr ftball, bth men s and wmen s basketball, and cmpete in multiple cheer cmpetitins during the fall and winter seasns. We are cmmitted t develping nt nly the athlete, but als the character and value f the persn. Nt nly d we emphasize cheerleading, we als believe in, and supprt, strng academics, schl pride, service, and unity within the squad. 2 MILLBROOK HIGH SCHOOL CHEERLEADING TRYOUTS REQUIREMENTS: (IN ORDER TO TRYOUT!) Students and a parent/guardian must sign the attached permissin slip. Students must meet the WCPSS eligibility requirements fr the 4 th quarter f the previus year Students must attend all days f tryuts. Students MUST have an updated Wake Cunty High Schl Athletic Participatin Frm (and current physical examinatin) filled ut and turned in BY THE 1 st day f TRYOUTS. This can be fund at the MHS Athletic Webpage alng with the physical examinatin frm ( Students wh make the team must be ready t attend all practices beginning after tryuts. Wednesday, August 2nd Tryut Sessin 5:30pm 7:30pm MHS in Gym 2 Thursday, August 3rd Tryut Sessin 5:30pm MHS Gym 2 Mnday, August 7 th Practices will begin 4:30 6:30pm Mandatry Parent/Cheerleader 6:30pm in the Cafeteria **A calendar will be psted fr the practice schedule when teams are psted. 3 Millbrk High Schl Cheerleading Tryut Expectatins Jumps: Single and duble jumps Stunting: One legged skills and 360 cradles Tumbling: Minimum f a duble jump t back handspring and rund ff back handspring fr Varsity Mtins Dance Vice/Prjectin Overall: Cnfidence, effrt, wrk ethic, gd at fllwing directins, leadership skills, sprtsmanship Attire: Hair pulled cmpletely back (pnytail), prper athletic shes (cheer shes fr flyers), NO jewelry, and NO fake nails. Clthing expectatins are as fllws: Tryut Sessins 1 and 2 Tryut Sessin 3 Blue r black shrts BLACK shrts White r grey tp PLAIN white tp ABSOLUTELY NO JEWELRY! NO EXCUSES! Please d nt get anything pierced that yu cannt take ut and make sure yur nails are cut! Expectatins: Practices and games are mandatry. The seasn lasts frm August t March. Squads will have tw t three practices each week in additin t games. Bth squads shuld plan n cmpeting in at least three cmpetitins. Calendars will be distributed as early as pssible. We expect yu t place ur practices befre anything else. This includes all star cheerleading. If yu chse t cmmit t bth teams yu must speak with the cach befre tryuts t see if a plan can be wrked ut. Eligibility: All Millbrk Cheerleaders are expected t have and uphld at least a 2.0 GPA. Cheerleaders may be asked t submit regular grade reprts t the caches t maintain eligibility. If an F appears n yur reprt card as a quarter r final grade, yu will be dismissed frm the team. If a cheerleader has mre than 10 absences frm ANY perid at MHS, they will ineligible t try ut fr the seasn. If any cheerleader has 10 absences frm ANY perid at MHS after tryuts, they will be dismissed frm the team. Behavir: All Millbrk High Schl guidelines must be fllwed at all times. All fficial cheerleading decisins will be made by the caching staff. All caches are t be given respect and cperatin by cheerleaders and parents at all times. Lack f respect will nt be tlerated and can be grunds fr dismissal frm the team. Cheerleaders are expected t prmte a psitive image fr the schl cmmunity yur peers, parents, teachers, and ther cmmunity members. Any cheerleader using alchl, drugs, r tbacc will be dismissed immediately and suspended frm tryuts fr a year. Evidence f drinking, including, but nt limited t phtgraphs, will be grunds fr dismissal. Inapprpriate nline behavir including prvcative pictures, threats, ful language, and bad muthing f will be grunds fr dismissal. During cheerleading seasn, cheerleaders are nt permitted t participate in any ther sprts at Millbrk. WCPSS requires that athletes be present the entire schl day t be eligible fr practices and games.
