1 Crockett Co. 4-H Forecast M A R C H District & Open Contest to be held in Ozona, TX Crockett County will host their annual Wool & Mohair Judging, Range Judging and Plant ID contest April 10, 2010 here in Ozona, TX. Along with the open contests Crockett County will also host the District contests as well. If you think you might be interested in volunteering please let us know. If you are thinking of joining the judging teams here are the practice dates. March 3, 2010 Range & Plant 4:30 Wool & 5:30 Crockett County 4-H Barn Coaches/Adult Leaders Carlon & Ann Stapper Ft Worth Stock Show Results March 4-H Meeting Allie Black, Crockett Co. 4-H member exhibited the Reserve Champion Fine Wool Whether lamb. Allie also exhibited a fifth place goat in the Jr. Goat Show. Murphey Black was second in the Hair Sheep division and third in the Jr. Lamb Show. Kelbie Renfroe placed second with her black and Wes McGuire placed third with his Fine 4-H Office Refreshments to be provided by Thomas Cruz, Taylor Newton & Brenna Hale

2 Clothing & Textiles Project Kick off for the Clothing & Textiles Project will be March 7, the 4-H office. If you plan on participating in this project it is really important that you make it to this meeting. Adult leader for this project is Mrs. Wendy Justiss. If any of you parents would like to volunteer that would be AWESOME! 4-H- To Make The District 6 Food Show & Food Challenge Contest For all of you that planned to travel to El Paso on December 4, 2009 for the District 6 Food Show and Food Challenge contests that were canceled due to bad weather a new date and location has been set. 3 Horse Validation All 4-H horse projects that plan on participating at the District Horse Show in Fort Stockton, including Futurity horses, must be owned and validated on or before May 1. This process begins at the county level with the appropriate paperwork and a $10 fee/horse. So come by before May 1st if you plan on participating at District.

Highlights: 1 day River Float; Team Building/Leadership Activities by T bar M staff; officer elections Estimated cost $210 per person. More information coming soon. Deadline for registration due on 4-H Connect by mid-may Howard College Lamb and Goat Camp - Lamb Camp will be held June 6-8 and Goat Camp will be held June at Howard College in Big Spring. Topics will cover selection, health management, exercising showmanship and much more. Cost is $85 per person and adult supervision is required. Feel free to bring your own animal and fitting /trimming equipment.
