2 2 Missin Statement The primary Missin f the Palmdale Yuth Ftball and Cheer Prgram is t assist in the develpment f all student-athletes and their grwth nt nly as ftball players and cheerleaders, but als as yung citizens within the cmmunity. This is accmplished by imprving their life skills as well as their ftball and cheerleading abilities. All participants are affrded the pprtunity t imprve these life skills thrugh educatin, friendships, teamwrk, and ftball. The purpse f this prgram is t prvide safe, supervised ftball and cheer activities fr the yuth in ur area. The bjectives f the Palmdale Yuth Ftball Prgram shall be the fllwing: T build healthy bdies and minds. T develp skills and prficiency in the game f ftball and related activities. T teach the cncepts f teamwrk, cmmitment, accuntability, sprtsmanship, lyalty, hnesty, and pride. T stimulate cmmunity interest in ftball. T have fun. T accmplish all f these things with the welfare f these student-athletes first and fremst, withut adult ambitin fr persnal glry. 3 3 Pacific Yuth Ftball League (PYFL) PYF is a prud member f the Pacific Yuth Ftball League. Palmdale Yuth Ftball shares in their belief that the game f ftball is designed t create a friendly spirit f cmpetitin and sprtsmanship that helps build character in tday s yuth. The teams listed belw make up PYFL. During the seasn we can play any f these teams and during playffs. Our league des include traveling t ther cities fr games. In turn, many f these teams will travel t ur area and play us at ur hme field-palmdale High Schl. Agura Chargers, Burbank Vikings, Calabasas Wlfpack, Camarill Radrunners, Fillmre Bears, Highland Bulldgs, Mrpark Musketeers, Nrth Oxnard Warrirs, Ojai Eagles, Oxnard Panthers, Palmdale Falcns, Santa Barbara Sharks, Santa Clarita Warrirs, Thusand Oaks Titans, Valley Rams, Suth Valley Raiders, Ventura Packers, and West Lancaster Eagles Divisins Players must be in the 8 th grade r belw t participate in ur yuth prgram. Athletes must turn at least 6 years ld prir t September 1, NO player may be lder than 14 years ld. Players that are 14 years ld and turn 15 prir t December 31, 2018 are ineligible t participate. Any athlete in high schl (9 th grade r higher) is ineligible t participate. The utility bill name and address must match the players name, address, and must be current. Please be advised, any parent fund falsifying residence may be suspended frm playing fr the P.Y.F. prgram and is subject t the same actin frm P.Y.F.L. Physical exam (indicating a cmplete physical signed by a certified dctr)- due befre r n the first day f practice (July 28 th ) Reprt card-due prir t the PYFL Certificatin (August 7 th ) Original birth certificate fr new players. The birth certificate will be returned after certificatin. Mailed requests take apprximately fifteen (15) days. Call the Lancaster ffice fr hurs. Please start yur request NOW. Physical frms MUST be presented n r befre the first practice day. Any child that cmes t practice withut a physical frm WILL NOT be allwed t practice. This is a requirement f ur insurance cmpany and there are NO EXCEPTIONS.

5 5 PYFL Certificatin THIS IS A MANDATORY WEIGH IN. IF A PLAYER DOES NOT WEIGH IN, HE/SHE DOES NOT PLAY. PYFL cnducts mandatry weigh-ins fr all teams in each chapter. In rder t certify, they require each player submit a registratin frm, physical frm, utility bill, and riginal birth certificate. Yur team manager will cllect each f these items and prepare a team bk prir t certificatin. The team bk stays with the manager thrughut the duratin f the seasn. Original birth certificates will be returned t yu. Yur team manager will let yu knw during the first week f practice if any additinal paperwrk is needed prir t certificatin. What t Expect n Certificatin Day: Yur team will meet in a central lcatin and will be escrted by the cach and team manager t certificatin. Parents are nt allwed in the certificatin area. It is imprtant t arrive prmptly as yur team cannt certify until ALL players are present. Only under certain circumstances will early certificatin be allwed and it must be apprved by PYFL. If a player des nt certify r make weight, they are immediately drpped frm the team. Please let yur head cach knw as sn as pssible if yur child cannt make certificatin. Equipment Yur player will be issued nearly everything they need t play ftball. Equipment will be disbursed at a date and time t be determined. Yur cach will advise yu f yur team s designated time. A parent r guardian must sign fr the equipment and is respnsible fr the safe keeping f all issued equipment. The league lans each player a certified helmet, shulder pads, game and practice pants. At the cmpletin f the seasn these items are t be returned in clean and gd cnditin. Players shuld nt thrw r sit n their helmets and shulder pads. The pants shuld nt be mdified in anyway. Mandatry equipment nt prvided by PYF but required include a muth piece, cleats, chin strap, and prtective cup/jck strap. Each player shuld bring his r her wn marked water bttle t each practice, as we d nt prvide water fr practice. Yur head cach r team manager will let yu knw exactly what needs t be wrn t practice and n game days. Cnditining Every athlete is required t have a minimum f twenty (20) hurs f cnditining befre they are permitted t participate in bdy-t-bdy cntact. All cnditining

6 6 must be dne at an fficial practice under the supervisin f a cach. Cnditining activities frm ther sprts are nt acceptable and d nt cunt tward the 20 hurs. The ne week f PYF cnditining clinic (Falcn Week) des nt apply tward the 20 hurs. It is critical that yur child attends every practice during the first tw weeks, s they d nt fall behind. Practices Mandatry practice begins July 23 rd. These practices cunt tward the mandatry cnditining hurs. If a player misses any f these days they will fall behind n cnditining hurs. Shuld yur player fall behind in hurs, the time can nly be made up at an fficial PYF practice. The player behind n hurs will cnditin with a cach while the team mves n t cntact drills. Once the hurs are caught up, the player will return t team practice. Practices can be cnducted Mnday thrugh Saturday during the mnth f August. Beginning September 1, PYFL limits teams t 8 hurs f practice per week. Mst teams will practice Tuesday thrugh Thursday, with a walk-thrugh (n cntact) n Friday. Any player that regularly misses practices will be cntacted by the cach t discuss the situatin. PYF has a duty t keep all players safe and there are guidelines t help guarantee that. Being at practice regularly helps ensure a player s understanding f the game, the plays, and keeps them in cnditin. Drp ff and Pick UP Players are expected t be fully dressed and ready t g when practice begins. This helps ensure practice ends in a timely manner; hwever there may be ccasins when practices is extended. Yu are welcme and encuraged t stay and bserve all practices withut interruptin. It is mandatry that all Gremlin and Pee Wee players have a parent r legal guardian present during practice. Fr thse with children n the lder divisins chsing t drp ff, please arrive 15 minutes prir t the end time f practice. Please be cnsiderate f ur vlunteers. We d nt want ur caches t becme babysitters. Yur team manager and head cach will keep yu well infrmed f their expectatins.

7 7 Game Day All hme games will be played n Saturdays at Palmdale High Schl. Ftball games are played n Saturday between the hurs f 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Our first regular seasn game will be n Saturday August 25, Please nte that schedules may nt be available until the Wednesday prir t the first game. Yur team manager will ntify yu as sn as they are available. We will have an eight (8) r nine (9) game seasn depending upn the need fr a bye in a particular age divisin. Caches will ntify players f the apprpriate time t arrive at game sites All players will receive a minimum f 12 plays per game per the PFYL bylaws. The seasn, including all playff and Super Bwl games, will end n r befre Nvember 17, Weather Games and practices typically prceed regardless f the weather. If there is pr air quality r lightning there will be n games r practices. Questins regarding scheduled practices shuld always be addressed with the Team Manager r Head Cach. Cancellatins will be sent via text, , and/r messages n Facebk. Refund Plicy Palmdale Yuth Ftball and Cheer has a strict n refund plicy. Refund requests will be cnsidered nly under extreme cnditins. The Executive Bard reserves the right t determine when r if any refund will be issued.
