Even when we are dwn in a game, r if we happen t lse the game (it des happen), we are all expected t respect ur ppnents, refs, caches and teammates. Guidance & Mentring This is recreatin hckey. We all have ther respnsibilities, sme mre than thers. Keep this in perspective. Everyne n yur team plays at a different ability level and n tw f us have the same level f experience. We are ALL ging t make mistakes n the ice. Demeaning, blaming cmments wreck players self-esteem. It has n place n yur team r in this rganizatin. It is referred t as bench disease. Play t Have Fun Play t have fun with the gal f winning and giving it yur all in every game and practice. Dn t believe fr a secnd that any ne f us wants t lse mst r all f ur games because f pr effrt and attitude. That isn t any fun, and it defies the nature f cmpetitive sprts. Metr s cmpetitive travel teams are n the ice t HAVE FUN and win games. Inherent t that winning attitude is yur respnsibility t give 100% effrt n every shift, in every game and at every practice. Our ppnents will recgnize us by ur intense, cnsistent hustle and the pressure they face when playing us. If yu really dn t want t nr can t give it 100% when yu re ut there fr any shift, expect t get ff the ice and change yur line, r expect be called t change lines. 4 P a g e 3 Overview There are many different reasns why peple have jined this rganizatin - t scialize, t make new friends, t learn t play hckey, exercise, cmpetitin, t becme a mre skilled player, t have fun, etc. Metr ffers different prgrams and can direct yu t a variety f prgrams t fulfill yur hckey interest. This includes games with a mix f skill such as summer league r ur recreatin (rec) team, relaxed hckey such as ne f ur scrimmage grups, and mre cmpetitive leagues with balanced skill levels such as ur Brew City Blades travel teams. By playing n travel teams mre cmmitment is required alng with mre rules. Travel teams generally cnsist f 20 games (hme and away), 15 practices with the pprtunity t play in the WCHL playffs at the end f the seasn. Seasn runs Oct thru March. Brew City Blades belng t the WCHL (Wmens Central Hckey League). Currently there are 7 divisins in the WCHL D1 thru D7 Each team will help decide which WCHL divisin they chse t be in. A team may decide t play exhibitin and nt play in the WCHL. This means the team des nt need t cmply with the WCHL rules. The team des nt need t play nly players n their rster, nr d they need t play a specified number f games r teams. By chsing nt t participate in the WCHL they will nt have the pprtunity t play in the WCHL playffs. Our Rec team is an exhibitin team. Fr mre infrmatin n the WCHL please check ut their website at Team Snap is used fr all teams t keep track f rsters, schedule, attendance, payments, etc. All Team Meeting (Travel and Rec) At the start f each seasn the All Team Meeting will be held. This meeting is fr all Brew City Blades Hckey teams and is mandatry. If yu cannt attend this meeting, prir arrangements with the Metr bard must be made. This meeting is held t cver all the imprtant, behind the scene items t make yur seasn run smthly and fr all players t have the current and crrect infrmatin including: Reading and signing the Cde f Cnduct Cllecting fees First prtin f the fee must be cllected in rder t be listed n the team rster. (mre infrmatin under Team fees ) Issuing Jerseys and scks Determining the Team Manager fr each team (descriptin belw) Discussing Team Captain and Alternates Cach time with each team t talk abut the upcming seasn. Determining which directin the team ges All players get equal ice time n matter the situatin, imprving the skill f all players OR Special teams are created (i.e. PP and PK) and used as determined by the cach. This directin is used mre fr the win than fr strengthening f the team as a whle.

5 P a g e 4 Travel Teams Playing n a travel team requires mre cmmitment alng with mre rules. Travel teams generally play 20 games (hme and away), have 15 practices, and have the pprtunity t play in the WCHL playffs at the end f the seasn. The seasn runs Octber thrugh March. The Brew City Blades belng t the WCHL (Wmen s Central Hckey League). There are 7 divisins in the WCHL D1 thru D7 (D1 is the highest skill level). Team Snap is used fr all teams t keep track f rsters, schedule, attendance, payments, etc. Fr mre infrmatin n the WCHL please check ut their website at Travel Team Try uts (evaluatin sessin) In place f ding tryuts fr the entire rganizatin, teams are as they were fr the last seasn. The reasn fr this is t build n skill frm seasn t seasn. There will still be a tryut sessin. That sessin (time and date TBD, generally in July/August) will be fr players new t the rganizatin and fr players wh are interested in playing fr a different team than the ne they are currently n. Thse players wh feel their skills have imprved enugh t try ut fr a higher level team will be affrded the same pprtunities t try ut as players new t the rganizatin. Players will be added t teams as needed. If teams are full (13-15 fulltime skaters), the new recruit may chse t sub r play n a team that needs skaters until an pening is available. In additin, the player can be added t ur rec team, if they s chse. Players cming in after the seasn has started will need t be evaluated at a team practice (t be determined by Metr bard) and added t a team f their skill level as penings are available. N player may be added t a rster withut an evaluatin, unless apprved by Metr bard. All rsters are frzen as f Dec. 31 f each seasn. N players may be added after that date, with the exceptin f the rec team. Each seasn this prcess will be reviewed and adjusted if needed. Travel Full-time r Sub Players We understand that everyne has ther respnsibilities such as schl, wrk, family, kids, etc. As a full time skater yu are expected t attend at minimum 75% f all games and practices. If yu feel yu cannt cmmit t 75% f all practices and games, we ask that yu play as a sub n yur team. It is nt fair t yur teammates t frequently miss practices and games. Full Time PLayer A player may hld their spt n their team fr 1 year in the event a player cannt play due t pregnancy, injury, etc. This must be apprved by the Metr bard. A full time player has until the All Team Meeting t change their status frm full t sub. After that date the full time player is rstered as full time- and respnsible fr all full time fees fr the seasn

6 P a g e 5 Subs Players that chse t play as a sub will pay as they play. Subs are nt guaranteed a specific number f games and are called in as needed fr games. Subs are highly encuraged t attend any and all practices. Subs that d attend practices may be affrded a higher call in rate t play games since they have wrked with the team and knw what is expected in games. Duble Rstered Subs There is an pprtunity fr players that are rstered full-time n ne team t play as a sub n a 2 nd neighbring team within Brew City r utside f the rganizatin (e.g. If the player is rstered n D4, they culd ptentially sub n D5 r D2 depending n skill level). If interested, please let the Metr bard knw. This is fr the persn that wants and will attend bth hme and away games as well as practices fr the 2 nd team at a reduced fee. These subs pay as they play. WCHL rules fr duble rstering are fllwed. (see belw) WCHL explanatin f duble rstering Players can nly rster n tw league teams, and they must be in neighbring divisins. Hwever, rganizatins that have multiple teams that are nt in neighbring divisins can duble rster players per apprval f the Bard. Each team can "hst" a maximum f tw duble rstered players. This means that the hst team is their first pririty. Fr example, let s lk at a hckey rganizatin called Our Team that has Green and Blue level teams. Accrding t the duble rstering rule, tw Green players can play up n Blue, and tw Blue players can play dwn n Green. All duble rstered players must declare t the league which team is the primary team prir t the first league game. Galtenders d nt cunt tward the duble rstered players. Teams are allwed t duble-rster ne galie. Recreatinal (Rec) Team The Brew City Rec team is reviewed each seasn t determine the future f the rec team. Cmprised f players f all skill levels The seasn cnsists f 8-10 hme games. The team des minimal traveling. N practices. The cst fr this team is higher since they are playing primarily at hme. This team des nt have the reciprcating game t play s pays fr all games played. Need a minimum f full time skaters fr the team t be established. Games are played n Sunday, early afternn with hlidays ff. Games start in late Octber and run thrugh February. Any persn may sub n the rec team n an as needed basis. N USA Hckey registratin is needed fr the player that nly plays rec.

7 P a g e 6 Rec Team Subs Players must be n the Sub list (Metr Milwaukee Wmen s Hckey rster) t play in games. Players must sign the waiver f liability prir t playing games. Each sub must pay fr the games they play in. USA Hckey Registratin will nt be required fr Rec team players. The team manager (see descriptin belw fr details) keeps track f subs playing and cllects fees fr each game. Subs are called in, as needed fr games in the rder listed: 1-Rstered subs (nt n a travel team), regardless f skill. 2- Rstered subs (duble rstering nt rec frm a travel team) regardless f skill. 3-Nn rstered player. If calling in a nn rstered sub, cntact Erin Dxtatr fr apprval and liability waiver signature. Rtate subs s all have an pprtunity t sub. Caches Metr strives t btain a cach fr each team. Caches are vlunteers (they d nt get paid any mney) and cach fr the lve f the game. In the event there is n cach, there will be a player that serves as cach. Team Fees D1-D7 Full Time Skater playing in the WCHL - $450 (give r take $50) depending n hw many games and practices are scheduled. This is subject t change. Teams may pt ut f the WCHL, fees will be determined n schedule created. Full Time Galie - half the skater fee Sub Skater - pay as yu g - $15 per game -$10 per practice. Subject t change as fees change. Fees fr the winter travel seasn are paid in 2 installments. The first installment f $200 is due at the All Team Meeting. If yu have given ntice t the Metr Bard that yu cannt attend the All Team Meeting, this payment must be made by the first practice r yu will nt be allwed n the ice. There are n exceptins t making this payment and failure t d s will result in a frfeiture f yur rster spt. The secnd payment is annunced in Octber and must be paid n r befre Nvember 1st. This secnd fee may be paid in installments with prir apprval f the Metr Bard. Yu are nt allwed t play unless yur payments are up t date r yu have made arrangements with the treasurer fr payment. Schedules Schedules will be available after the WCHL scheduling meeting which is held the week after Labr Day. Each team needs 2 vlunteers t attend the schedule meeting t create their team schedule. Cntact the Metr bard fr mre details. Metr secures ice in July/Aug fr the upcming seasn. We will secure enugh ice fr 10 hme games and 15 practice ice times per team, unless therwise requested by a team. This may change as the schedule is created depending n what is needed.

Brkfield, WI Team Apparel A variety f team apparel will be made available t yu at ur All Team Meeting held in August/September. Fair Ice Time Full time players will nt sit the bench r be shrted ice time fr subs t play. Full Time players have pririty f ice time ver subs. They have cmmitted mre time t the team and therefre shuld receive fair ice time regardless f skill. Galies- A full time galie always gets pririty playing time. A sub galie shuld nt play ver a full time galie. If a team has tw full time galies, they shuld play equal game time. This applies fr all exhibitin, league, playff r natinal game times. Players sitting the bench explanatin. Shrting the bench is defined as playing a special line fr a shrt perid f time such as pwer play, penalty kill r t generate a scre. It is NOT having select player(s) sit fr mre than half f each perid per game. Shuld a situatin arise that any f this cannt be accmplished; it must be brught t the bard fr apprval/guidance ahead f time. Team Snap All travel teams use Team Snap as a way t cmmunicate with the team. We ask that all players d their part t fill ut their availability in a timely manner. Failing t d s by the Wednesday prir t the game weekend may result in nt being able t play. The reasn fr this is that Managers need t find subs and need time t d s. Turnaments Each team may attend any turnament they chse t. Yur team fees d nt cver any turnaments. Yur team manager will need t cllect the fees frm players and register fr the turnaments. Metr will frnt the registratin fee fr 1 turnament f yur chice; reimbursement will be made t Metr within 1 mnth f registering. We d have ice scheduled fr mst f weekends. (Nthing is scheduled the weekend f Pnd hckey) Jerseys New Full time players will receive 2 team jerseys at a cst f $100. Rec team players will receive 1 jersey upn signing a jersey return frm. Once a jersey is purchased, it is yurs. There are n refunds.

9 P a g e 8 Scks Full time travel players are required t purchase a set f hme and away scks fr $12 each pair ($24 ttal). The player wns the scks. Rec team players may purchase dark scks fr their jerseys. (nt required) Returning players may purchase scks at any time fr a cst f $12 per pair. Pnd Hckey Labatt pnd hckey turnament is held in Eagle River in February. Metr des nt schedule ice during that weekend. Players wishing t attend that d nt have a team, please ntify us at mmwhckey@gmail.cm. Metr will try t find yu a team t jin. Players must be 21 years f age by turnament start date. Fundraising Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Try, WI allws nn-prfit rganizatins, like urs, t wrk a cncessin r beer stand and in turn we receive a percentage f the prfits fr ur fundraising effrts. Available t all Metr members! The stand/s we wrk depends n ur cmmitment as well as Alpine's penings. The gal is t wrk an alchl nly stands. USA Hckey Registratin All Brew City Blades players playing in the WCHL must be USA Hckey registered. USAH registratin is required fr all USAH sanctined events which includes WCHL league and exhibitin games as well as turnaments. Nt all games we play in fr ur travel and rec teams are USA Hckey sanctined (i.e. sme exhibitin games r turnaments). We d play sme exhibitin games with teams that are nt insured and fr thse games we will nt have USAH cverage. a cpy f yur USAH cnfirmatin page with the bar cde n it t Erin Dxtatr at tatrdx@yah.cm Captains and Assistant Captains Each team will discuss when team leaders will be selected. There will be 1 Captain and 1 r 2 Alternate(s) per team. Captain respnsibilities include but are nt limited t the fllwing: The captains are strng leaders that lead by example. They get t practices and games, are dressed and ready t get n the ice n time.

10 P a g e 9 They set the md in the lcker rm, n the ice and n the bench. During the game, whether the team is winning r lsing, the captains are expected t mtivate their team with psitive remarks at all times. Everything the Captains d is dne with the team in mind. Sets the standard everybdy else needs t strive t attain. If the Captains lwer r cmprmise that standard, yu can be guaranteed that ther players n the team will as well. The Captains are ften cnsidered the primary representative f the team. The Captains need t address and/r relay any f the players cncerns t the bard. The Captain is the nly player allwed t speak with the referees abut rule interpretatins r if the captain is nt n the ice, an alternate may d s. They are nt t argue with the call but shuld ask questins. Captains are rle mdels t yur team and are watched, s hw the Captains act is basically saying this is kay t the rest f yu team. In the absence f the Cach, the Captains run the practice r game as directed by the Cach. After the game, the Captain cllects, checks ver the scre sheet (r delegates the task t anther team member) then gives t the team manager. Team Manager Each team needs a manager that will be respnsible fr running the behind the scenes duties f the team. It is strngly encuraged t delegate many f these respnsibilities t teammates and ensure that they are cmpleted. $50 will be deducted frm The Team Manager s fees. The deducted fees frm the team manager are split evenly and paid by the rest f the team. Duties include: Pucks brught t games and practices. Sub jerseys handed ut t sub players and cllected after each game. Wash (inside ut in cld water) and hang dry as needed. Subs cannt keep jerseys. Send in scresheets t WCHL within 5 days f game. Bring clean water bttles and fill fr each game. Respnsible fr filling ut scresheets. Scresheet is prvided by the hme team. Cnfirm with ther team fr team clr. (Generally white fr hme and dark fr away) Keep track n a Metr spreadsheet (link will be prvided) all sub game and practice attendance. Cllect Sub mney 2 times per seasn. First ice time in Jan and Last ice time f seasn. Be in charge f signing team up fr turnaments, cllect fees and send t Metr. All mney cllected needs t be given t the treasurer in an envelpe with ttal mney and list f hw each persn paid. Sme will pay per paypal, it just needs t be listed as such. Cmmunicating with the bard any players changing playing status whether it is sub t full r full t sub. Als wrk with team captains n cmmunicating any ther issues t the bard. Cnfirm all games - The Mnday prir t the weekend's game the cntact f the team yu will be playing t cnfirm the game. It is crucial that yu d this. It will eliminate any last minute surprises. A cntact sheet will be prvided.
