Fashion Storyboard: The 4H Fashion Storyboard is an industry inspired method of displaying original designs. The best storyboards create vivid visual images that are interesting and appealing to viewers. The storyboard tells the story of the designer s idea. The storyboard includes original illustrations and flats, as well as additional materials (such as photos from the Internet or magazines, paper, fabric swatches, patterns, etc.) that have influenced the unique design. There are 5 categories that each item must be entered and 4-H members may enter only ONE storyboard per category. For Fashion Storyboard s theme: #4HFashionStoryboard2016 Social media has become a stage to not only set fashion trends, but to launch designers. Social media outlets such as, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, and YouTube are easily accessible, and conversational in nature. Fashion trends are created though social media, the trend is not imposed on the audience, but instead, it is made available for the audience, and the audience will have the freedom to adopt it or grasp onto part of it. More info can be found at under the D7 4-H website for Jr & Intermediate Fashion Show Guidelines or at the Texas 4-H Fashion Storyboard website at: h.tamu.edu/clothings-textiles/. Worksheets are available at the County Extension office for the Construction Division and the Buying Division and will also be mailed out to those who express an interest. There are due into the Extension office by Friday, June 24th. A good time was had by all! Twin Mountain Club To celebrate the End of the Year Party the Twin Mountain 4-H Club went to the Schlitterbahn water park in New Braunfels. It was really fun! We went down the Master Blaster, which is the world's only uphill water slide. They do it by spraying up out of really powerful jets that makes your raft go up. There was also the Black Knight was scary because it is completely dark the hole time, and the Wolf Pack that has an extra-large raft so that three people can go at a time. It was awesome and I hope we can do it again next year. Sean Woodley, Reporter Christoval Club Members of the Christoval 4-H club celebrated the end of the year with a swim party at the pool in Eldorado. Everyone had a great time! Officer pins were awarded to our outgoing officers, and a big thank you to all of the parents who helped make this year possible. Our new officers will meet during the summer to plan for the new 4-H year. We hope everyone has a great summer break! TGC Shooting Shotgun Club Shotgun is in full swing of attending statewide shoots. Our county shoot went great. (it was our Last shoot facing East, Next year we will have to be facing North.) We want to thank our sponsors for our shoot and all of the volunteers that made the shoot a success. So we are planning and developing our new shotgun shooting facility. We are practicing every Tuesday after 5:00 and monthly meetings the second 6:00. Archery Club: The Archery Club will be honoring Senior members who will be graduating and their end-of-year activities at their meeting to be held June 2nd. Pictures and article next month. TGC Rifle Club A good group of kids went to the Callahan County Fun Shoot on May 21st. Reese Kearby, Wyatt Young, Braden Peiser, Trey Greeman, Riley Nikolauk, Garrison Nikolauk, Grayson Tanner and Zane Wegner participated and represented the Tom Green County 4-H Rifle Club. Grayson Tanner got 4th place in the 3 Position event; Braden Peiser got 1st place in Silhouettes, 1st place in Light Rifle, 1st place in 3 Position and he won the Small Bore Rifle Overall award. A good time was had by all. The Nikolauks brought their grill and cooked sausage and hotdogs. There was enough food to feed an army. Everyone ate and between events, the kids played while the parents "chillaxed" in the shade. All Tom Green County 4- Hers can be proud of this rifle team...in the way that they carry themselves as well as the way that they shoot! Lone Star Club The Lone Star Club held its final meeting and end of the year party on May 1 st at the Rocking Chair Ranch.
